Another 1,200 illegal migrants were escorted into the country on Saturday, courtesy of the UK’s authorities. (TWELVE HUNDRED.) Two weeks ago the PM surrendered the UK’s sovereign 200 mile Economic Exclusion Zone around our islands and received absolutely nothing in return from the EU. He also agreed to re-align the United Kingdom with the laws of that foreign power and to pay for the privilege of doing so.

And finally, the PM signed a preposterous agreement to pay Communist-aligned politicians in a small country to take a sovereign part of the territory of the United Kingdom which has vital strategic importance for this country and for the West as a whole.

This madness must stop

Yesterday, Sunday 01 June 2025, the Brexit Facts4EU team decided this madness must stop. We must take a stand somewhen, somewhere, somehow. Accordingly, Facts4EU, together with colleagues at CIBUK, the UK Fisheries Campaign, and the Global Discussion Forum decided that the place is here and time is now.

We also know many other organisations whose values and belief systems overlap to a considerable extent with our own. Accordingly, as part of this stand, below we publish an appeal by a good friend of Facts4EU and an indomitable force for good in our country, Claire Bullivant. Claire and her colleagues, including former MEP Ben Habib, are assisting a Chagossian in his fight to stop Sir Keir’s undemocratic and unconstitutional deal with the latest government in Mauritius – a close ally of Communist China.

Claire’s piece below is an appeal for funds. We want to extend this. Please give to Claire’s appeal. Please also give the same amount to Facts4EU. Background to this dirty deal on Chagos

Facts4EU has consistently opposed the Government’s preposterous plan to pay Communist-aligned politicians in a small country to take a sovereign part of the territory of the United Kingdom which has vital strategic importance for this country and for the West as a whole.

In February we published a two-parter on this, exclusively revealing the corruption involved in Sir Keir Starmer’s deal. Please click on the tiles above for each report. Sadly this was not taken up by others at the time and Starmer has gone ahead and signed his secretive deal, with no consultation, no mandate, no Parliamentary approval, and no support from the public.

The PM pretends there is a legal need. There is no such thing, as we proved. There is absolutely no justification for this act which can only be ascribed to a warped and deeply disturbing ideology on the part of Sir Keir and a cabal of senior politicians and civil servants – one which flies directly in the face of the interests of the United Kingdom and its people.

Stop the Chagos Betrayal

We need to raise £20,000 from the British people to underwrite a Judicial Review against Keir Starmer’s secretive and unlawful Chagos deal.

We’re now just £20,000 away from launching a full legal challenge that could stop a national betrayal.

Will you help us? Thanks to our generous Chairman Ben Habib, and the support of our Great British PAC patrons, we have already raised the funds needed to initiate a Judicial Review against the Government’s Chagos deal. But we now urgently need a further £20,000 from the British public to underwrite this action.

This is to protect us from a claim by the Government for their legal costs.

Why This Legal Challenge Matters

Parliament is about to vote on one of the most shameful deals in modern British history:

The surrender of the Chagos Islands to Mauritius — a vital UK military stronghold in the Indian Ocean.
A £30 billion+ payout — agreed without public consultation or Parliamentary consent.
The betrayal of the Chagossian people, who were never consulted and may now be permanently cut off from their homeland.
Potential damage to the most precious and protected marine area worldwide.

This undemocratic and racially discriminatory deal was signed without scrutiny, without a vote, and without transparency. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has misled the country, claiming China opposed the deal when media reports show Beijing is celebrating.

But there is still time to stop it

The treaty has NOT been ratified. We have one final legal route to expose the Government’s misconduct — and give MPs the truth before they vote. This is a fight for justice, accountability, and democratic integrity.

Why Now?

This legal action must be filed immediately to be heard before Parliament ratifies the treaty. If we miss this window, the damage will be permanent.

We’ve already raised enough to get the legal team into action — but we still need £20,000 to underwrite and protect this challenge if the Government retaliates with costs. This case can change the course of history — but only with your support. Every pound makes a difference.

It's time to take the gloves off

The Facts4EU team is working hard on some more exclusive reports, relating to the Prime Minister's regrettable decisions. Today we decided to publish the Chagos appeal. Tomorrow, if we secure the final pieces of information we need, we will publish a blockbuster report which is on a totemic issue relating to sovereignty.

We hope you will give to Claire's appeal, which should easily reach it's target with a little help. We also hope you will take seriously our own appeal for funds. We have an enormous amount of work to do to reverse the appalling measures which are all coming our way. This is not party-political, it is about ideology and overall it is about the absolute principle of sovereignty. Either we have it or we don't. Right now it is being given away and this must stop. Between 1968-1973, the UK systematically removed all residents from Diego Garcia. The process involved:
1/ preventing Chagossians visiting Mauritius for medical ground from returning home.
2/ killing over 1000 pet dogs to intimidate remaining residents
3/ forcibly removing the last inhabitants by April 1973 to Mauritius.
Those were the days. We had none of this woke nonsense we have today from our government.

3 Gazza … I am no expert on international law … but I would like to point out that the UK reiterated in 2019 that it “fully accepts that the manner in which the Chagossians were removed from the Chagos Archipelago, and the way they were treated thereafter, was shameful and wrong.”
Hence why Claire Bullivants’ claim that the current proposed Chagos deal is ‘undemocratic and racially discriminatory’ does come across a bit awkward to me.

There has NEVER been any connection between Mauritius and the Chagos slands.

Britain colonised them separately , and chose to consolidate the administration of these colonies from the one location, Mauritius.

By the way, there is no such thing as "international law", only "international agreements" to which Sovereign countries are under no obligation to be a part of.

I believe we should give the Chagos islanders full British citizenship and provide them with the opportunity to return to the islands to live.
Facts4EU fails to mention in this article if the opportunity for Chagos islanders to return to their islands in the near future was a deliberate or accidental omission in Claire Bullivant’s appeal.
Maybe I was hoping Fact4EU would have set their own bar higher when they claim to be a serious voice of independence, sovereignty and freedom.

The less than pleasant history of Britain and it's attitude to the Chagos islanders should be recognised. I'm with LB (for once) they should be given British citizenship, if they want it. I'm surprised they haven't !
Where i differ is to believe paying billions of pounds to a foreign country for handing over the islands makes any sense to anyone (except Starmer)
Let any Chagos islanders who wish to do so, return. Keep the islands as a British overseas territory and at the same time hold on to Diego Garcia. Preventing the loss of billions of pounds along the way and retaining an important mlitary base. After all Starmer now believes we're on the verge of war.
Sadly, as the incompetent rabble known as Labour, have a huge majority in parliament and are likely to remain for another four years. What I believe should happen, won't. Two Tier will carry on with his blithering idiocy.
