Forget Cummings, Boris, and the Covid enquiry, what do we know about pandemics?

The history, the reality, and what is coming to us all under international law

How the unelected WHO will dictate lockdowns and the removal of personal freedoms

In response to some member states calling for more effective global cooperation to protect countries from health emergencies, a new international legally-binding instrument is being developed by the World Health Organisation to strengthen pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.

This will override what the UK Government might choose to do to us the next time there is a ‘pandemic’, unless the Government takes a stand. This is Part III in our series on the dangers of the WHO’s encroachment on UK sovereignty.

As with Parts I and II, Facts4EU and CIBUK acknowledge the assistance of Philippa D’Arcy. Philippa is ex-CEO of The Rose Partnership and is now a Functional Health Coach.

The ‘Pandemic Treaty’ and the new International Health Regulations

This whole process was initiated in late 2021 at a special session of the WHO’s governing body, the World Health Assembly. One aspect of this process is the amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR), which will become enforceable under international law.

Another aspect is the drafting of a ‘Pandemic Treaty’ known as the ‘WHO CA+’, which describes financing, governance, and supply network responsibilities in the event of future disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies.

The draft IHR amendments lay out new powers for the WHO during health emergencies and broaden the context within which they can be used. The draft ‘Pandemic Treaty’ is intended to support the bureaucracy, financing and governance to underpin the expanded IHR.

These proposed instruments, as currently drafted, would fundamentally change the relationship between the WHO, its Member States, and naturally their populations. They will promote an autocratic and colonial-style approach to healthcare and governance that would overrule national sovereignty. The documents need to be viewed together, and in the far wider context of the globalist pandemic agenda.

Who are these ‘pandemics’ killing?

In Western countries, Covid-19 was associated with deaths at an average age of about 80 years. In the UK the average was 83 years old, which is older than the average length of life. Global estimates show an overall infection mortality rate of about 0.15%, which is similar to that for influenza.

The main causes of death in England and Wales

Around 580,000 people die every year in England and Wales. This is just a fact of life (and of death).

We have previously published the official data for causes of death in the UK and are updating this below. Our summary collates information from the Office for National Statistics from Jan 2020 and has taken a long time to produce. There is no simple summary available so we have analysed the data and can bring this to readers below. If you can help to fund this kind of work please see our donations page here.

This clearly shows that cancer, dementia/Alzheimers, and heart desease have been the biggest killers since Jan 2020. The data in relation to “deaths due to Covid” is highly suspect, as we have pointed out before. This is primarily because Covid was mentioned on death certificates even when the primary cause was something else. If someone tested positive for Covid then it was put on the death certificate, regardless of the main cause of death.

Primary causes of death in England and Wales, 2020-2022

Even if one believes the official statistics (and we don’t), 91% of deaths in the last three years had nothing to do with COVID.

How the public is being threatened by ‘the Science’

The current rapidly-increasing funding for pandemics and health emergencies is based on several fallacies, frequently repeated in white papers and other documents, as well as in the mainstream media, as if they were facts. In particular:

  • Pandemics are increasing in frequency
  • Pandemics are causing an increasing health burden
  • Increased contact between humans and wildlife will promote more pandemics, as most are caused by zoonotic viruses

The history of pandemics

The last pandemic to cause major mortality happened over a century ago. This was the 1918-19 ’Spanish Flu’, estimated to have killed 20-50m people. As noted by the National Institutes of Health, most of these people died of secondary bacterial pneumonia, as the outbreak occurred in the pre-antibiotic era.

Since then, there have only been two significant pandemics: Asian Flu (1957-8) and Hong Kong Flu (1968-9) each with c.1m deaths. Notwithstanding this, the media have presented us with a story of almost non-stop pandemics during the 21st century.

Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary

Here are the ‘pandemics’ this century, worldwide

  • 2002-3 : SARS-1 – c.150,000 deaths
  • 2004-5 : Bird flu (H5N1) – 338 deaths
  • 2009-10 : Swine flu (H1N1) – 150,000-575,000 deaths (probably the lower end)
  • 2014 and 2018-19 : Ebola – 2,287 deaths
  • 2020-23 : SARS-CoV-2 (COVID) – 5.4m deaths supposedly attributable in 4 years
  • 2022-23 : Monkeypox – 2,500 cases in 40 countries and not a single death outside of Africa

For context 290,000 to 650,000 die of ‘flu every year, and 1.6m die of tuberculosis. So these outbreaks have been relatively insignificant.

And we are incessantly told that more pandemics are coming and they are likely to be worse. We have been assaulted with warnings for over two decades, to induce a deep fear of infectious diseases, and it seems to have worked.

Just before COVID, the WHO was advising against lockdowns

Understanding the devastating effects on health (and economies) of locking down, with the reductions in cancer and heart disease screening and increases in poverty and stress, the WHO advised in late 2019 “not under any circumstances” to impose lockdown-like measures for pandemic influenza.

Remember face masks?

In the same bulky report in late 2019 the WHO produced recommended measures in the event of a major pandemic of ‘flu. Throughout their report they admit that “there is no evidence” for the effectiveness of most of the measures. As an example, here was their conclusion on face masks.

“OVERALL RESULT OF EVIDENCE ON FACE MASKS

“Ten RCTs [randomized controlled trials] were included in the meta-analysis, and there was no evidence that face masks are effective in reducing transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza.”

[Source : Page 26 (out of 91) of the WHO’s pandemic recommendations, issued just months before the outbreak of COVID-19.]

Despite this, we were all forced to wear face masks.

The Covid-19 event stands out from previous pandemics due to the aggressive and disproportionate responses employed, which were instituted contrary to these existing WHO guidelines. The harms of this response are not for this discussion. However, there is little doubt that the resultant disruptions to health systems and increased poverty will cause far higher mortality, at a far younger age, than would have been expected from Covid-19 itself.

The dangerous future

Despite the historical rarity of true pandemics, the WHO and partners are pushing forward with a rapid process that will ensure the repetition of such responses, rather than first analysing the costs and benefits of the recent pandemic response. This is clearly reckless and a bad way to develop policy.

In Part IV of this series we will examine the first of the measures being lined up for next year, which will severely curtail individual freedoms and the UK Government's ability to act independently.

Observations

The first three parts of this report make for sobering reading. Unfortunately the subsequent reports are equally disturbing. Nevertheless they should be read by our lawmakers, by the media, and by as many of the public as possible.

If the United Kingdom does not act we will be sucked into a globalist world where the fate of its own people will be out of its own Government's hands.

We must get reports like this out there

Reports like the one above take far longer to research, write and produce than many people realise. If they were easy, readers would see other organisations also producing these daily. However, there’s little point in the Facts4EU.Org team working long hours, seven days-a-week, if we lack the resources to promote them effectively – to the public, to MPs, and to the media. This is where you come in, dear reader.

Facts4EU.Org needs you today
