 IT'S 900 DAYS
SINCE WE VOTED TO LEAVE THE EU
© EU Council
WHY HAVEN’T WE LEFT?
Today marks 900 days since the British people voted to leave the European Union.
Tomorrow evening the majority-Remainer House of Commons will vote on Theresa May’s “Remain, With Chains” abomination of a deal with the EU.
It has taken 900 days to get here. How on earth did that happen?
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
  • It took the EU almost 6 months to appoint a Brexit negotiator
  • It took them almost a year to start negotiations
What price getting a trade deal before the Backstop
or having to extend the Transition Period for another 2 years...?
IT WASN’T ONLY THE PM’S INCOMPETENCE AND BETRAYAL, IT WAS THE EU’S TOO
After the UK voted for Brexit in June 2016, in a normal world informal talks would have started within weeks. So why didn’t they?
David Cameron promised that if the country voted ‘Leave’, he would immediately trigger Article 50. Instead, he resigned.
24 JUNE 2016 - NEITHER SIDE HAD THEIR POSITIONS PREPARED
Neither the UK Civil Service, NOR the EU Commission, had done any preparation for a Leave vote. In our view this represented gross negligence and incompetence on both sides, but naturally no heads have ever rolled.
The Establishments on both sides of the Channel were convinced that the British people would never dare to vote Leave, given the propaganda onslaught they had been subjected to for months. When the British people did so, both the British Civil Service and the EU Commission were caught with their pants down.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
In the UK’s case, action was relatively swift. David Davis was appointed Brexit Secretary on 13th July – less than three weeks after the Referendum.
The EU did not formally have a person with whom the UK Brexit Secretary could negotiate until almost six months after the EU Referendum.
The cause of the EU’s delay was down to internal squabbles within the EU - between the Commission, the EU Parliament, and the EU Council - about how the Brexit negotiations should be run and who should run them. (See below.)
Meanwhile, the unelected EU Commission gave a diktat that there would be “No negotiations before notification [of Article 50].”
There was no basis in EU law nor in any Treaty provisions for this diktat. It was given by the unelected totalitarian bureaucrats of the EU, and the UK government shamefully failed to counter this in any way.
The UK had voted to leave the EU. The diplomatic and legal niceties were just that, and they didn’t alter the fact of the Referendum result nor the obvious need to begin a dialogue between the EU and the UK. It is a simple fact that informal dialogue could have been opened by David Davis in July 2016, if the EU hadn’t been in such a mess.
02 OCT 2016, PM ANNOUNCED ARTICLE 50 TO BE TRIGGERED BY END MARCH 2017
Whilst the EU was debating internally about its processes, British PM Theresa May announced that the UK would trigger Article 50 no later than the end of March 2017. In making this announcement (at the Tory Party Conference), she gave the EU six months’ notice.
15 DEC 2016 – AFTER ALMOST 6 MONTHS, EU FINALLY CHOSE ITS NEGOTIATOR
It wasn’t until the EU Council meeting of 15th December that Michel Barnier was appointed as the official Chief Negotiator for the EU.
The UK's negotiator was appointed within 3 weeks of the Referendum
The EU didn't have one in place for almost 6 months
17 JAN 2017 - PM PUBLISHED 12 PRINCIPLES OF BREXIT NEGOTIATIONS
On 17 January, Theresa May outlined 12 principles of what the UK was seeking to achieve in its vision of Brexit. These were widely publicised and freely available to all – including the EU.
02 FEB 2017 - UK GOVERNMENT PUBLISHED PAPER DETAILING ITS POSITION
At the beginning of February, David Davis published an official White Paper. Running to 77 pages, it set out the previously announced Brexit principles in more detail. This was submitted to Parliament on 2nd Feb 2017.
29 MAR 2017 - UK FORMALLY INVOKED ARTICLE 50
Ahead of the self-imposed deadline which Mrs May had announced the previous October, the UK government formally triggered Article 50 on 29 March last year. Mrs May’s 6 page letter to the EU reconfirmed the UK’s position in line with what had previously been announced.
11 JUNE 2017 - JUNCKER LIES AGAIN
President Juncker openly lies. He even admits this himself and has been transparent about doing it on many occasions.
On Sunday 11 June he gave a classic example of this to the German magazine Der Spiegel.
“We have been ready to negotiate for months.”
- EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, 11 June 2017
This was a gross falsehood and Juncker knew it.
Naturally British broadcasters simply swallowed the EU’s propaganda and regurgitated it. Here's just one example (from Sky News but we could have chosen the BBC or many other outlets):
"The EU wants the negotiations on Brexit to begin. They have been ready for months and have been waiting only for the UK to come to the table."
- Mark Stone, Sky News, 11 June
12 JUNE 2017 - UK POSITION PAPERS
The EU finally sent its FIRST approved ‘position papers’ to the UK government on 12 June 2017.
TUESDAY 19 JUNE 2017 - NEGOTIATIONS STARTED
Negotiations finally started on 19 June 2017, when Michel Barnier (Chief Brexit Negotiator for the EU) invited the then Brexit Secretary the Rt Hon David Davis MP to Brussels. Olly Robbins (British Civil Service) and Sabine Weyand (Barnier’s deputy) were also in attendance.
SO, THE EU WAS NOT READY UNTIL ALMOST 12 MONTHS AFTER THE REFERENDUM
The above shows how at all stages the EU had NOT been ready to start negotiations for almost a year.
If it had acted efficiently it would at the very least have been ready to start the day after Article 50 was triggered – on 30 March 2017. After all, it had been given 6 months’ notice of this by the UK government, and it was 9 months since the British people’s decision in the EU Referendum.
The above shows how a year of Brexit negotiations was lost – and the slowest player was the EU.
OBSERVATIONS
Negotiations can take many forms. It is perfectly possible – many would say highly desirable and normal – for informal talks to start as soon as both parties know that a formal negotiation will be required. Nothing needs to be agreed, but a general ‘sounding out’ of each other’s likely positions is almost essential.
In the case of Brexit, most people would have expected that informal talks might have started a few weeks after the Referendum. This would have been helpful to both sides.
Instead, the EU took a bizarre position that no talks of any kind could take place until the UK had formally triggered Article 50. Regrettably all the pro-EU elements of the British government and media acquiesced in this strange EU decision by unelected technocrats, as if it were perfectly normal.
This was a unilateral decision by the EU. It is not mentioned anywhere in Article 50 or in any other article of the EU treaties. There was no law, directive, decision, or any other kind of rule which prevented the UK and the EU talking informally before the legal invocation of Article 50.
WHAT PRICE A QUICK TRADE DEAL TO AVOID THE BACKSTOP?
Throughout this process there has been a dismal failure to understand the mentality of the fanatical ideologues of the EU. No-one likes a know-it-all, but Brexit Facts4EU.Org maintained from the very start that the EU would never do a sensible deal with the UK.
We hope that our little look back at the first year following the EU Referendum demonstrates that the EU is totally incapable (and will be unwilling) to agree a trade deal with the UK during the Transition Period.
This inevitably means either a prolongation of the transition for another two years, or entering the Backstop. The first prolongs Mrs May’s “Remain, with Chains” and the second is wholly unconscionable as it makes the EU masters of whether we can ever leave. Both require continued payments, laws made by foreign powers, and never-ending demands from the EU for money and subservience.
Once again: Theresa May must go – NOW.

What a fantastic opening line for a Leave voting MP to say In the HOC today!
You've structured the speech for them, as well. Let's pray that someone uses it!
I should point out that "let's pray" is a suggestion, that includes the speaker. It is not a promise. c.f. a slogan on a bus "Let's fund the NHS." A suggestion, not a promise.

Message: The EU was completely unprepared even for the leave vote and it showed. Donald Tusk in his first speech after the Referendum result was swallowing tears, looked pale and his weak and shaky voice sounded like he was announcing a search for his favourite lost toy.
More difficult to know with Juncker, because 'something' affects his spirit as ever. So he generally displays some of the classic symptoms: sudden swings between aggressive and sentimental moods.

 ‘IT DOESN’T MATTER
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TUESDAY’
THE BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUNDAY EDITORIAL
© Parliament website
THE PEOPLE VERSUS THE MPs
DEMOCRATS VERSUS ANTI-DEMOCRATS
For this Sunday edition of Brexit Facts4EU.Org we had contemplated publishing an article full of our usual official facts, explaining why the whole EEA / EFTA /Norway thing is rose-coloured Scandinavian herring.
Then we thought: “What’s the point?”
THE ONE, FUNDAMENTAL ISSUE
There is only one fundamental issue right now, and that’s the refusal of our MPs to accept the instructions of the British people.
Thanks to the disastrous government of Theresa May, there is now only one viable route for delivering the decision of the British people, and that’s an exit from the European Union on WTO terms, with some side agreements on citizens rights, flights, and whatever else the incalcitrant ideologues in Brussels might reluctantly see as being in their best interests.
The catch is that our elected representatives in Parliament are busying themselves finding any and all means possible to prevent this.
This then begs the question. Who’s in charge of the biggest issue for our country in generations, the people or the politicians?
WHO WAS IN CHARGE?
We all know the answer in theory. We were told over and over by the politicians before we voted ‘the wrong way’. It was made clear that we were in charge of whether to remain or leave. It was solely our decision.
Sadly – and precisely because we voted ‘the wrong way’ – our elected representatives have persuaded themselves over the past two and a half years that they should be in charge of ‘our’ decision after all.
THE ISSUE ISN’T BREXIT
This leads us to the real issue..... And this issue isn’t Brexit, because that was decided by the people on 23 June 2016.
No, the real issue is something that drove many people to vote Leave in the first place.
The real issue is good old-fashioned democracy
Which in turn leads us to sovereignty
Brexiteers believe in democracy and sovereignty. Remoaners don’t. This battle is really between democrats and anti-democrats.
“OH NO, HOW MANY MORE TIMES?”
We fully understand that long-standing readers of Brexit Facts4EU.Org might be tiring of our repeated articles in the last two weeks about lobbying MPs. In the last (nearly) three years, our readers have quite rightly come to expect well-researched articles about all aspects of the EU and Brexit, citing real facts from official sources.
Unfortunately we have recently felt compelled to produce yet another campaign to persuade our elected representatives to respect the majority will of the British people, as expressed in a vote which the Electoral Commission declared to be valid.
We take no pleasure in this. We have done it quite simply because none of the big boys were stepping up to the plate, in our opinion. Those large Brexit organisations, with funding we can only dream of, have failed to nail the fundamental issue. So we’ve had to do it.
And it’s working. (See article below)
IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TUESDAY’S VOTE
This morning Ladbrokes are offering odds of 1/12 that Theresa May’s “Remain with chains” deal is voted down on Tuesday.
After it has been defeated, as seems extremely likely, what then?
Whatever happens, it will be decided by MPs in the first place. It doesn’t matter whether there’s a Tory leadership contest, arcane procedures to prevent an exit on WTO terms, a no confidence vote, a general election, or a vote for yet another referendum.
The key to everything is MPs and whether they can be pressured into accepting the result of the EU Referendum. Without that, everything else is simply political machinations and personality politics.
PLEASE GET YOUR VOICE HEARD – AND THE VOICE OF YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
We implore all decent, ordinary people to make an effort today. Without you, MPs will end up doing what they think, not what you’ve told them to do.
The message to MPs is simple:
“Respect my vote, or lose it forever”
Please see the following simple article and please, please act on it today.

