We are delighted to present the newly ennobled Sir John (now Lord) Redwood, interviewed by our Podcast Editor, Graham Dale

PLEASE NOTE: Our podcasts are scheduled for every Wednesday. Exceptionally, yesterday we had to "bump" this one by a day, as a result of GB News wanting to cover our major piece of research on Sir Keir's truthfulness - or otherwise - about his "export wins" during his trip to China a couple of weeks ago.

Yesterday's was a very successful report, reaching hundreds of thousands of voters. If you haven't already done so, we recommend reading it today.

In this podcast, references to "yesterday" therefore refer to "the day before yesterday" and readers should also note that this was filmed in our interviewee's last few days as "Sir John"!

In episode III of Facts4EU's new podcast series, Graham takes on the daunting task of interviewing one of the most formidable men in Parliament.

We can say "in Parliament" because as of Tuesday 10 February, Sir John Redwood became the Rt Hon Baron Redwood of Wokingham.

The Facts4EU Sovereignty Podcasts, Season 1, Episode III

We are delighted to present our first Special Guest Star!

“Three important questions for the country”
with Lord Redwood, and Graham Dale of Independence Facts4EU.Org

Recently raised to the Peerage as Baron Redwood of Wokingham, the Rt Hon Sir John Redwood was M.P. for Wokingham 37 years from 1987 until he stood down before the 2024 General Election.

He was Director of the Number 10 Policy Unit under Margaret Thatcher and subsequently served in government as Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, Minister of State for Local Government, and Secretary of State for Wales.

Generally considered to be on the right wing of the Conservative Party, he has been a consistent opponent of Britain's membership of the European Union and was a leading voice arguing for Leave in the Referendum of 2016.

Lord Redwood's wide-ranging knowledge of economics, business, trade, finance and international affairs is immense. His quick, analytical brain and plain-speaking style make him a person whose opinions are sought and respected. His comments on Brexit, economic growth and the roles of the Bank of England and Office for Budget Responsibility are recommended essential listening.

Our new Podcast Editor, Graham Dale, is privileged to have the opportunity of talking to this fascinating man.

New to this series? So who is this new Podcast Editor character, exactly?

As British as they come, our new Podcast Editor shares his birthplace with Josaiah Wedgewood and a certain Mr Robbie Williams. Both are major British export success stories, with Robbie Williams having just overtaken the Beatles for the highest number of No.1 albums in history. As for our Podcast Editor, his ambitions are not quite so lofty. He simply wants to make a difference to the way we all think about the direction of travel of our country.

A family man, Facts4EU’s own Staffordshire Terrier for independence and sovereignty is Graham Dale, now happily ensconced in North Wales with his long-suffering wife of over 40 years. Graham has led an interesting career, in banking and financial services, property, and as a business angel. Sadly, we must disappoint Graham if he thinks Robbie’s hit single Angels had anything to do that particular professional activity of his.

His interests, in addition to his family, include hill walking, the arts, British history and politics. It is the latter two which drove his desire to join us.

Observations

‘Thought for the day’

For some of us, we think Graham’s podcasts each Wednesday are going to a be a little like a secular version of “Thought for the Day”, or GB News’ “Reflections”. With his calming, well-grounded voice, we can easily see ourselves being given a relaxing start to the day, whilst at the same time having something serious to think about.

Graham is a man who believes passionately in our country. When he approached our Chairman, it was this clear urge to help to put things right which persuaded him Graham was going to make a go of this. We expect him to get better each week and we’re looking forward to seeing this.

It only remains for us to say "Welcome Graham, to the very special club that is the Facts4EU team!!" And, we should add, we would be very happy to welcome more volunteers, as we are desperately short of bodies!

To our readers, we simply say "Please, please help us to carry on our vital work in defence of independence, sovereignty, democracy and freedom by donating today." Thank you.
