Brexit benefits in spades: Facts4EU led the charge on this great Brexit win, starting four years ago
Today we summarise our definitive reporting, telling you all you need to know about UK’s ‘Pacific pivot’
On Sunday (15 Dec 2024) the UK formally accessed to membership of the enormous Trans-Pacific trading bloc known under its acronym ‘CPTPP’. This represents another huge ‘Brexit benefit’ and Rejoiners have been keen to try to minimise it. What follows makes it impossible for them to do this and retain any credibility.
As the British think-tank which has produced more reports on this subject than any other similar organisation in the last four years, today we summarise this great deal for the UK’s consumers and businesses. The reports (condensed below, with links) have our usual ‘at-a-glance’ charts, bullet-pointed summaries, more detailed explanations, and interviews.
They include comments to us from former Prime Minister Liz Truss, from a former Secretary of State, and from a current member of the Government’s independent Trade and Agriculture Commission, as well as comments from the new Conservative Leader Kemi Badenoch.
We begin with the reaction of the Rt Hon Liz Truss, former Trade Secretary and former UK Prime Minister, commenting exclusively to Facts4EU.Org this morning.
Comments on our report, by former Prime Minister the Rt Hon Liz Truss
Commenting exclusively to Facts4EU.Org on our report this morning, former Prime Minister Liz Truss told us:
“Having made the UK’s formal application to join the CPTPP when I was International Trade Secretary, I’m delighted our membership of this vibrant trading bloc has finally been secured. Not only does it underline our position as a truly global trading nation, but the bloc also serves as a critical bulwark against China.
“Make no mistake, this was achieved by Conservatives in office - no thanks to the Labour politicians whose tedious attachment to the EU model prevents them from grasping the benefits of Brexit as we pursue an independent trade policy, no longer shackled by Brussels.
“It’s important to remember that the crucial precursor to joining CPTPP was the trade deal I negotiated with Australia - which the Labour Party actively opposed at the time. So whatever platitudes emanate from the mouths of government ministers are frankly weasel words because this important development would never have happened if it had been left to them.”
The story of this great ‘Brexit Win’ starts in February 2021, almost four years ago
We begin almost four years ago. As these reports continue over time, readers will see how the new data each time is on an upward trajectory. Even so, the news was still very encouraging back at the beginning of February, 2021.

Observations
From our Chairman :-
“I hope our readers are as proud as I am of the Facts4EU team for their work on what is the largest free trade agreement ever completed by Brexit Britain.
“Facts4EU.Org led the charge on reporting this, seeing the importance of the CPTPP deal way back at the start of February 2021. Since then, we have witnessed some of the major news networks failing to cover the good news. In particular I am thinking of the state broadcaster, the BBC.
“More recently, we saw a news blackout both from the BBC and from Sir Keir Starmer’s new government when the UK crossed the magical threshold of six countries ratifying the UK’s accession. Having six countries of the CPTPP ratifying, guaranteed the UK’s formal accession on Sunday (15 December). The sixth country was Peru, and our creative team was able to have some fun with Paddington Bear. For me this is one of my favourite ‘tiles’ of the year, as it also features Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
“Finally, I truly hope that our continued efforts to present great, uplifting news to the public (and to MPs, Peers and the mainstream media) will continue to pay off. We simply must not let the Rejoiners get away with their continual, depressing messages, containing information which is simply untrue.