We've won 3 votes on Brexit, but it's not enough for remainers, we have to have a 4th but this time the choice is Remain, or Remain and give up your say and right to leave AKA May's Deal. They're so bad at winning the argument they've resorted to Soviet tactics of only having the options they want on the ballot.
There is no need for a referendum, we've been asked plenty of times, the only course of action is to leave No Deal and I really don't care about your stupid co-ordinated scare stories or willful lack of preparation for WTO terms, stop dragging your heels and GIFD'

Message: MPs cannot have failed to take note of the massive, angry, riots in Paris and across cities of Belgium and France. It was not just anger against Macron or oil price hikes but also against the Globalist movement taking over all our lives. Watch the news: the Yellow Jackets protests could just as easily spread to the UK. For we are all united in our hatred of Globalism. And it's not just Macron who is supporting supremacist control over all our lives. So is our PM, T. May.
Unless our vote to Leave is carried out on Tuesday, and fully without any strings attached to the EU afterwards, then the British too will have had more than enough. Once feelings are ignited to such a pitch, no amount of policing can ever quell the anger. MPs should follow the Democratic route, as we have done by Referendum, and now vote down the appeasing joke of a Withdrawal Agreement. Just say 'No'.

Message: Some MPs are sticking to Theresa May like glue. Why? Because they have an eye to the main chance: it used to be called 'Grace and Favour'. Promotion, to put it simply.
At one Conservative Members Meeting ( A Leave Constituency) the MP stated she was prepared to take a risk, and vote for May's Withdrawal Agreement! Since when are MPs authorised to gamble with our futures? Another MP was on radio yesterday and, in spite of his constituency voting to leave, spouted a lot of rubbish about how May's version would deliver all that he stood for: control of borders, control of our own laws etc. Utter tosh. Frighteningly ignorant of the facts, or intentionally trying to pull the wool over our eyes.
The irony of all this is that these two are backing the wrong 'Horse'!!!!
Name: S. Ashurst, UK      Date/Time: 09 Dec 2018, 09.34am
Message: Its the Constituency members who are mostly for Brexit, not the MP's. In the current situation badgering the local committee could be effective. The MP depends upon their support in retaining his seat. If minded they can bring a lot of pressure to bear.
Name: Elise, Newcastle, UK      Date/Time: 09 Dec 2018, 09.17am
Message: Patrick F is right on the spot as usual. :) Politicians and similar species just don't seem to realise that we're seriously tired of listening to their botched theories and machinations of why we voted what we voted or what is it that we really voted for in their 'superior' opinion. The message is there loud and clear. They are like the two monkeys out of the three - but without the wisdom attached. They're blind and deaf but unfortunately even that doesn't seem to stop them talking...
Name: Patrick F, Kent, UK      Date/Time: 09 Dec 2018, 08.24am
Message: We all know the figures, don't we? Leave gained 52% of the votes, Remain 48% in the 2016 Referendum. What is less publicised is, if the Referendum were conducted like a General Election ie on a constituency basis the votes would have been 67% Leave, 33% Remain.
So, you MP's who want a second referendum to break the "impasse", fine. Same question as 2016, but the constituencies, not the 'people' decide.
And to use the twisted language of the MP's 'what remain will we be voting for?', 'now that we have more information' A soft Remain? A hard Remain?
WE HAD THE ARGUMENTS FOR AND AGAINST OUR MEMBERSHIP OF THE EU PRIOR TO THE REFERENDUM. RESPECT OUR VOTE AND DEMOCRACY AND STOP TELLING ME WHAT YOU THINK I VOTED FOR! THAT DOESN'T DELEGITIMISE MY VOTE!
Name: Varaloba, Finland      Date/Time: 09 Dec 2018, 08.15am
Message: So many of these MP's from all parties have safe seats, so however people vote, it will have no effect upon them. My old constituency South West Herts is one for example, a totally safe Conservative seat, with a staunch EU MP, so the few can determine the future of the majority! The UK is still basically a two party country, and that is the problem, as shown previously by UKIP, until this is changed the peoples vote will not matter to them.
Reply: Thanks Varaloba. We have to disagree in part, we're afraid. In our Brexit Battle Pack we published a list of the 80 most vulnerable seats. We have the next 80 most vulnerable but simply haven't had the resource to publish that too. The fact is that even MPs in supposedly 'safe' seats are vulnerable to actions by their Constituency Associations. The more pressure we put on MPs, the better. If we adopted your approach we would be giving in to those who simply don't respect democracy, and that's something we could never do. Our overriding message is for everyone to do everything they can now.

 STAND AND DELIVER!
© Brighton Brexiteers
Brighton Brexiteers handing out our 'Brexit Flyer' yesterday in the PM's constituency
DEFEATING THE PM'S “REMAIN, WITH CHAINS”
AND RESTORING BRITISH DEMOCRACY
This weekend large numbers of people have already been distributing our ‘Brexit Flyer’.
And tens of thousands of people have been receiving electronic copies so that they can print out as many as they can and go out delivering door-to-door today.
EVERYONE LOVES IT!
Described by a national officer of one of the political parties as “the best I have seen”, Facts4EU.Org’s ‘Brexit Flyer’ is designed to put pressure on MPs where it hurts them most - in their majorities!
This flyer promotes an exit on WTO terms – now the only truly viable route to a clean Brexit - and gives voters the chance to sign it and post it to their MPs today. The underlying message for voters to send to their MPs is :-
“Respect my vote, or lose it forever”
BACKING FOR OUR ‘BREXIT FLYER’ IS GROWING BY THE HOUR
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
Here are just some of the organisations who are now backing our flyer:-
  • Alliance of British Entrepreneurs
  • Brexit Alliance (nine pro-Brexit groups including Get Britain Out, Better Off Out, The Freedom Association, the Bow Group, the Campaign for Conservative Democracy)
  • City for Britain
  • Fishing for Leave
  • Scots for Leave
  • The Time Party
  • UKIP
  • Veterans for Britain

THREE EXAMPLES OF MANY EMAILS RECEIVED IN THE LAST 24 HOURS
1. Brighton Brexiteers who travelled to Theresa May’s constituency yesterday
“I had printed off your flyers and we had some booklets that one of our guys created. We had given everything away in just short of the three hours we'd allowed ourselves.
“We set up right next to an ‘Is it worth it’ Remainers pitch :) We had loads of positive responses -- it seems Maidenhead hasn't had any Brexit campaigning at all but the Remainers are out every week, so people were really pleased to see us and thought it great we'd travelled up.”
2. Marietta King – on behalf of a local Brexit group in Lincolnshire
“Great document, we had them on the market in Stamford, Lincs, on Friday morning.”
“Please could you send me the original in Word, so i can edit and print it with the details of Sir Alan Duncan on it, or and other local Conservative MP's. Many thanks.”
3. Scots for Leave – Edinburgh branch
“This is really super. Thank you for the leaflets, just the ticket. A group of us will be handing them out in a shopping centre on Sunday morning.”
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Please gird your loins once again, we need you to hit the streets! If you could print off as many of these flyers as possible and deliver them locally, it will make a real difference. Already thousands of people are doing this all across the country but we need the maximum possible effort this weekend.
Even if you only delivered to 10 houses, it all adds to the pressure on MPs to respect democracy, even if they don’t care about our sovereignty.
Will you “stand and deliver” today?

Message: Your efforts are very much appreciated, It is so much work to create, review, edit, print, deliver, explain etc material from end to end! To have well researched, proof read material that can just be read (people need to ensure they agree with the ethos of an item!), printed, and then distributed on the street is a huge effort saved to be spent on the other aspects.
I'd love to be a big cheese in the control tower - but if a job needs doing, and it is in my skill set - that's where I'll have to be - even if it is babybel work!
I hope we smaller cheeses can join to become an non-EU cheese mountain and beat them all :)
The behaviour of the big, official campaigns is so very disappointing - rubbish bits of card they hope you'll hand out... But finding individuals with the belief in themselves to act on their own account is so very rare, we need to maximise the advantage while we can! Very Best Regards

I've attached a PDF in various sizes, feel free to use/distribute it in any way you wish. Keep up the good work!

