Once again, your taste was varied this year, but some issues seem to resonate with you very strongly
For a bit of fun - and in the time-honoured Facts4EU.Org Christmas tradition - here is our Christmas ‘Top of the Pops’ for the most popular reports we have run in 2024. People see information about our reports in many ways, so this year we are giving you two charts – one for the popularity of the messaging on social media, and one for all other means people access them, including our regular website readership.
At the date of writing, Facts4EU.Org has produced an astonishing 322 reports so far this year (2024), on a wide variety of subjects relating to our core themes of independence, sovereignty, democracy, and freedom. There was therefore stiff competition to make it into either of our two Top 10 charts!
1. We begin with social media
Topping the poll on social media is the Rt Hon Baroness Katherine Hoey, who kindly gave Facts4EU.Org an interview back in March which we promoted widely. It seems the public like and respect Kate as much as we do. What she had to say in March is just as relevant today as it was then. We hope you will want to read it if you haven’t done so already.

We've been doing this for NINE years
For NINE years the Brexit Facts4EU.Org team has been publishing reports on different subjects every morning, researched from official sources. The topics vary enormously, across domestic issues, to the EU-UK relationship, to the United Kingdom’s place in the world, to immigration, to the opportunities ahead of us all if the Government grasps the nettle and delivers more of the freedoms available to us as a result of Brexit.
We try to make them short and punchy (and occasionally entertaining!) and we summarise for readers, to make the reports more easily digestible. In this way we attract a large readership of MPs, Peers, the media, and the public.
We get the messages out there but if you want us to keep doing work like this,
please support us with a small (or large!) gesture, or we will have to cut back dramatically.

2. Our second chart reveals the popularity of reports on our website only, from all routes
The No.1 slot goes to a certain French politician by the name of President Emmanuel Macron. Sadly, the Elysée Palace declined to give us an interview back in August, but we published this important report regardless.

The differences between the two charts
It will immediately be obvious to readers that our two charts are quite different. In fact only one report makes it into both charts and this is the piece featuring Baroness Kate Hoey, who was our chart-topper this year on social media with Northern Ireland as the key issue.
Observations
Why were these chart-topping reports so popular?
If readers have any insights into why these particular reports made it into our two Top 10s for 2024 when so many other worthwhile reports were not as popular, we would be pleased to hear your thoughts.
Naturally there are always external factors at play, such as other news items preoccupying people on a particular day, but perhaps there are some lessons we can learn from this ‘beauty contest’!

NOTICE : Facts4EU has now scaled back to publishing 5 days-a-week
For nine years we have worked seven days-a-week. As far as we are aware we are the only organisation of our type to have done this. We are grateful to those of our readers who have made donations but sadly the level of our funding is now such that we must make it stretch for as long as we can. This means team members taking other paid work and reducing our output to five days-a-week.
