Is ‘The European Movement’ in trouble? Lord Adonis quits as Chairman

This news comes as the Rejoiners are massing for a ‘Day For Rejoin’ in March

Facts4EU.Org takes an irreverent look at what the anti-democrats are doing

10 days before Christmas Lord Andrew Adonis, the Chairman of ‘The European Movement’ of arch-Rejoiners, unexpectedly and quietly resigned, “to spend more time on his writing”. Strangely, this news seems to have gone unreported by the BBC.

The European Movement’s Vice Chair, Molly Scott Cato, will serve as interim Chair until a successor is elected. Commenting on the resignation she said:-

"I am disappointed by this news, but I would like to thank Andrew for his enormous contribution to the European Movement as our Chair. Under Andrew’s leadership, the European Movement has accelerated our membership growth, reformed our governance and defined a clear strategy to campaign' Step by Step' to reverse the calamity of Brexit.”
"We are entering a critical stage in the Battle for the Soul of our Country. What we do now will define the pace of our route back to the EU. Our next Chair must be fully committed to that goal whilst continuing to build our Movement across the country.”

Who is Molly Scott Cato?

Unlike Baron Adonis, who withdrew from every national election before polling day and only got his ministerial position by virtue of Tony Blair making him a peer, Molly Scott Cato was elected as an MEP for the Green Party.

Her interests are green economics, localism and anti-capitalism, and she is strongly anti-nuclear. An academic, she was privately educated at a well-known girls’ school in Bath and went on to study PPE at Oxford.

In the last general election she stood as the ‘Unite to Remain’ candidate in Stroud, with the LibDems standing down to give her a chance. Molly Scott Cato came third, gaining only 7.5% of the vote and with just 4,954 constituents voting for her.

The Rejoiners’ march in October was a bit of a disappointment for them

In October the National Rejoin March (NRM) organised a march in London, protesting against Brexit and calling for the United Kingdom to rejoin the European Union.

Amongst the headline speakers was Steve Bray. Readers will know him as the irritating man who for years disrupted every news broadcast from College Green outside Parliament with his constant “No Brexit!” shouts. They also had to endure the Belgian MEP Guy Verhofstadt.

The NRM claim that their march in October:-

“was a huge success, attracting 50,000 re-joiners who marched peacefully through the streets of London to Parliament Square, where a rally was held featuring fantastic and hopeful speeches from Guy Verhofstadt, Terry Reintke, Femi Oluwole, Siobhan Benita, Mike Galsworthy, Steve Bray and many more.”

The Metropolitan Police say that only 15,000 were on the march, not the 50,000 claimed by the organisers on the NRM website.

When it comes to the stage show following the march, this is where words almost fail us. It must be remembered before watching any of this that it is the Rejoiners who claim that Brexiteers are ill-educated and ignorant. All we can do is recommend our readers to watch at least some of it.

Now the Rejoiners are mobilising for a day of action in March 2023

Undaunted, the NRM are now mobilising for a ‘Day for Rejoin’, on Saturday 25th March 2023. Here is what they say:-

“What is 'NRM Day For Rejoin'?”
“A day of pro-rejoin action around the whole of the UK and in every EU country, all happening on the same day. Events of all different kinds, whether a static protest, a music event, street dancing, street stall, book fair, pub crawl, whatever you can dream up! We need organisers to create pro-rejoin events in every area of the UK and around the EU. Sign up to become an organiser with the form below!”

Over £3 million in foreign funding received by Rejoiner organisations

One international organisation, known as ‘The Open Society Foundations’ (OSF), was founded by foreign multi-billionaire George Soros, who made a great deal of money betting against sterling.

Their website states they are :-

“the world’s largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, democratic governance, and human rights.”

From 2016 to 2019 George Soros’s OSF donated more than £3 million to UK groups dedicated to overturning the largest democratic vote in the United Kingdom’s history.

Observations

Despite all of the above, opinion polls are showing over 50% of the public in favour of rejoining the EU. We must not be complacent and this is where we need the help of our readers.