WTO – THE WAY TO GO
DEAD BODIES, GRIDLOCKED COUNTIES,
RUBBISH PILED UP IN THE STREETS?
© Twitter / Michael Fabricant MP
PROJECT FEAR AND THE WTO SOLUTION
There are many important flaws in the current Project Fear wild stories about exiting on WTO terms.
To remind readers, these wild and irresponsible claims by national and local government include Southern England’s roads becoming gridlocked for six months by trucks queuing for Dover, dead bodies being uncollected, food deliveries not getting to supermarkets, and even children missing their exams because of clogged roads.
All of these claims were made or reiterated yesterday by Government Ministers and by Kent County Council.
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
Answers to latest absurd threats by HMG and Local Authority

  • Any border problems would come from act of economic aggression by the EU
  • EU policy is for electronic system of customs clearance
  • Non-EU goods already pass into EU seamlessly
  • Any action by the EU would halt Irish exports to EU
  • Such action would also stop £75 billion per year of German exports into UK
www.facts4eu.org    Sources: See article
ACT OF ECONOMIC AGGRESSION
In order for any of these wild claims to be remotely true, it would require deliberate action on the part of the EU to make their borders as difficult as possible for normal trade to work.
Putting aside the immediate action that the UK would take against the EU at the World Trade Organisation and the UNECE for breaking its rules, there is a more fundamental point to make.
If the EU were to introduce vindictive and unreasonable checks at their ports on 30 March next year, it would be doing so to punish the United Kingdom for leaving.
It would in effect be an act of economic aggression against the UK.
The EU would even be in breach of its own Treaties, let alone international law.
How can anyone believe that it’s right to stay in such a malevolent organisation?
That argument alone is a key one, and is not one you will hear from the BBC or Sky. Who would want to be part of a club which was so evil?
WHAT HAPPENS AT BORDERS?
The world has been moving to a system of pre-clearing goods for customs purposes for many years. It is official WTO policy and the EU itself has such a system, as well as a legal requirement on all member states to comply.
The EU is now moving swiftly to an enhanced and fully electronic system. This is mandatory and the UK’s HMRC says that the UK system will be in place in January, ahead of the EU’s deadline.
Physical checks of goods involve a tiny proportion of trade. Depending on the border in question this is around 2%, and these checks are generally intelligence-led.
For example, the Chairman of the Board of the Irish Revenue Commissioners told a Committee of the Irish parliament in 2017 that :
“Less than 2% were physically checked. The vast majority of these checks were carried out in approved warehouses and other premises with a very small number at a port or airport”
- Niall Cody, Chairman, Irish Revenue Commissioners, testimony to Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach debate, 25 May 2017
WHAT ABOUT GOODS FROM OUTSIDE THE EU?
What is almost never mentioned by Remainer MPs is that borders exist between independent countries all around the world. And hundreds of billions of pounds worth of goods enter the UK’s and the EU’s ports every year from non-EU countries.
Strangely these international (non-EU) goods pass through into the UK and EU without involving massive gridlock or trucks backed-up in their countries of origin.
THE FINAL KILLER FACTS
If the EU were instantly to make life as difficult as possible for goods travelling to the EU from the UK on 30 March 2019, this would be an act of enormous self-harm.
1. Republic of Ireland goods travel through the UK to mainland EU
The EU claims to be Ireland’s best friend in the Brexit negotiations. If Southern England becomes gridlocked for six months as a result of vindictive action by the EU, what happens to exports to the rest of the EU from the Republic of Ireland?
The majority of these travel across the Irish Sea, through the UK, and down to Dover. Obviously they would not be able to be delivered to mainland EU and the Irish economy would be in big trouble.
2. EU’s goods exports to the UK
The other consequence of vindictive action by the EU is obvious, but is never stated. (Except by us.)
If Southern England becomes gridlocked, what happens to EU exports into the UK? Let’s just take one EU country: Germany.
Last year Germany’s businesses sold over £75 billion (pounds) worth of goods to the UK.
© Facts4EU.Org 2018
How is Germany going to react to these goods not being delivered to their British destinations, because the UK’s roads are gridlocked by ideological EU action?
OBSERVATIONS
The repetition of Project Fear fantasies always look at the UK being harmed. Sadly, broadcasters such as the BBC and Sky News jump gleefully on these, as they did yesterday.
What you don’t hear are the logical questions arising out of such Armageddon-like claims. Never do you hear any question about the EU’s behaviour if it undertook such aggressive action, and what it says about the EU.
Nor do you hear questions about the consequences for the EU if they were to be so stupid.
Above we have summarised a few of the obvious questions and the answers, and we hope readers including MPs will find this useful.
RULES-BASED?
The EU is always describing itself as a rules-based organisation. After three years of intensive study, there’s really only one way we can characterise this.
Piffle and balderdash.
EU member states break the ‘rules’ all the time and the EU Commission turns a blind eye and subsequently gives special dispensations or changes the rules later. We have observed this so many times that we simply laugh when we hear the likes of Michel Barnier, Jean-Claude Juncker, or Donald Tusk coming out with such absurdities.
And yes, we have published examples many times.
The exceptions recently of course relate to those countries with ‘Populist’ governments which the EU doesn’t like. Then the EU turns nasty.
This then brings everyone neatly back to questioning the behaviour of these unelected and fanatical ideologues.

Message: The current PM Theresa May is in my opinion attempting to keep the United Kingdom in the EU despite having pledged to honour the result of the 2016 referendum. She has repeatedly lied and changed her position so many times. Her preposterous dealings with the EU have demonstrated that she has not honestly represented her electorate with her duplicitous actions. This has been her plan all along to rob the people and this country of its future prosperity and freedom. She has treated the people with utter contempt and I feel it is as close to treason as I can think of.

Message: I just wanted to give a shout out for your excellent 'Brexit Flyer'. I saw your messages on social media and I agree that this is urgent. I've printed out 50 and will go around my area this evening, putting them in letterboxes. If we all do this around the country it will increase the pressure on MP's to respect the result of the referendum. They're a total shower and need to be told in my view. Every one of these they get in their offices on Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday will make them think.
Reply: Thanks Sam. For those who haven't seen it here's the link to the latest article about this, with a link to the flyer.

Message: Great articles to remind MPs about the WTO and the myth of delays. Remain MPs and peers have a great deal of explaining to do WHY they hide the facts they find here at Brexit Facts4EU.org because when all said and done, if MPs disclosed these facts IN PARLIAMENT, it would immediately challenge remain [and some Brexiteer] MPs? Let them challenge Prime Minister May with these facts?
Recent House of Commons debates about our exit from the stranglehold of the EU have become REALLY boring for those who watch/listen. We know that in the main MPs are well aware their words are televised, yet all we've heard is doom and gloom from many MPs I believe are unaware of actual facts about the EU operation (or they don't want us to know)? They appear to spin the party line for all its worth. Perhaps they need to voice the many positives of Brexit?
MPs need to consider trade works both ways, and we need only look at what's happening across France just now. Maybe I was asleep, but I haven't heard a single MP comment on what delays may be caused by domestic issues in France, which I hasten to add are NOT 'despite Brexit'!
I want MPs and remainers to stop frightening younger generations. Brexit is a good thing and the world will not grind to a halt. It means we will again be an independent self governing nation state, and it's up to all of us to make OUR country work, instead of being a piggy-bank for the EU.
The electorate are not stupid, and MPs should be mindful of this FACT.

Message: It shows how desperate May's team are to get this "deal" capitulation over the line. Unfortunately the MPs are not buying it, or the voters. The more they ramp up project fear the more people dismiss it. You can check online to seek the truth and people do. Bank of England chief Mark Carney's 10% drop in GDP being one of the most ludicrous. After the Great War 1914-18 GDP only dropped 8%. So leaving the EU is worse than one million dead and four years of brutal war! Keep producing the facts and we will eventually leave the EU hopefully for good on 29th March 2019.

Message: I remember so vividly when May, in an interview - extremely unprofessionally and childishly - deliberately leaked Trump's suggestion given in a private manner to her: to sue the EU. May looked pathetic as usual as she tried to show exaggeratedly how supercilious, scornful and detractive she was about Trump and the idea. History now shows that actually it was a good suggestion - if we'd sued the EU then that would have given us a much better position. No need to worry that it would have affected the EU's good will, as there was/is none. They only understand upper-hand and that's about it.
 LAST CHANCE SALOON?
IF YOU BELIEVE IN BREXIT,
YOU NOW HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT… AGAIN
In 2016, we won. All of us. You won, we won, Vote Leave, Leave.EU and UKIP won, pro-Brexit special interest groups won, all the thousands of people combining in local groups - of all parties and none - across the length and breadth of the country WON.
We defeated the massed battalions of British and international Establishment forces lined up to brainwash, bully and pressure the voters of the United Kingdom into more decades chained to a dysfunctional and failing ideological edifice called the European Union.
We won. Phew.
Oh, wait.......
Almost immediately the Remainer Establishment started their fightback. Prime Minister David Cameron resigned, instead of invoking Article 50 as he had promised to do “the next day”. Spurious High Court cases began, and an online parliamentary petition to overturn the result gained over 4 million signatures within days.
Three days after the vote, the Cabinet Minister the Rt Hon Jeremy Hunt MP was on TV saying: “It is essential we remain inside the Single Market.” Yes, the same Jeremy Hunt who is now Foreign Secretary and who has apparently claimed himself to be pro-Brexit.
The second weekend after the vote there was a mass march through the streets of London, by people unable to respect a democratic vote. It secured huge TV coverage, of course.
Within two weeks of winning the Referendum, it seemed that it had become acceptable to question the result on every level. The pro-Remain BBC, Sky News, and ITN joined in with gusto, feeling themselves free of the shackles of supposedly maintaining objectivity during the official campaign period itself.
AND WHAT ABOUT US?
At Brexit Facts4EU.Org, we published the news of the victory during the night of 24 June 2016 and have continued publishing every day thereafter. Looking back now at what we wrote in the days following the vote, we take no pleasure in describing it as prescient. We did not leave the stage.
We saw all the signs that whilst the battle had been won, the war was far from over.
Others might have gone on holiday, but we didn’t.
WHY ARE WE TELLING YOU THIS?
Below we are once again appealing to our readers, social media followers, and every pro-Brexit organisation out there.
We weren’t wrong about any of this. We soldiered on with insufficient (although generous) amounts of funding by individual readers, with daily articles which fought back against the rising tide of Remainist propaganda using our continuing research of facts from official sources, as ever.
So when we ask everyone to rise up today and deliver our leaflet or risk losing Brexit, we hope this appeal will be taken seriously.
DO IT PLEASE.   NOW.
The ONLY chance now is to hit MPs hard with the prospect of losing their jobs forever if they don’t respect the largest democratic vote in the history of the United Kingdom.
And the most effective way of doing that is to use our leaflet, going door-to-door or at stalls in the shopping streets. The leaflet is a simple way of getting MPs deluged with envelopes in their offices in the Palace of Westminster. Old-fashioned? Yes. Effective? Yes.
We truly hope you will read and act on what follows in the piece below. We may well be entering the last chance saloon for Brexit.
This has been a heartfelt plea from the Brexit Facts4EU.Org team.

