Revealed: How the EU enabled Iran to attack Israel on Sunday

If war is imminent, what are the implications for the United Kingdom and its people?

Facts4EU.Org shows how the EU cozied up to Iran and allowed it to become an aggressor

In today’s report we present the first part in a series summarising the appeasement of Iran by the EU and US over many years, leading to the attack on Israel at the weekend. We also look at what this might mean for the British people.

On Sunday Iran launched an attack on Israel using more than 330 explosive drones and ballistic missiles. It was only thanks to Israel’s impressive air defence systems and the actions of UK and US fighter aircraft in shooting down part of this attack in mid-air that Iran did not cause a massive loss of life amongst Israel’s civilian population.

In reading this series, we invite readers to imagine if this attack by Iran had been launched against UK towns and cities.

A Brexit Facts4EU.Org Series

Part I – Summary – Why does this affect the UK and what difference has Brexit made? (This report)
Part II - The overthrow of the Shah, the new Islamic Republic, policies, state-sponsored terrorism
Part III – Nuclear threat, Obama’s appeasement (JCPOA), EU's enthusiasm, Trump's renunciation of JCPOA, UK's opportunities
Part IV - Iran’s de facto act of war directly against Israel on Sunday 14 April 2024

Is the Middle East on the verge of war?

This attack by Iran was nothing short of an attack of war on the State of Israel. The EU bears significant responsibility for this in the way it has kow-towed to the Iranian government for many years (during all the time of the UK’s membership). We summarise this in a series of new reports.

Any Middle East war will directly affect British consumers. Already British holiday flights over the region have been cancelled, freight shipping has been re-routed at considerable extra cost which will impact the price of goods in the UK, and RAF jets have been deployed in action.

Since the 2016 EU Referendum debate we have warned about the EU’s foreign policy actions in many of our reports. While the UK was part of the EU, it was in effect governed by EU foreign policy set by successive and unelected bureaucrats in Brussels. Following Brexit, the UK is free to follow its own foreign and defence policies.

The EU and Iran

For years the European Commission has pursued a reckless policy of appeasement of a rogue state. In this series we call out the EU Commission for its foreign policy naivete and its culpability for the current state of affairs in the region. We will also show how EU Commissioners have had significant relationships with Iran.

The EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy is directed by the Commission’s Vice-President, the elderly Spanish diplomat and de facto EU Foreign Secretary Josep Borrell. He is of course unelected by any popular mandate, as are all EU Commissioners.

Quite extraordinarily, if readers go to the EU’s ‘European External Action Service’ (EEAS) website this morning (as of 4am) they will find reports about Sudan but not one word about Iran’s attack on Israel.

The effect on the UK and British consumers

For many years Iran has funded and supplied terrorist organisations such as Hamas, the Houthis, Hezbollah, and others. Its actions in helping the Houthis have resulted in the recent attacks on UK shipping which will lead to increases in the cost of living in the UK, due to additional shipping costs. On Sunday Iran attacked Israel directly, thereby de-stabilising a region which is already on the brink. This series will look at the build-up to all of this, and what can now be done.

Observations

None of the mainstream media are calling Iran’s action on Sunday an act of war – Facts4EU is

Since 2016 we have warned that the EU’s disastrous foreign policy towards Iran, aided and abetted at that tme by US President Barack Obama, was naïve and would result in catastrophe.

Our concerns were originally about Iran’s nuclear weapons programme – still ongoing – but also about its funding of terrorist organisations in the region.

Now we have seen a direct attack on Israel by Iran itself. This time Iran did not only not use its proxies in Yemen, Syria and Lebanon. This time missiles were launched from Iran itself. The sheer extent of this attack amounts to an act of war.

Knowing Israel, it will not stand back. The fact that UK and US fighters and Israel’s air defence systems downed the vast majority of the attacks is not relevant. This was an act of war from one country towards another, whether declared or not.

If Iran had attacked the UK in this way, would we expect our government to do nothing?
