Part II of the Facts4EU.Org report on Ursula von der Leyen

As EU Commission President it is Ursula von der Leyen who has led the EU team in their actions to punish the British people for daring to vote to leave their sclerotic empire.

In this second and final part of our two-part series on the news coming out of Berlin on Monday, we look at the implications for Brexit Britain of another five years of the rule of ‘Empress Ursula’.

Below we have only selected four examples showing why the British people should be concerned at another five years of Ursula von der Leyen as the most powerful unelected woman in Europe and arguably in the world.

1. Von der Leyen’s refusal to discuss the EU’s illegal migrants crossing the English Channel

One egregious example of Frau von der Leyen’s behavior is the way that the Commission has refused to discuss taking back their 100,000+ illegal migrants who have crossed the English Channel in the last six years.

All attempts by the British government to discuss this with President Macron of France have been met with the response that it's the Commission that sets immigration policy. And the Commission still has not engaged with the Rishi Sunak’s government on the issue.

All of the 100,000+ illegal migrants now in the UK have come from safe EU countries, and departed principally from France in small boats. If the EU took them back - as they should - the UK government would not need its Rwanda plan.

2. Ursula von der Leyen's record on migration has hardly been a success

3. Ursula von der Leyen was Germany’s Defence Secretary for many years

Sadly, Germany’s record on defence has been somewhat disappointing, to put it mildly.

From Germany sending soldiers to NATO exercises with broomsticks due to a shortage of rifles, to most of its jet fighters being unserviceable, to tanks unable to be driven, it is not surprising that Frau von der Leyen was lambasted in the German press for being the worst-performing minister in Angela Merkel’s government, before she was parachuted into her current role in Brussels.

In Germany for years – many of which were presided over by its Defence Minister, now EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen – the expenditure on actual hardware has been very low. This helps to explain why Germany has had planes which couldn’t fly, tanks that could go nowhere, and troops without basics such as rifles or cold weather kit.

4. Dictatorial tendencies are coming to the fore

Here we enter more nebulous territory, as no-one wishes to go on the record.

We will simply observe that Frau von der Leyen has recently been making policy statements ‘on the hoof’, which have not been approved as official EU policy. These have left her officials scrambling for what to say to the press. There has been a lot of talk about this in Brussels but so far no-one has put their head above the parapet.

If this is happening five years into her tenure, there must be questions about what she will do when she (inevitably) secures a second term in office.

Observations

Does it matter to British people who runs the EU? Yes it does

There will undoubtedly be those who ask why the choice of EU Commission President should matter to the British people, now we are out of its clutches. The basic facts are that this does matter.

In our two reports we have shown how this woman has been responsible for leading a team which has sought to punish the British people for daring to vote leave the EU, and secondly Frau von der Leyen is the block to securing any form of 'return' agreement for all the illegal migrants who have left EU shores for the UK.

Immigration, the big fallacy of Brexit. By leaving the EU we can isolate ourselves from world issues. In the EU we had more opportunity and leverage to work with other European countries to address this issue at southern and eastern borders and in the Mediterranean. The number of illegal migrants is a small fraction of legal migrants (6%) which is as record levels, the recent measure by the Govt will reduce migration to 300,000 per year, way above the promises made before and after Brexit.

Facts4EU has looked at this numerous times including where illegal migrants are coming from, the main the countries being Syria and Afghanistan, countries where the UK has got involved in, lead by our friends in the USA and made a complete hash of it.

The status quo two parties must be removed, They have demonstrated time and again that they are just doing their own thing. Just look at the new attempts to block CPTPP, Something which is of great benefit to the UK. They know that once we join and start to prosper from it we have less chance of rejoining the EU. They must all be removed from power.
The only chance we have as voters is to vote Reform UK.

2 LB. It is a concern but the infighting within the Cons over Brexit and Europe has brought itself down. The binary choice is frustrating.

3 AGB. I agree about the status quo. But I don’t have an issue with a debate on CPTPP, the TCA was rushed through with no time for debate and scrutiny and it hasn’t been a good deal.

Fair enough to debate things in the hope of Improving the situation.

The problem is the ones calling for the CPTPP debate are doing so with the express intention of stopping it entirely. They want to block it so the UK doesn't join. They are the same people who stopped the UK pioneer program and helped create the Windsor framework. They don't want to leave the EU so they are using every instrument to stop it.
Just look at the antics of John Bercow when he sat, And the surrender act. They support the EU instead of an independent UK, They are poison.

I think you will find that for most of us Brexit was about being fully involved involved the world and making our own decisions. Yes we can control immigration as many countries do. You should not confuse political weakness and incompetence with national rights. EU policies have and are encouraging mass scale immigration. Leaving the EU was the first step now we need a competent strong Government.

I think you mean the infighting between the democratic Brexit supporters and the undemocratic remainers.

You seem to spend you time building your own version of reality in your mind, understanding your recollection of events would keep a team of psychiatrists busy for a whole year !
The referendum was agreed by parliament and fully debated before the vote. The TCA was negotiated over a 4 year period and constantly debated in parliament. During this period remainers constantly obstructed the negotiations and the "surrender act" prevented a good deal.

If you do not like the TCA blame your self destructive remainer friends !

The only way I can make any sense of Sparky's constantly changing positions is to say that Remain do not want the UK to have an independent voice in the World. When Remain say that we can only have "influence" by having our policy controlled from Brussels, there is really no other way to make that a consistent idea.
The EU Commission are not complete idiots, and they know perfectly well that now we have left the EU - and it seems to be one of the days Sparky thinks we actually have left, not one of the days when he insists we re still in the EU - then we do, by definition, have an independent voice in the World. It is not in their power to decide otherwise.
As a maritime country that depends on sea traffic for over 80% of trade, one of our highest priorities is to protect shipping, and since the US has the same priority, we are doing this in concert in the Rd Sea and elsewhere. And we are not just protecting shipping passively, but we are going after the Yemeni pirates who are attacking shipping.
Had we bottled it and remained in the EU, we would currently be in the absurd position of supplying most of the ships for an EU "Operation", but we would be just starting to take action this week, three months after the piracy began, and we would be hamstrung by the EU's idiotic self-restriction of promising to act only at sea and not against piracy's bases in Yemen.
But this seems to be what Remain literally wants; for the UK to supply the EU from the UK's defence forces, but then allow the EU to dictate UK policy and in particular hamstring UK reactions for EU political motives. If Remain could, they would do the same over Ukraine, where they follow a policy of earmarking money, but supplying obsolete and effective weapons.
The idea that you can have "influence" in the World by putting yourself under the control of people who have their own often hidden agenda, is a non-starter.

Remain is only a voice. It has never been able to attract the public support that would allow it to "do" anything at all. An organization that can only attract "hundreds" to a demonstration or persuade a few thousand to sign an on-line petition, is totally ineffective. This is, in fact, why Remain try so hard to use the Internet megaphone to keep the illusion in place that there is still a real "debate" going on when there is about as much uncertainty as there is about a Flat Earth or Creationism. Remain is just a tiny group of obsessive egoists, and all we do here is point out their fallacies. You can't blame them for anything because they cannot do anything.

A very interesting announcement this morning. The company Sheffield Forgemasters, which was one of the press's favourite "Boo-hoo, we can't do anything right" stories a few years ago, announced a new welding process that can fabricate a nuclear reactor vessel with walls up to eight inches thick, in days rather than months with existing processes. This will be especially useful for small modular reactors, and in related news the Government are pushing forward with a program to install up to 15 SMR power plant in associate with the UK's main SMR developer.