THE OLD-FASHIONED WAY

The PM will be leafleting today in her constituency
WE NEED TO GET OUT THERE TODAY, PEOPLE!
On Sunday we asked for your thoughts on a leaflet designed to get people sending it to their MP. On Wednesday (5th December) we published our leaflet.
“Your leaflet is the best I’ve seen yet.” – Unsolicited email from national official of major party, 06 December 2018
(Brexit Facts4Eu.Org immediately agreed to their request to use it nationally.)
“Love your flyer - we decided to spend the 8th leafleting in Maidenhead (Theresa May's constituency). We'll be printing off and distributing - nice one!” – Local Brexit campaign group, South of England
These are just two examples in the last 24 hours of the huge number of positive messages we’ve received. No flyer can ever be perfect for everyone, but it seems that this one is something everyone wants to use.
HERE’S THE LEAFLET / FLYER

THE PRIME MINISTER IS LEAFLETTING TODAY, IN MAIDENHEAD
Sadly we doubt that the PM will be using our leaflet.
If Theresa May is leafleting in her own constituency today, why not join her? We don’t have a copy of her leaflet, but we’ll bet a pound to a penny it’s not a patch on ours!
We were unable to persuade a large Brexit organisation to print and distribute copies of the leaflet around the country, so we can only ask you to print as many copies as possible yourselves.
If you have no printing facilities, we are hoping to persuade some local pro-Brexit business owners to print some for you to collect. Please contact us via email or via our contact form here.
OBSERVATIONS
FIGHT BACK FOR BREXIT NOW
We believe this is the ONLY initiative which now stands any chance of persuading MPs to deliver in full on Brexit.
The message is simple:
“Respect my vote or lose it forever”
This can only work if MPs start receiving hundreds of letters in their office in Westminster or in their local constituency office.
And it can only work if you start on this today. Thousands have already done so but we need everyone to do a little something today. Let’s inundate those undemocratic MPs who think their view matters more than the majority of the British public.
The point is to show that we are not defeated. The point is to say that we've never changed our minds. The point is to take action NOW to defend Brexit and beyond that our democratic rights.
And remember, emails to MPs are great, but they don’t have anything like the impact of a sackful of mail !
If you can help us with a donation, we're really in need of your help right now. Please see the links below this article.
Every pound goes to the cause of delivering effective output like that above. You will not be subsidising expenses such as dinners with politicians, taxis across Westminster, plush Westminster offices, secretaries, etc.

It received Royal Assent on 26 March 2015 after being introduced on 11 September 2014.
The coalition government of the UK gave a commitment in the 2010 Coalition Agreement to bring forward the power of recall. More details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recall_of_MPs_Act_2015
This could be a very good way of getting rid of MP's. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or ability to fully look at this but you may have and it may be another tool with which to fight against those treacherous MP's who are not respecting the referendum result.
I have donated to you before and will do so again when I can afford to. Please keep up the good fight and I wish you all the best.

You are supporting Project Fear and lying to us about the 'loss of jobs' and 'damage to the economy'etc - You know it and so do we.
You do, however, have a point because we - the 17.4 million majority - will vote you out of power at the first opportunity as your decision not to accept the instruction of the people, for whatever reason, will damage both your job prospects and income, permanently.
Britain will be a free and independent country with or without you. Now is the time for you to actually do what you are paid for and were elected to do, either carry out the instructions your employers have given you or get sacked. Yours....

 ‘RESPECT MY VOTE,
OR LOSE YOUR JOB’
Right now, MPs are continuing to debate
how bad Theresa May’s Withdrawal Agreement really is
BUT MOST OF THEM WANT TO REPLACE IT WITH REMAIN
URGENT ACTION IS NEEDED BY ALL OF US
We know Mrs May’s agreement with the EU is bad. You know it’s bad. It’s possibly the worst Treaty that the British government has ever proposed signing up to in British history.
THE TOP, TOP PRIORITY
Every day readers hear MPs talking about how they believe another Referendum or another General Election is needed. You hear them regurgitating their failed arguments about staying in the EU.
They will almost certainly vote against Mrs May's deal.
But they want to use this action to stop Brexit.
They can’t accept that they lost.
It’s up to you to remind them.
PLEASE PRINT AND DELIVER THIS LEAFLET TODAY
© Brexit Facts4EU.Org
Please click to open the printable version
THIS IS IN YOUR HANDS
It’s now up to you to leaflet your local communities today, just like you did in the original Referendum campaign, asking people to tell their MPs to respect democracy. Thousands of people are now doing this. Together, we can make a difference.
The leaflet is based on what readers and social media followers told us would work, together with some input from us. If you prefer, ask us for the Word version and amend it.
PLEASE print this out today and deliver as many as you can. And we would love it if you tell us how many you’ve delivered!
(And don’t forget to post your own copy to your MP today!)
THE KEY MESSAGE
Remember, the key message to MPs is “Respect my vote or I’ll vote you out of your job”.
At this late stage, this is the only message that will help. MPs MUST be told.
Not only must MPs reject Theresa May’s surrender document, they must accept that leaving on WTO terms – with some side agreements on citizens rights, flights, etc – is the only option now.
Remember, the majority of the World trades with the EU, and they don’t have to be in the Single Market or Customs Union to do so. They trade fundamentally on WTO terms. It’s normal.
LET’S MOBILISE AGAIN!
We live in dangerous times for Brexit.
This needs to happen right now
if it’s going to have an impact.
Will you now print this and deliver as many as you can in your area today and in the coming days?
Please get behind this. We are here to help. You can get in touch using our contact form or by emailing direct to . (Sorry, this is an image to protect us from spammer robots.) We can even provide a Word version if you wish to change some wording to suit your local area, or to add local contact details.
We had hoped to persuade one of the big Brexit organisations to fund the printing of these flyers, but alas we were unsuccessful. Nevertheless, large numbers of people said they would print copies themselves if we provided a PDF version of the flyer.
We are also hoping to persuade pro-Brexit businesses nationally to agree to print some off, for collection by local people, but we ask all people reading this to start printing themselves, and delivering today.
Note: This leaflet is our copyright. Permission is granted to private individuals and to small, local pro-Brexit groups to print and distribute it on their own behalf. Permission will also be granted to Brexit organisations but they must contact us prior to use. Please note that we have NOT branded it with our logo. This leaflet is a generic message and it’s not about one organisation, it's about all of us.
OBSERVATIONS
What is the point?
There always will be a few asking just that.
The point is to show that we are not defeated. The point is to say that we've never changed our minds. The point is to take action NOW to defend Brexit and beyond that our democratic rights.
We - together with the vast majority of our readers - strongly believe that this immediate action can have the biggest impact. This is based on nearly three years of daily monitoring and analysing events.
Not doing anything and sitting back, hoping and waiting, are luxuries we simply can't afford right now.
If you can help us with a donation, we're really in need of your help right now. Please see the links below this article.

WTO – THE WAY TO GO
Part One
86% OF WORLD SALES TO EU DON’T NEED
SINGLE MARKET OR CUSTOMS UNION
© Facts4EU.Org 2018
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
In 2017, 200 non-EU countries and states from around the world
sold products to the EU worth €1.8 trillion

86% OF GLOBAL SALES INTO THE EU
ARE FROM COUNTRIES WHICH ARE
  • Not in the Single Market
  • Not in the Customs Union
These countries are :
  • Not paying for access
  • Not having EU laws imposed on their parliaments and their peoples
  • Not having EU laws imposed on all their businesses
  • Not having to allow free movement
  • Not allowing the EU to try to take part of their territory
www.facts4eu.org    Source: Official EU statistics for 2017, Eurostat
WHERE DOES THIS RESEARCH COME FROM?
Brexit Facts4EU.Org conducted research into the trade figures for 2017 from the official statistics body serving the EU Commission. Their list includes everyone from little islands to the major economies such as China and the USA. Technically some of the small islands are not countries, but they’re on the EU’s official list so we’ve included them.
In order to give you a very clear picture of how easy it is to sell into the EU, we then excluded EEA and EFTA countries and those with any form of close relationship, such as Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Turkey and others. In other words we looked at all the countries selling into the EU perfectly successfully, without EU complications.
THE UK COULD BE ONE OF THESE NORMAL, INDEPENDENT COUNTRIES
If the vast majority of global sales into the EU come from countries which are not members of the EU’s Single Market or Customs Union, why shouldn’t the UK become one of them on 29 March next year?
If 200 countries and states can do it, why can’t the United Kingdom? This is the NORMAL way of selling to the EU.
WHO ARE THE 40 TOP SELLERS?
Our list of independent countries and states manages to sell to the EU without being in the EU’s Single Market, the Customs Union, or the EEA.
Below we narrow this down to show the top 40 countries selling into the EU in 2017, without any of the complications which Remain MPs and peers wish the UK to have with the EU.
© Facts4EU.Org 2018
The countries above - and another 160-odd countries and states - sold to the EU last year without having to accept free movement, nor having to have their laws made in the EU, nor having to pay billions per year to the EU.
They most certainly didn't have to give up their sovereignty, as Theresa May is proposing to do with her 'Withdrawal Agreement'.
And yet last year they sold goods worth over €1.8 trillion euros to the EU.
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
SELLING INTO EU WITHOUT CUSTOMS UNION & SINGLE MARKET
  • Almost 80% of the EU’s imports come from 40 independent countries around the world
  • These countries are not members of the Single Market but they sell successfully to the EU
  • They are not members of the Customs Union but they sell successfully to the EU
  • They are not members of the EEA but they sell successfully to the EU
  • They have control of their borders, their money, and their laws, but they sell successfully to the EU
  • And the only country in the top 40 with a full, ratified Free Trade Agreement with the EU is South Korea
OBSERVATIONS
MOST MPs DON’T HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT TRADE
It is a sad fact that MPs are standing up in the House of Commons on a daily basis, telling the British people that memberships of the EU Single Market and the EU Customs Union are essential.
This Brexit Facts4EU.Org report, based on analysis of official EU data, shows clearly that this is not the case.
The vast majority of sales into the EU are from normal, independent countries over whom the EU does not have the dominance and control which Theresa May is proposing to accept in her disastrous ‘Withdrawal Agreement’.
Exiting on WTO terms is normal. Theresa May's deal isn't.

