EU LIES ABOUT AID

ANOTHER BREXIT FACTS4EU.ORG EXPOSÉ OF EU DECEIT
Unknown to most Americans, the EU has been lying consistently and brazenly about its role in providing international aid.
Americans might be surprised to hear that the EU has been claiming the top spot in the rankings of 'most generous nations', which has always been held by the United States. Here we provide the evidence of how the EU is lying.
EU FALSELY CLAIMS TO BE TOP INTERNATIONAL DONOR
The EU uses a graphic in its official documents when the subject of international development assistance comes up. This has happened with increasing frequency, as the EU has sought to promote itself in various ways in response to the numerous crises affecting the EU.
In the graphic, the EU claims to be by far the largest donor of international assistance, giving 56% of world aid. The USA is shown as #2 - less than half as generous as the EU - and the UK is nowhere.
The EU is very proud of its false claim. You can find the graphic in many official documents produced within the last 12 months. For example: "A Stronger Europe on the Global Scene" and the pivotal document called the "White Paper on the Future of Europe".
EU WRONGLY CLAIMS TOP DONOR STATUS
This graphic is clearly trying to show that the EU is the biggest donor of foreign aid in the World.
Despite the document being about the EU27, the EU has included the UK's money in its figures whenever this presents a better picture for the EU, as in this case of foreign aid. It was written 9 months ago and uses the OECD's data from 2015.

You will note that this graphic paints the UK out of the picture entirely. Japan, Norway and Canada get a mention, but not the UK.
IN FACT THE UK IS THE 2ND BIGGEST INTERNATIONAL DONOR, AFTER THE US
The Paris-based OECD is the definitive source for information on foreign aid, and even the EU claim to have used this data when producing their bizarre graphic.
We’ve recreated the EU’s figures into graphs which enable a comparison between EU fantasy on the left, and the facts on the right. We've used the same 2015 figures which the EU used.

HOW THE EU DISTORTED THE TRUTH BEYOND RECOGNITION
Members of the EU – such as the UK – have their own donor programs. The EU as an institution also takes some of the money given to it by member states and uses this in its own donor program.
The EU should simply report its own donations from its own donor program. Even that might be argued to be disingenuous, as the European Union is not a country and the money it donates comes from the individual member states.
Unfortunately the EU takes the amounts of its individual members donated individually, it adds them to monies collated and distributed by the EU institutions, and claims the whole lot as ‘EU donations’.
- This aid by individual countries like the UK is not provided via the EU
- The EU played no part in the individual countries' separate decisions to donate their aid
- Their aid is not connected with the EU as an institution
This means that on the EU's erroneous charts the UK, which most British adults know to be the second-biggest donor in the World after the USA, disappears entirely from the EU’s graphic of top international donors. And the USA, which is the world's largest donor, comes a poor second to the EU.
EXTRAORDINARY ADDITIONAL LIE BY THE EU
The graphic above - and the claim about the EU being the world's biggest donor - is being used in documents and propaganda about the future of the EU as the EU27.
In March last year the EU used the graphic prominently in its landmark “White Paper on the future of Europe” and this is the document we referred to above. The EU should of course have entitled the document “the future of the EU27”, not "Europe" which is a continent of some 50 countries.
THE EU DELIBERATELY 'FORGOT' ABOUT BREXIT
So, in a 'White Paper' on the future of the 27 countries which will be left in the EU after Brexit, the EU chose quietly to include the huge amounts of aid which the UK donates directly to the third world each year. The UK's large amounts of aid make it the most generous country in the EU. And the EU is using this and taking credit for it, even when it is talking about the EU as 27, after the UK has gone.
BECOMES
How is it possible that the EU thinks it is acceptable to use its misleading graphic without pointing out that in fact a large percentage of the donations it is claiming for itself are in fact given by the nation which will not be part of the EU going forward?
PROOF THE EU LIED AND CONTINUES TO LIE TO THE WORLD
Last year the EU celebrated 60 years since its first incarnation, when six countries got together to make the European Economic Community (EEC). The fanfares and celebrations went on for weeks in different forms and in different places. One document encapsulated this: " The White Paper on the Future of Europe". See for yourself how the EU trumpets its claim to be the world's biggest donor of development and humanitarian aid.
None of this EU disinformation is hidden. Below is a typical opening of a page about aid on the EU Commission’s website. Note how it starts: "The EU is the most generous donor in the world".

In documents, on EU web pages, and in speeches you will come across this false claim. Here is a press release from the EU in April last year.

SUMMARY - USA REMAINS WORLD'S MOST GENEROUS NATION
In summary, the OECD figures for 2015 which have been used by the EU show categorically that the United States of America is easily the most generous donor in the world.
STATISTICAL NOTES:
We accessed the raw data from the OECD – the same organisation that the EU cites as its source. We slightly adjusted the figure for the EU as an institution by taking out the element of its total which is attributable to the UK, as the EU's own document related to the EU27 - i.e. when the UK has left. The OECD's figures are subject to revisions from time-to-time, but the overall picture we have presented to you represents the reality of the situation. The US is #1, followed by the UK.
OBSERVATIONS
WHY THIS MATTERS
Bear in mind that this EU lie and the graphic which flaunts it are widely distributed by the EU throughout the world. Naturally the graphic is also used to brainwash the young people of the EU countries.
Please also be aware that the EU plasters 'from the EU' signs all over donations it makes. This means that in countries in receipt of aid, the recipients see the aid as coming from the EU, when in fact most of it is paid for by the UK and other member states.
WE'RE OUTRAGED - ARE YOU?
Members of the Brexit Facts4EU.Org team are widely travelled and have lived and worked in many countries. Without doubt the most generous people in our experience are the Americans. It is therefore of no surprise to us that it's the United States which is the largest international aid donor in the world.
What is really extraordinary is how the European Union elites have the nerve to lie so blatantly about this. The EU is NOT a country, no matter how much the EU elites are trying to change this. They want an EU superstate to rival the US and are working at full speed to achieve this. This is one of the reasons that the British people voted to leave. However the EU is not a country yet. It was supposed to be a trading bloc of 28 countries, and will soon be 27 countries when the UK leaves.
For the EU to take the individual totals of overseas aid donated by its member countries and to claim them as its own is simply breathtaking. These aid figures have nothing whatsoever to do with the EU and were decided by the individual governments voted for by the citizens of each country.
DON'T YOU THINK THE EU QUALIFIES AS A SELLER OF FAKE NEWS, MR PRESIDENT?