I find this interesting and exciting news. Maybe Adonis can see the writing on the wall.Molly Scott Cato looks like a good replacement, someone who has seen little of the real world, lives in a big house with geese in the garden, And believes everything is rosy.
A prime example of old money, lost to the world Liberal lovey lefty.
She'll support the local cake sale & raffle in the lovely village of Upton shire and BLM, Albanian immigrants, no nuclear power and for the rest to own nothing and be happy.
I think I'll apply for a grant from OSF to support the democratic decision for a free independent Britain.
I'll enjoy watching the rejoin march video to see the enemy and hear their brainwashed deceptive arrogant views.

We all know opinion polls mean very little. Almost everyone I speak to knows very little about the UK - EU situation.
That's how the government have got away with things for decades.
Thankfully the vast majority of Brits think Brexit is done and would support being independent above all else.
There will never be a uk return to the eu. No party would touch it for a decade more. Some will think they can sit on it for several years then manage to wangle another referendum. Thing is as every year passes Brexit and Britain's position will be galvanised in the publics psyche. The shock answer would be the same. NO to rejoin by a big margin.

In a democracy it is not anti-democratic to campaign tor change. It is not anti-democratic to try to get people to vote differently in future. It is not anti-democratic to object to policy and to point out its pathetic failings. All of which applies here.
The best thing about Brexit is that you all got to try Brexit. People like Farage, Redwood, Cash, Duncan Smith spent decades telling you how awful the EU was and how your life would be better if you left it. That’s why you voted leave. You thought it would make your country better and your life better. You thought the brown people would go.
None of those things has happened. Brexit has made just about everything worse. And the vast majority of the public now sees this.
I appreciate you are all still at the denial stage - where you are blaming those of us who told you Brexit would be crap for Brexit being crap. But what you and your generation thinks is not important.
Rejoin has overwhelmingly won the argument with young people and it has overwhelmingly won the argument with those who didn’t vote in 2016. The only age demographic now supporting Brexit is the over 65s. In 5 years the only group supporting Brexit will be the over 70s. And then by 2033 the only group supporting it will be the over 75s. You see how this works? Brexitists are literally dying out.
And it isn’t even close among younger age groups. Their support for the EU is overwhelming.
Now we understand that we can’t undo your Brexit straightaway. I initially thought undoing it would be a 30-40 year project, but you have all made such a mess of it overturning Brexit in 20 years is now achievable.
This generation of politicians can’t touch it because Brexitists are such snowflakes. But younger people will not put up with this mess that you have foisted on them. So your choices as Brexitists are pretty simple. Get your arses in gear and fix your own mess or we will fix it for you.

Rejoiners want to live in a world of fantasies. They believe they want to rejoin Europe, which we never left, but all they'll get is to go back under the oppression of the EU institutions.
One of the great achievements of Brexit has been to uncover the ugly face of EU totalitarianism.
I don't see why, after this nation has spent centuries taming the British monarchy into the fantastic institution that it is today, we would gave ourselves up again to a bunch of absolute despots sitting, by leave of no one, in the exalted halls of Brussels.
This march of rejoiners will be a march of aspiring slaves.

You clutch at straws.
Your belief that only old people voted leave may be comforting to you but its wrong.
Yes more younger people voted remain and there's a reason for that.
Younger people have more of a pack mentality, it's part of survival whilst growing up.
The status quo is all they have ever known and they sub consciously need that stability.
As the years tick on newer generations will trust and believe in their own nation and its freedom, As its been for millenia.
As Brexit freedoms become more realised over time, Those younger remain voters will also know that Brexit was the right decision.
You see, Time is not on rejoins side, Its a good cover for us though as you'll put much effort in your futile attempts.
Nationhood and good neighbourliness has been tried and tested over thousands of years.
Forcibly changing nations and amalgamating them will not work.

Isn't it nice how blusterboy Alleges that the vote leave campaign was financed by Russia, without any proof of such.
And latterly he alludes to foreign financing of facts4eu, again without any kind of proof.
.
Yet finds it perfectly acceptable for a foreign organisation, headed by a Hungarian national, to finance a campaign to return Britain to foreign control.