Message: Trade issues are again on the agenda because we have MPs and peers who fail to see the big picture. They want to keep us trapped in the protectionist EU. As so clearly pointed out in the above article, "WTO - The Way To Go".
MPs entering their third day of debate in The House of Commons should be discussing WTO terms and the points made here in order the EU hear this loud and clear. MPs MUST explain why the majority of the world trades into the EU without all the hassle the UK has to put up with. This is one very good reason for leaving EU institutions. Another good reason is to stop propping up the rest of the EU with UK £billions needed at home.
Consider this, the UK is the EU's largest market place [dealt with in a previous Facts4EU article] meaning EU businesses would have no reason to obstruct trading with the UK. For the EU, this would be an act of self harm of their own making. On that basis alone, we should not allow the dictatorial EU to create issues, and firmly TELL them that should they wish to continue trading into lucrative UK markets, they would do well to ignore the unaccountable EU commission.
The UK will again be an independent self-governing nation in every respect. We are leaving the EU political union to join the rest of the trading world free from EU interference. WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE?
The UK should trade into the EU just as all other countries mentioned above do. EU member countries should in my view review their own trading arrangements and ask themselves, do they REALLY need the EU? As I often say, you don't need to pay to be friendly and trade together, and this article proves just that. To do otherwise is extortion.

Message: Another excellent, and imo, irrefutable argument for WTO. Off topic, I'm sure many readers have also listened to the turgid debate in the HOC, with the honourable exception of John Redwood MP. I thought I was in the heady days of 2016 when I heard Tim Farron say, yesterday:
"Let us not kid ourselves, a referendum has the capacity to be divisive. Divisive, but decisive. Whichever option was picked by the people would come into effect without further debate or delay."
That's what we voted for in 2016 Mr Farron.

RESULTS OF OUR POLL
Brexit Facts4EU.Org is pleased to report the final results of its 48-hour online Twitter poll regarding a ground campaign to hit MPs hard, leafleting door-to-door to ask people to contact their MP immediately.
From the sample of 1204 people (comparable with national poll sample sizes), 86% of respondents said “Yes, let’s do it”.
In addition, we received many emails and private messages from individuals and local groups across the country, each of them offering to deliver hundreds or thousands of leaflets, and many of them offering to print these flyers themselves.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS CAMPAIGN?
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
The objectives are simple
  1. To persuade everyday Leave voters to pressure their MPs right now – not after these MPs have voted to thwart Brexit
  2. To simplify and clarify the latest pro-Brexit messages to people who are being brainwashed by May and the media
WHAT WE DID
We asked readers and social media followers what they thought was important. We combined this with our own fact-based and bullet-point approach and have produced a leafet which is punchy but effective. Please see our article below for more details.
OBSERVATIONS
THE TIME IS NOW
We need the help of all readers, all social media followers, and the specialist Brexit groups with whom we cooperate on a regular basis.
MPs are set on thwarting a true Brexit. Whilst it seems inevitable that they will vote down Mrs May’s travesty ‘deal’, the MPs seem determined to prevent a clean, WTO terms Brexit on 29th March next year.
Let’s do this now!

Message: Off topic anecdote: Yesterday I stood outside the HOP with some 35-50 supporters of Leave means Leave. It was interesting to talk to a tourist from the USA and a Chinese girl who was studying a Business Course about Brexit and the Leave position.
A camera man and a woman walked through those gathered. Two of us heard the woman, in an audible whisper say "tw*ts".
I didn't see the face, but I was told it was a woman wearing a BBC lanyard around her neck.
It was a pity she didn't stop to interview the tw*ts protesting. We could have told her why 17.4 million other tw*ts voted Leave.
 TIME TO ATTACK
MPs ARE SET ON OVERTURNING BREXIT
IN THE COMING DAYS AND WEEKS
HERE'S THE ANSWER
It’s time for the ground campaign - NOW!
In 2016 thousands of ordinary people campaigned for Leave. They did so door-to-door, at market stalls, at public meetings, and in many other ways. They reached out and connected with millions who had never even voted before.
LET’S MOBILISE AGAIN!
Below is a leaflet which we have produced based on comments from ordinary Leave voters in the last two days. It highlights some key points and most importantly asks the public to act now, by telling their MPs in no uncertain terms to respect the Referendum result in full.
This needs to happen right now
if it’s going to have an impact.
Will you now print this and deliver as many as you can in your area today and in the coming days?

THE LEAFLET
It’s clear from MPs speaking in the Commons yesterday that a majority are now hell-bent on preventing a true Brexit from happening.
Yes, they will almost certainly vote down Mrs May’s abomination of a ‘Withdrawal Agreement’, but they plan to do everything they can to stop the UK leaving on WTO terms on 29th March next year.
Respect for the largest democratic vote in British history is going out of the window. Never mind that these MPs backed the holding of the Referendum by 6 to 1. Never mind that the government promised to invoke Article 50 the next day. Never mind that 85% of the General Election vote in 2017 went to parties promising in their manifestos to deliver the Referendum vote.
Now these undemocratic MPs think they know best. They are planning to thwart Brexit in any way they can and to overturn your vote.
TOGETHER WE CAN STOP THEM!

Message: Form printed out, signed, in envelope, stamped, and ready to send to my MP.
MPs attempting to subvert Brexit may now be considered just as corrupt [in my opinion] as the unelected, undemocratic and unaccountable EU bureaucrats. The EU must be popping their champaign corks.
Taxpayer funded MPs have brought shame upon the UK Parliament and shame upon our country. Many MPs are of good character and conscience, though many have proven themselves less so. They have taken control over Brexit in a bid to subvert it and must be stopped.
The electorate made a sovereign decision in a LEGAL referendum that Parliament itself supported, and voted for, by almost 6:1 to give the British people our say, and an Act of Parliament was born in 2015.
Step by step and by stealth, remain MPs (and some Brexiteer MPs), can no longer be considered democratic when they ignore the largest democratic expression in British history. This is now a constitutional crisis.
MPs held the UK Government in contempt, so by their own standards, MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT MAY NOW BE HELD IN CONTEMPT BY THE UK ELECTORATE. They were given a clear instruction by the majority electorate.

 THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE
© Daily Telegraph
HOW FAR WILL OUR DEMOCRACY FALL?
In 2017 the Conservative government of Theresa May retained power following the General Election - and no-one challenged the result.
Even with the first-past-the-post voting system in the UK, Mrs May failed to achieve a majority of seats, resulting in a ‘confidence and supply’ agreement with the DUP’s MPs in order to stay in power.
The Conservative Party achieved 42.4% of the vote, with Labour just behind on 40.0%. It was a narrow victory. A larger margin of victory was achieved by Leave voters in the EU Referendum.
Yet no-one pursued High Court actions to overturn the result of the General Election. No-one went to the ECJ in Luxembourg.
As Mrs May’s combination of incompetence and lack of desire to implement Brexit became fully apparent, there were no claims that “When they voted, no-one knew how awful her government would be.” No-one demanded that the General Election be re-run.
THIS IS ABOUT THE ESTABLISHMENT
In this morning’s Daily Telegraph, former Conservative leader William Hague tells its readers that “Parliament doesn’t want No Deal, and MPs will kill it dead.”
He goes on to argue that MPs will find ways to frustrate Brexit completely in the coming weeks and gives many examples of how they can do so. He does so without any hint of shame or embarrassment.
THE REFERENDUM RESULT WAS AN INSTRUCTION TO LEAVE THE EU
The people gave the politicians an instruction. There is simply no question about this. It was confirmed by all senior politicians, many times, in writing and on the radio and television. It was even in the Government’s official leaflet, delivered to every household in the UK.
The people did not give a conditional answer, dependent on whether the government proved incompetent to negotiate with the EU. We were told that this was a once in a lifetime decision.
There was no “See what you can negotiate and then we’ll vote again.”  It was simple: the majority of people voted to leave the EU. And the Prime Minister promised to trigger Article 50 “the next day”.
The default answer to Brexit is therefore that the UK should leave the EU at the end of the Article 50 notice period on 29 April 2019, regardless of what arrangements are or are not made with the EU before then.
“A FULL BREXIT, OR WE VOTE YOU OUT”
If - as William Hague and many Parliamentarians assert they will - MPs reject Mrs May’s abomination of a ‘deal’, and are then determined to stop an exit on normal WTO terms, then we have a major constitutional crisis on our hands.
In fact it’s far worse than that. The chattering classes will talk of all the constitutional matters. A large part of the country will talk of the end of democracy in the United Kingdom.
It is our contention that only the most direct and stark warning must now be given to the Establishment and in particular to all MPs.
“Deliver a full exit from the EU, as you were instructed, or we’ll vote you out.”
OBSERVATIONS
It’s our view that if people don’t immediately assert their power over MPs, a set of consequences are likely to ensue in the coming weeks which could cause not only an effective dismissal of the Referendum result, but could also unleash consequences affecting the fabric of society and the compact between ordinary people and the State.
WHAT TO DO NEXT
Brexit Facts4EU.Org is in the process of producing a leaflet or ‘flyer’ for delivery to households. We are doing this whilst taking on board the ideas of readers and social media followers for its wording.
Later we will publish the results of our poll on Twitter about this.
We will also summarise our advice to all those who believe in democracy – whether they voted Leave or Remain in the Referendum – on what should be done next.
We were not wrong from the very beginning when we argued that the EU would never do a sensible deal with the UK. We knew the fanatics in the EU hierarchies would never behave normally.
We don’t think we’re wrong now. Either we fight, and explain clearly to people what is going on, or we lose Brexit.
We are talking to other pro-Brexit organisations about them supporting our initiatives.
As ever, we welcome your views. Please do email us using our contact form or direct to . Sorry, this is an image to protect us from spammer robots.

Message: What is needed is to get a campaign to rid ourselves of the 3 old establishment parties, the House of Lords, and the biased BBC and start again. We as a People and Country allow sore loser Remoaners to keep us in the EU and ECHR against our will. We must leave the EU unilaterally. We can support other parties like the Time Party, UKIP, and Populist Party. If we allow this treachery we may as well stay at home and watch overweight has-been celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing instead, or god awful X factor.

Message: I have just written to the SMUG, arrogant William Hague assuring him that if this deal goes through, a constitutional crisis will be the least of his worries; there will be insurrection, anarchy and a complete meltdown of democracy and the Conservative Party. If Parliament cannot observe the basic rules of decency, integrity, honour and lawful behaviour, why should the rest of society? What a pathetic disappointment this man is. Take careful note of the current meltdown in France, William. This is what happens when the Elite consider that the views of the electorate who voted for them are of no consequence or significance and treat them with utter contempt! Beware! We are coming for you!

