It has been quietly doing this since 2019 and this year it has extended its funding to 2026. It is therefore clear that the EU, the UNHCR, and the African Union consider Rwanda to be a safe country.

With the UK Supreme Court now considering its judgement in the legal battle by pro-migrant lawyers, the UNHCR, and the ECHR to prevent the UK Government from deporting illegal boat migrants to Rwanda, this information MUST be put into the public domain.

Illegal migrants (known by the UNHCR as "refugees") travel to Libya in order to get on boats taking them to Italy, from where many travel north to the French coast to catch another boat to England. Because conditions in Libya are not like the 4-star accommodation these illegal migrants receive in the UK, the EU is paying the UNHCR to put them on flights to Rwanda - which they consider to be a safe country. We present the first part of our evidence below.

The EU’s conspiracy of silence

The EU Commission has issued no recent press release or statement about this (that we can find). All our attempts to access the links on its EEAS (‘European External Action Service’’) website resulted in pages ‘hanging’. In the end we were forced to go to the African Union website where the information was readily available. We also have a statement from 2019, from the then EU Commissioner, which we publish below.

The EU's funding of these flights

It is the EU that is funding this operation, at least in part, using money from its ‘Emergency Trust Fund for Africa’. This is an "off-the-books" EU fund which is not part of the officially-declared EU budget. The UK paid into this fund (c.£600m) when it was a member although this was never included by HM Treasury as part of the UK's net contributions to the EU budget.

In November 2019 on a visit to Rwanda, the EU’s then Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, announced a further €10.3 million grant for the UNHCR's Emergency Transit Mechanism (ETM) in the country, to provide accommodation for migrants.

According to a UNHCR report which Facts4EU.Org has seen, the EU's total so far comes to €77 million.

This Rwanda initiative built on the example of the earlier ETM grant for Niger, through which over 4,000 asylum seekers have been sent from Libya starting in 2017.

In PART II tomorrow we will present further, incontrovertible evidence directly from the EU, the UNHCR, and the African Union - in their own words - that they each consider Rwanda to be a safe country.

Observations

The EU’s and UN’s hypocrisy and duplicity must be called out

The EU-funded United Nations flights started to Niger in 2017 and then to Rwanda from 2019. This programme has now been extended until 2026.

It seems that according to both the UN and the EU, Rwanda is a perfectly safe country to house and process illegal migrants (called “refugees” by the UN and EU). Despite this, the UN gave evidence to the UK Supreme Court last week saying the opposite.

The hypocrisy and duplicity of the open borders globalists and human rights lawyers from the EU, the UN, and from the UK apparently know no bounds. In PART II tomorrow we will present evidence which proves without doubt that the EU, the UNHCR, and the African Union consider Rwanda to be a safe country.

Imagine what we could do with £600 mil. Instead that money was sent to the EU for them to use as they please. NO finances should be off the book's when your paying for something. That's just plain corruption.
England needs to be punished for voting for Brexit. "Economic" migrants on the doorstep are part of that. The Government and the Blob are complicit in that.

The UKG's current proposed scheme, going back to April 2022, has incurred £140million costs to date if I recall correctly & although numbers sent there initially would be low, the funding is also to allow for capacity building. The UKG's lawyer is putting forward the UK's position in considering Rwanda to be trustworthy in treating asylum seekers humanely, outlining measures that would ensure their safety including independent monitoring, quarterly reports to the UK on the status of every migrant deported to Rwanda and two Home Office officials permanently based in Kigali to oversee the scheme. The assurances are central to the UKG's case that gives ministers powers to detain & deport anyone to a third safe country or home country who arrives in the UK illegally.
Based on what we now know from Facts4eu surely it should be considered a lawful scheme. I don't recall government going out of their way to inform about EU/what we now read. What people would like to know I suspect, in simple terms, is what is lawful about what's been happening elsewhere compared to what our UKG has proposed. We do know however that Labour have said it will be knocked on the head, unless I've missed any change there.... even if the UKG can eventually get it up & running.
( The UN Refugee Agency's interventions / legal challenges opined that Rwanda lacked " irreducible minimum components of an accessible, reliable, fair and efficient asylum system " .......quote DT 10/10/23 ) This is due to rumble on for some time yet.