Message: I personally think that the only way of saving Brexit now is to join EFTA (or EFTA+EEA) for a period of a few years. It isn't what we want, but anything closer to a true Brexit just isn't going to happen, given the numbers currently in the House. Hague is dead right. I am convinced that the only thing which will stop another Referendum (which will be rigged to ensure a Remain victory) is to join EFTA. This at least gets us out of the EU legally, and the Remainers would have a much harder job to rejoin, given that it would involve joining the Euro and no rebate. Regarding lobbying MPs, in many cases and including in my constituency, this would be completely futile. My MP Claire Perry is on record as describing many of her constituents as 'Swivel eyed idiots' (meaning retired people).
Reply: Thanks Chris. Obviously as a long-standing reader you already know we disagree on both points.

Message: Dear Mr. Hague (and all other politicians and 'Lords'),
HOW DARE YOU! You had a vote in the referendum, just like me. Now, you want to overturn the decision to leave (be honest) because you and others didn't like the result. The leave vote was despite all the threats and armageddon that would befall us, so yes, we voted to leave with 'no deal'. That's what you told us loudly and often it would be. We still voted to leave and will deal with any deliberately placed bumps in the road as an independent country.
You really are so divorced from reality that you neither see, nor understand, what you have unleashed. Your lies and betrayals have opened the eyes of many to the political machinations of the EU's highly paid Parish Council, supported by (EU) snivel serpents. The sheer depth and breadth of the widespread corruption that our so-called democratic institutions has embraced has been an eye-opener for many. NONE of you will ever be trusted again. You have proved untrustworthy to represent the interests of the people of this country, or protect it. More people than ever now take an active interest in what you're up to. What the bleatings from Parliament tell us is that you consider yourselves incompetent in your roles, preferring to be told what to do by a foreign bureaucratic power. In that case, you should go.
If our vote counts for nothing, then neither does yours, nor any future vote - and that includes any of your 'laws' as Parliament will be considered illegitimate. For once, I shall be grateful for EU law which is superior law until we leave which states that we must leave, deal or not, on 29th March 2019. Of course, that tells us your next plan for which the pieces are currently being put into place. Of course, you could have spent the last 2.5 years putting into place actions for 29th March but you've spent it whinging publicly and subverting democracy in private. Then you'll bleat that 'we're' not prepared. It won't wash. We all know that any mess has been contrived by those having a toddler tantrum for not getting their own way and that includes the dreadful WA.
The people are not stupid.

Message: I went to my local bookmakers, Geoffrey Cox Bookies. I wanted to place a bet on a horse called Brexit, running in the EU Handicap Stakes. The trainer of the horse, Olly Robins said he was 'uncomfortable' about the horse's chance. My bookie said it was worth the risk of a bet as the horse would use 'best endeavours' to win. If I wasn't happy about the result of the race, it would go to a Stewards' enquiry: arbitration. The bookie had no vested interest in his advice. I know that to be true, because he has backed a horse called Withdrawal Agreement.

WE HAVE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU
DO YOU WANT ACTION ON BREXIT?
Yesterday Brexit Facts4EU.Org asked a question of our thousands of followers on social media.
Our idea is to produce a simple, bullet-pointed flyer. It could summarise in everyday language :-
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
  • Why Theresa’s Brexit isn’t Brexit at all
  • How Brexit is still the right decision for the country
  • The bullying way the EU has behaved
  • How we exit the EU on WTO terms with some agreements on citizens rights, aviation, etc
  • There would be no hard border between N.I. and the Republic
  • Why people should write to their MP today
This leaflet could then be delivered door-to-door by as many ordinary people as possible, to as many doors as possible.
ADDED BENEFIT
Many initiatives have spin-off benefits and this one is no exception. Would you like to have a list of the key arguments about Brexit and where we are now? The process of deciding what goes on the leaflet would achieve this, for use on social media and in everyday conversations. Who knows, some MPs might even start to use the points.
OUR CHALLENGE TO YOU
We could draft such a leaflet, but we thought we would ask you, our thousands of readers, for your ideas. We believe it would be refreshing to have a leaflet designed to appeal to ordinary people, by ordinary people, not dictated from on high.
Here is an example that we received overnight, from a regular reader who first emailed us on Saturday about taking action. As part of our answer on Sunday morning we thought we would throw out the challenge to that reader. We think the result is very good.
The example is too long as you can see – our fault for not specifying a smaller number of words to this reader. Nevertheless it gives you some idea.
HOW TO INPUT YOUR IDEAS
Firstly, some golden rules. Your version must :-
  • Be less than 300 words – if it’s less than 200 words so much the better
  • It must say something about rejecting Theresa’s awful ‘deal’
  • It must be positive about Brexit itself
  • It must reassure people about a WTO terms exit
  • It must stress the need to respect in full the democratic Referendum vote
  • It must ask people to write to their MP – TODAY!
Then simply copy and paste this into our contact form, or send it as an attachment to our email address . Sorry, this is an image to protect us from spammer robots.
THE TIME IS NOW
We only have days before the Commons vote on Theresa May’s non-Brexit Brexit ‘deal’. Either we mobilise now or the consequences could be dire. Whilst there appears to be no chance of her deal being approved, the fall-out is anyone’s guess.
Imagine if it resulted in a subsequent vote for another referendum, when the result of the original Referendum hasn’t even been implemented?
If you’d like to contribute your version, please do it today!
HOW WE CAN USE THIS TO BEST EFFECT
We are in discussions with many other Brexit organisations, some of whom will back this. Your contribution may well be included in something which will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people – maybe millions.
In an ideal world we would love it if this flyer could be delivered at the same time as a postcard onto which people could write their name and address, affix a stamp, and send off to their MP at the House of Commons.
Below we give an example of such a postcard, from our friends at Scots for Leave. It’s from a few weeks ago and naturally the new version would look different. However the stalwart souls from Scots for Leave went out and delivered thousands of these, often in harsh weather!

Or you could look at a postcard delivered by ‘Leavers of Dorset’.

OBSERVATIONS
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
Our team is known for its detailed analysis of facts regarding the EU and Brexit and for our ability to distil these official facts into short, punchy articles with simple, ‘at-a-glance’ charts.
We’ve been doing this 364 days a year for nearly three years, publishing unique and original work daily. Because we research from official sources (mostly EU Commission, EU Council, EU Parliament, plus UK government, ONS, OBR, IMF, World Bank, etc), our work is almost never contested by Remainers.
Recently however we’ve felt we had to produce some campaigning articles. We’ve done this because we live in dangerous times for our democracy and for the delivery of Brexit. We see the need as being urgent now.
We hope to hear from you today with your version of the proposed flyer!
Remember, this is about democracy, sovereignty, and your freedom.
IN THE MOOD FOR MORE?
If you’re now in the mood for action, why not try out our Brexit Battle Pack? It’s full of great ideas for how you can help the cause of a true, clean Brexit.
Want facts? We’ve published over 2,000 articles containing everything you might want to know, from official sources. We’ve indexed the last 21 months of these. You can trial our Brexit Index for free, and if you donate for full access it's a great way of supporting our work and at the same time giving yourself access to thousands of Brexit facts at your fingertips.
Let’s go Brexit!

Message: Excellent idea. I would go further by asking all Pro-Brexit newspapers, national and local, to print the flyer in their respective newspapers in order to reach as many people as possible. They did similar prior to the referendum, they should do so again?
This is crunch time for newspapers to decide on which side of the fence they sit? Journalists should contact Brexit Facts4EU.org if they want to support 100% Brexit facts, as there is a wealth of factual information about WTO terms, and on all other Brexit subjects on this site.
Remain MPs would do well to 'educate' themselves on this site, as I fear there are too many MPs who appear to know little about how the EU works. PRO-BREXIT MPs SHOULD CHALLENGE REMAIN MPs IN PARLIAMENT. Here are the facts, let us hear one remain MP try to disprove the facts - THEY CAN'T.
I would respectfully ask Pro-Brexit MPs and peers to publish the flyer on their websites. It is a disgrace we should be 'fighting' for OUR country in peacetime after we had a legal referendum where the majority voted to "Leave the European Union". As Members of Parliament read this over their cornflakes, they should agree that no British citizen elected them into power to give away UK sovereignty. I do not agree that MPs should hand over the governance of our great country to a foreign power. Just think if UK MPs committed such acts of treachery in times of conflict?
When I voted Leave, it did NOT mean remain.
Name: Martine Parry, Portsmouth, UK      Date/Time: 03 Dec 2018, 07.06am
Message: I'm sharing the email I have just sent to Penny Mordaunt, my MP.
Dear Ms Mordaunt, I am writing to you to express my wish as a constituent in Portsmouth that you vote against the Withdrawal Agreement. It is an unacceptable agreement for the UK and does not deliver Brexit in any way that satisfies the outcome of the democratic vote by the UK people of 2016 (the highest turn-out in the history of voting in the UK). It is potentially illegal according to many reports and may split the Union. The EU will still have control of the UK with the UK having no say.
I am disgusted by the conduct of Mrs May and her comrades. I purposefully say 'comrades' as I believe she is not a Conservative but a fifth columnist. She has been duplicitous and mendacious and as a Conservative voter I aim to not vote Conservative again as we have been betrayed. She has been underhand signing us up to EU defence organs as soon as we voted to leave the EU and is not only handing over control to the EU of all our resources but paying billions of pounds of our taxpayers money to them as well! Mrs May has to go.
How dare she and Tusk say that the choice is this deal or no Brexit at all. On what grounds can the result of a democratic vote that the government said they would enact as directed by the people be threatened in this manner and over-turned?
It is clear that the EU does not negotiate (see the debacle of Greece as one example) and that the WTO option for leaving the EU is the best option. The Conservatives under May have wasted 2 years to arrive at this dreadful Withdrawal Agreement that is Brexit in Name Only. In fact IT IS no Brexit at all.
Democracy will have been betrayed if this agreement goes ahead and becomes legally binding as it is no Brexit at all.

What Kind Of World Are We Living In?
Theresa May and her government are lying about Brexit on an epic scale.
As the great character Dr House, played by Hugh Laurie, says: “Everybody lies.” Certainly it is a common refrain used by many people about politicians in particular.
In the case of Mrs May and her government, this reputation for mendacity is being honed and polished until it blinds the great British public. On a daily basis now the Prime Minister is deceiving the people of our country and – yesterday – the World.
Below we bring you two more articles about ‘truth, justice, and the Theresan way’. The first is our Sunday editorial and the second is on the same topic but includes Labour’s similar mendacity.
We hope you will find them informative and thought-provoking.

 WHAT DOES BREXIT MEAN?
DON’T WORRY, THE EU HAS ALREADY DEFINED IT
A Sunday Brexit Facts4EU.Org Editorial
The EU has a definition of what Brexit means. They defined it in Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty which was enacted nine years ago yesterday, on 01 December 2009. It says:
“The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period.”
The key phrase is that the “Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question”. In other words, the UK would no longer have the obligations defined under those treaties. Using this test, the UK will not have left the EU on 29 March 2019.
It is clearly stated in Mrs May’s so-called Withdrawal Agreement that the UK will continue to have virtually all the obligations of EU membership after that date. This of course comes with the added ‘bonus’ that she has cleverly negotiated, viz that the UK will no longer have any say in anything the EU wishes to impose on the British people.
WHERE THERE’S A WILL THERE’S A MAY
So how do Theresa May and her colleagues get away with it?
The answer is simple. They use the future or future continuous tense. “We will be leaving the jurisdiction of the ECJ”, or “We will be leaving the Common Fisheries Policy”, or “We will be able to do trade deals with other countries”.
What they don’t say is when.
And there’s the rub.
Instead of a clean break with the EU after two years as suggested by Article 50, Mrs May is tying the country into a long process lasting for many, many years. When you add the invidious ‘Backstop’ into the mix, she will have given the EU the effective right of veto over whether the UK ever leaves at all.
JOURNALISTS SHOULD START DOING THEIR JOB
If the nation’s journalists – in particular those from the BBC, Sky News and ITN – were not mostly Remainers, they would be asking the Prime Minister and her colleagues one simple question over and over again.
“When?”
It’s such a simple question, and if repeated over and over it would expose the Prime Minister and Cabinet as the charlatans they are. We want actual dates, and therefore the journos will be forced to press the PM for these.
For example: “When exactly will the UK be completely free of any jurisdiction of any kind by the ECJ?” (Answer: a minimum of eight years' time, under Theresa’s plans.)
NOT EVERYONE READS THE SPECTATOR
This may come as a surprise to all the London-centric chattering classes out there, but the majority of people in the country do not follow the twists and turns of Brexit on a daily basis. They have busy lives to lead.
Instead they hear sound-bites. And with these, the Prime Minister is successfully giving the impression that we are leaving the EU on 29 March next year. She is doing so daily.
We would hazard a guess that there are millions out there who have no idea just how awful is the ‘deal’ that Theresa and friends are about to foist on the country. They hear the PM saying we will leave on 29 March next year and they take her at face value, more or less.
LET’S JUST TAKE TRADE
Yesterday the PM was at the G20 Summit in Argentina. In addition to holding one-on-one meetings with the leaders of several countries (but not with President Trump), Mrs May gave a statement to the world’s media.
“And for the first time in more then four decades the UK will have an independent trade policy, playing an active role on the global stage as we take up our seat at the WTO in April 2019.
“That this deal sets a path for the UK to a brighter future has been affirmed by the discussions I have had on trade over the past two days with friends and partners making clear that they are keen to sign and implement ambitious free trade agreements with us as soon as possible.”
- Theresa May, 01 December 2018, G20 Summit, Argentina
The clear impression given to the World’s media and to the British public who saw this on television is that the UK will be able to agree trade deals next year. Not so. In fact there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell.
The PM knows this. Dr Liam Fox, International Trade Secretary, knows this. The entire Cabinet and the majority of MPs know this. And yet a large section of the British public doesn’t.
Not only that, but the UK will continue to be bound by the EU’s Common External Tariff, meaning that one of the biggest economic benefits of Brexit is on semi-permanent hold. The UK will have to continue applying absurdly high EU taiffs on imported products. Prices will remain high.
OBSERVATIONS
We would suggest a refrain: "When, Mrs May?"
In these perilous days for Brexit, simple messages are key. The Prime Minister is repeating her lies on a daily basis. We believe that all Brexit groups should be responding daily, with simple messages to the public.
We simply don't believe that Theresa's propaganda is having no effect.
Last week Sky News interviewed Leavers in Bolton - the area with the highest Leave vote in the country - and showed them Theresa's open letter to the public. Extraordinarily they thought it sounded promising.
If the solid citizens of Bolton are starting to be brainwashed, Brexit is in trouble. Brexit groups need to respond on a daily basis, with simple messages showing how the Prime Minister is misleading people. This must happen now, daily, by all groups and then taken up by all local Brexit campaigners across the nation.

Message: Another excellent editorial (and the legal article below) highlighting the most pertinent question that is not being asked - When? The twelfth of never it seems.
Meanwhile, we see the scenery being shuffled into place for the next Act in the dance of illusion, the ultimate betrayal of democracy & the largest mandate for anything in our country's history, with the EU as Executive Director.
There's to be a 'debate'. On what? The decision to leave was made. So we will have a remainer pretending to be a leaver debating a lifelong leaver pretending to be a remainer or reluctant leaver (depending on whatever the policy is today), debating the best way to remain whilst pretending to leave. All broadcast by the EU propaganda arm, the BBC. They really need to change the Corporation's motto to "Liars shall speak lies unto Nations".

Message: I do not want May to represent me or 'negotiate for my best interest' in any situation and on any level and certainly NOT to be in charge of our great country. I wouldn't even trust her to do my weekly shopping. I'd find that she'd give my whole wallet without my knowledge or permission, getting half an item on my shopping list in return, and even that would have conditions attached to it for me having it.

Message: Theresa May is reluctant to release the legal advice from the Attorney General that she and the Cabinet were given on the Northern Irish "backstop". No wonder.
Martin Howe QC, on the Lawyers' for Britain site, 11.11.18 has also given legal advice on the "backstop" to the Cabinet. His conclusion: "I think you are mad, simply mad, if you pursue this course."
Reply: Yes, we covered that in full here:

THOUGHTS ON THE AFTERMATH OF THE REFERENDUM

ON A LAWYER’S MISUSE OF LAWYERLY TALK
By Michael Donnan for Brexit Facts4EU.Org
If nothing else, the aftermath of the Referendum reveals that democracy in the UK is under threat and that the culprits include representatives of the major political parties. I shall take two representative examples.
SIR KEIR STARMER
Up first is Sir Keir Starmer, who, in his article (“Labour won’t be bullied into a bad deal”) in the Sunday Times dated 11.11.2018, stated that there “is no mandate for a no deal”.
That statement is quite mendacious, in the sophistical manner beloved of second-rate lawyers. In the 2016 Referendum, the electorate voted by a clear majority to leave the EU: there were no provisos, no restrictions, no qualifications. It was therefore a vote to leave, come what may. Accordingly, if it proves impossible to persuade the EU to agree an acceptable trade deal, then the UK Parliament already has the implicit authorisation from the electorate to leave without a deal.
It has to be borne in mind that the Referendum was not some kind of opinion poll, nor was it merely advisory: it was a referral by Parliament, in the exercise of parliamentary sovereignty be it noted, to the electorate of a decision as to whether the UK stays in the EU. It follows that the decision should have binding force, in as much as it is an instruction to Parliament to act upon it. To ignore that decision or to seek to subvert it would therefore be an affront not only to democracy but also to the rule of law.
Unfortunately, Sir Keir Starmer has form in this area. As reported in a Sky News article dated 27 August 2017, he told Sky News:
“I think the next step that people will be looking to see is for the Labour Party now to commit to single market and customs union membership for the period after transition, after we have left the European Union.”
- Sir Keir Starmer, 27 August 2017, Sky News
This would be a travesty of the Referendum decision: to leave the EU means leaving the organs (such as the customs union and the single market) that are constitutive of the EU as stated in the Treaty on European Union. Under Article 50 of that treaty, the treaty’s provisions cease to apply to the UK upon expiry of the period prescribed in that Article.
Sir Keir is one of the many pro-EU politicians who, finding themselves on the losing side of the Referendum result, resort to sophistry and other shabby means in an attempt to undermine the electorate’s democratic decision.
THERESA MAY
Up next is Mrs May. Article 89 of the draft agreement being promoted by Mrs May says this:
“Judgements and orders of the Court of Justice of the European Union handed down before the end of the transition period, as well as judgements and orders handed down after the end of the transition period in proceedings referred to in Articles 86 and 87, shall have binding force in their entirety on and in the United Kingdom.”
- Theresa May's Withdrawal Agreement
This means that the CJEU will have jurisdiction over the UK in certain areas, even after the UK has notionally left the EU. However, in her Lancaster House speech, Mrs May said:
“So, we will take back control of our laws and bring an end to the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice in Britain. Leaving the European Union will mean that our laws will be made in Westminster, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast. And those laws will be interpreted by judges not in Luxembourg but in courts across this country. Because we will not have truly left the European Union if we are not in control of our own laws. (Emphasis added)
- Theresa May, Lancaster House speech
If follows that if the draft agreement forms the basis of a treaty between the UK and the EU, then even after the expiry of the Article 50 period, the UK will, in Mrs May’s own words, not have truly left the European Union. This is clearly a betrayal of the decision of the UK electorate in the 2016 Referendum, a betrayal that serves the EU’s interests rather than those of the UK.
ANTI-DEMOCRATS
So, we are saddled, it seems, with anti-democrats to the left of us, anti-democrats to the right of us. (I was tempted to use a much stronger term than “anti-democrats”.)
I fear that the expiry of the Article 50 period may well go down in history as the day democracy finally died in the UK. And this will have consequences, since if the governing class is seen to thwart the democratic decision of the UK electorate, and hence (as noted) ride roughshod over the rule of law, there will be elements in the general population who will consider that democratic principles and the rule of law need not apply to them either. That is a recipe for anarchy and the violence that goes with it.
Are our MPs so blind or stupid as not to realize how dangerous is the situation into which the likes of Mrs May and Sir Keir Starmer are leading us?
OBSERVATIONS
Today we have focused on some of the fundamental issues of Brexit: democracy, sovereignty, and honesty from those who would rule over us.
No charts, no bullet-points, just basic principles which underpinned the Leave vote.
We are currently fighting on all levels - exposing hard facts, campaigning, and lobbying MPs and other key influencers. We really could do with your help. That means promoting our work as widely as you can, and also dipping your hands into your pockets to help to keep us going. The Brexit Facts4EU.Org team has borne over 90% of the cost in the last three years and we've exhausted our funds. Thank you for your support.

Message: Well-composed article, thank you Michael and Facts4EU. I love the put down of second-rate lawyer Keir Starmer (sorry, but I just can't bring myself to calling him 'Sir'). When it comes to Theresa May I think we would have to invent a whole new rating system to place her anywhere in a scale where we can call her at least a third class of anything.
Yes, anti-democrat is quite a generous description for them both.
THE FOLLOWING SUMMARY ARTICLE WAS REQUESTED BY MPs
We produced the following summary article on defence after a request from MPs yesterday. Inevitably it can't cover all aspects of the subject of defence and Brexit or it would be far too long.
Nevertheless we have tried to highlight some of the major points and provide some examples. We are happy to provide further information on request.
We hope that readers will appreciate the summary as much as Brexiteer MPs.

 DEFENCE OF THE REALM
UNDER THERESA MAY
A summary paper researched and written by Brexit Facts4EU.Org,
and endorsed by Veterans For Britain
How MPs and the public are not being told the truth about UK defence and Brexit
This article is a summary of a complex subject. It’s been written in plain language to highlight the issues, for MPs and for ordinary members of the public.
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
DEFENCE AND MRS MAY'S 'BREXIT'
  • Government has quietly been signing us up to EU defence structures since the Referendum
  • UK will keep paying billions, and Parliament hasn’t been properly informed
  • UK defence forces will not be fully independent of the EU
  • EU is accelerating its own ‘EU Army’ to replace NATO in Europe
  • EU defence budgets are rocketing – 50-fold increase in budget starting 2021
  • Nations states expected to contribute even more from national budgets
  • Yet the EU hasn’t even been capable of paying for its own defence since it started
It is important to understand that it’s not what the EU and the UK are saying, it’s what they’re doing that matters….. And what they have been doing for the last few years.
WHAT DOES THE WITHDRAWAL TREATY SAY ABOUT DEFENCE?
Theresa May’s Withdrawal Treaty has a section on defence. Out of 585 pages, defence merits the equivalent of only half a page of A4.
And those few words are all about the UK paying the EU. After we ‘leave’ on 29 March 2019, the UK will continue to pay for “the European Defence Agency, the European Union Institute for Security Studies, and the European Union Satellite Centre, as well as to the costs of Common Security and Defence Policy operations…”
WHAT ABOUT THERESA’S ‘POLITICAL DECLARATION’?
The vague and woolly ‘Political Declaration’ which was supposed to have given us the outline of the UK’s future relations with the EU is no better than the Withdrawal Treaty. However it makes clear the direction of travel.
“the Parties agree to enable to the extent possible under the conditions of Union law:
a) the United Kingdom's collaboration in relevant existing and future projects of the European Defence Agency (EDA) through an Administrative Arrangement;
b) the participation of eligible United Kingdom entities in collaborative defence projects bringing together Union entities supported by the European Defence Fund (EDF); and
c) the United Kingdom's collaboration in projects in the framework of Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), where invited to participate on an exceptional basis by the Council of the European Union in PESCO format.”
This makes it clear that both the EU bureaucrats and the mandarins at the MoD are hoping to carry on ‘business as usual’.
AND WHAT ABOUT THE MONEY?
The EU has consistently failed to pay for its own defence for decades. The contributions to NATO from EU member states who are members of both organisations are pitiful.
Yet the UK has paid far more than its fair share.

EU DEFENCE BUDGETS ARE ROCKETING
Under Theresa May’s ‘deal’, the UK is expected to pay for EU defence until 2021 on top of the UK defence budget, and for the pensions of EU defence staff for decades. It is also clear from the EU’s track record that there’s no chance of it agreeing a trade and future relations deal with the UK before then, which means the UK will keep paying for EU defence.
This is mentioned briefly in the Political Declaration when it refers to the EU’s ‘defence capabilities’ and says that “These should include a fair and appropriate financial contribution.”
Below is the EU's own admission of the increase in costs for defence for its 7-year accounting period starting 01 Jan 2021. They admit to a 22-times increase.
© Facts4EU.Org 2018
However, in the above chart the EU has not included all the defence items. Specifically they omitted the Military Mobility fund (€6.5bn) and the off-the-books 'Peace Fund' (10.5bn). This brings the increase up to 50 times the amount in the previous period, 2014-2020. And these figures only include defence. ‘Security’ is on top of this.
BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG SUMMARY
EU PROPOSED DEFENCE BUDGETS 2021-2027
  • €4.1bn Defence research projects
  • €8.9bn “Collaborative capability development projects”
  • €6.5bn “Military mobility”
  • €1.3bn Contingency
  • €20.8bn TOTAL
  • PLUS €10.5bn Off-the-books 'Peace Fund' controlled by EU de facto Defence Secretary
€31.3bn GRAND TOTAL - DEFENCE ONLY (Excl Security)
It was announced last year that as the funds gain pace, member states will be expected to contribute at a rate 5 times that of monies coming from the EU's central budget. This kind of thing is happening more and more in the EU, so that the EU's real costs appear to be much smaller than they are.
ADDITIONAL “OFF-THE-BOOKS” EU FUND OF €10.5bn
In addition to the €21bn above which the EU is including in its budget for the 7-year accounting period starting 01 Jan 2021, EU documents reveal a further, less transparent defence fund. This one is described as “off-budget” by the EU, meaning that it will not appear anywhere in the main EU budget tables. MPs are rarely told about these 'off-the-books' funds which the EU has been using more and more. They do not appear in the list of UK contributions to the EU.
HOW MPs AND THE PUBLIC ARE BEING DECEIVED
Since the Referendum the UK has consistently approved new EU defence propositions when they come up at EU Council, but MPs are unaware of this.
Here is just one classic example. On Thurs 22 June 2017, the Prime Minister attended the European Council where she approved:
  • The ‘European Defence Fund’, and
  • The ‘European Defence Industrial Development Programme’, and
  • The ‘Permanent Structured Cooperation’ (PESCO) on defence
Crucially - and unreported by anyone but Brexit Facts4EU.Org at the time - the Council agreed that the deployment of EU Battlegroups should be borne as a common cost on a permanent basis. This had previously been resisted by several other EU countries. Nevertheless Mrs May, who was representing a country which had voted to leave the EU, approved this.
As shown below, in her statement to Parliament the following week the PM failed to mention defence at all, despite it having been the top item on the agenda at the EU Summit.
EUROPEAN COUNCIL CONCLUSIONS
SECURITY & DEFENCE was the first section.

MRS MAY'S’S STATEMENT ON EU DEFENCE
DEFENCE wasn’t even mentioned once.
We invite Conservative MPs who still back Mrs May to study the Conclusions of the European Summit and compare them with Mrs May's statement to the House of Commons immediately after it. In Mrs May’s version of events, there is no mention whatsoever of what she agreed with the EU on defence, and yet it was the main item.
Sadly this has been typical. MPs have not been made aware of what civil servants and government ministers – including the PM – have agreed.
FOR ONCE, THE EU HAVEN'T EXACTLY HIDDEN ANYTHING
Here is the EU’s de facto Foreign and Defence Secretary, former Communist Ms Mogherini, in June 2017 - one year AFTER the Referendum - talking about the EU’s developments in common defence:
“Many believed and told me that it would have proven to be impossible for us to have a first Command Centre in Brussels for our military and training missions or that it would take us years, decades to do it.
“It took us a few weeks. And we decided it together, still at 28, and we did it.”
- Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy, June 2017
Note that the UK government was part of this decision, despite it taking place a year after the Referendum.
Here’s another example, this time from an official EU promotional video:
“Over this past year our common [EU] defence has advanced more than in the previous 60 years.”
Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy, Official 2017 video
OBSERVATIONS
All of the above is backed by three years of detailed research by Brexit Facts4EU.Org, available to journalists and to MPs. We have dozens of detailed articles on all aspects of Brexit and defence, which we are happy to provide on request.
It is our contention that the defence of the Realm is not safe in this Prime Minister’s hands.

Message: MPs allowing Prime Minister May to run down and effectively give away UK armed forces to a foreign power should in my view be de-selected from their taxpayer funded status. No-one voted their MP into power to act in a 'treacherous' manner. To balance my comment, this was also happening under recent [pro-EU] Prime Ministers.
The first duty of any government is the protection of its own citizens. Mrs May is effectively allowing our protection to be outsourced to a foreign power [the EU], or more correctly, a bunch of bureaucrats sitting on high in Brussels. To compliment the above article, may I suggest MPs, peers, and all readers view a previous Pro-Brexit Facts4EU article titled, "Brexit Facts4EU.org's Military Combine"?
The article contains a list of clickable defence articles starting **ONE YEAR POST REFERENDUM**, from June 2017 to March 2018. All MPs knew there was a majority vote to "Leave the European Union".
Mrs May and all MPs need to explain to the electorate why British taxpayers should pay for our UK military when they wish to give it away to the EU, little by little.
If it was left to me, I would bring home all UK military personnel and hardware immediately.

Message: What defence? They have been running it down for years. When she was Home secretary I would describe her policies as disastrous. It is very clear to me that if the current so-called 'withdrawal deal' is agreed to in parliament, then the conservatives are going to be in the wilderness for years to come and they have no one but themselves to blame. Just like in many other western countries the political establishment are so far removed from the voters that put them there. Democracy is a joke on the people currently. It sickens me to see and hear what is going on in Europe as well as the country of my birth.

Message: I cannot do better than quote the late Margaret Thatcher: "Europe (EU) is not based on a common language, culture and values... Europe is the result of plans. It is in fact, a classic utopian project, a monument to the vanity of intellectuals, a programme whose inevitable destiny is failure, only the scale of the final damage done is in doubt" (Margaret Thatcher, 2002 in her book, Statecraft)

Message: That Project Fear has returned is not surprising but it can be used both ways!
Conservative MPs should consider the following scenario :
1. There is a change of leadership
2. All Cabinet members who voted for Mrs May's "deal" are immediately fired 3.
All MPs who voted for the "deal" are de-selected before the next General Election
4. Steps are taken to charge them all with Treason for breach of the oath of office
Impossible you say and maybe you are right, but remember that today citizens are being hounded in the courts for events they did 30 years ago as soldiers in Northern Ireland.
How you vote on the 11 December will NEVER be forgotten !
