Ahead of the local council elections on Thursday (04 May 2023), Facts4EU and CIBUK talked to Dr Teck Khong, the leader of the The Alliance for Democracy and Freedom Party (ADF) about the party's policies.

This 18-minute video interview covers immigration, climate change, Brexit, foreign policies, the NHS, the response to the Covid pandemic, globalism, the World Economic Forum, and more.

Still a young organisation, Dr Khong was keen to stress the positive alternative to traditional Conservative/Labour politics which ADF presents to ordinary people.

“It's been the primary mission of the Alliance for Democracy and Freedom to be the third force in British politics.
"The reason we want to achieve that is we know that a lot of people out there are sick and tired of the shenanigans in Parliament between Labour and Conservative, while the people are losing out.

“None of us in the ADF party have any egos, no illusions about a name change moving forward as a different entity. But we really need - if you're sincere about serving the people - we need to start somewhere. And as far as the local elections are concerned, I think yes, first and foremost, our Council candidates would look to serve the people on local issues. And they are actually free from being whipped because we want our candidates who become Counsellors to respond directly to the issues, to the residents they represent.”

The ADF solution to how Brexit and peace in Northern Ireland is for the UK to refuse to put a border between NI and RoI and leave that to the EU, this is just rediculous, any border is two way, same as at Dover. To suggest this shows that ADF are not a serious proposition.

Border checks and the border posts were a major issue and target during the Troubles. This would push Ireland toward unification and potentially a return to the Troubles driven by the Unionists.

The GF agreement was made when RoI and UK were both in the EU and single market and made GF possible. Brexit should have considered NI in more detail. Because It didn’t we’ve ended up with a BRINO ish compromise, but of course this is the fault of Rejoiners.

1. Sparky , The one thing we have heard multiple times abut the border issue is that it is to protect the Single Market. OK, but that means that it is incumbent on the EU to protect its Market, not incumbent on everyone else to do the protection for it. If we can have a UK wide Market with light touch and technological regulation, then that is all we need. We don't have to impose the mirror image of heavyweight EU regulation on ourselves.
A border is two-way, that's obvious, but that does not mean that the side that is the most protectionist, authoritarian and paranoid can impose its own practices on everyone else.
We saw this during the Cold War. You don't have to impose the authoritarians' notion of "security" on yourself. You can continue to have a loosr and less regulated society even if they feel they have to regulate every box of biscuits./

1. Sparky , "The GF agreement was made when RoI and UK were both in the EU and single market and made GF possible." So what? The UK is no longer part of the EU, so anything that depended on UK membership of the EU no longer applies.
The GFA does still apply and its provisions are still in force, so obviously the GFA does *not* depend on UK membership of the EU, and will go on without that. The GFA applies directly to NI and does not require EU involvement. It is an agreement that has its own provisions that help to manage the NI situation, but it does so directly, not through Brussels. Brussels has almost nothing to say about the GFA. If the EU disappeared tomorrow, the GFA would still be required, it would still exist, and it would still be the basic framework of day to day politics in NI.
The only thing the EU can really do in NI is make a mistake, which is to make themselves part of Nationalism, and they are making it, as they always do. The EU has never made enough mistakes that it can;'t find another mistake to make

From what I have seen from that video is that are proposing what are described in the GFA as normal security arrangements between two sovereign nations in respects to goods movements. How each implement it is a sovereign decision.

The bombing of border posts was not confined to the "troubles" timeline, there were major bombing campaigns
"Blowing up customs huts had always been a favourite I.R.A. tactic and a number had gone up in 1937 in protest against a visit by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth."

Actually, the fault lies in Brussels which refused to look at the practicalities and refused permission for both ROI/UK customs to talk the issues through. And that is something that even Irish Revenue told the Irish Parliament

It's a bit like groundhog day when EUlings cite repeatedly misleading/conflating 'facts' as they seem to have 'forgotten' previous discussions, or think that we have.
The only time that there has been a 'hard' border (the one invariably inferred in all discussions about 'the border') between Ireland & N. Ireland since seperation was during the BSE period, and that border was erected & maintained by Ireland. It does demonstrate that Ireland can & did operate a proper border. If they wish, they can do it again & at any time.
The 'border' repeatedly referred to in this saga was a military border. This was to control insurgents wanting to freely access NI and cause problems. There was no check of people leaving. There was no check on goods, except for guns, explosives & insurgent connections. If someone was smuggling cigarettes or red diesel, it was not the checkpoint soldiers' problem. That border finished a long time ago now & should never return, & certainlynot for 'trade'. There are other 'borders' between the countries for currency, VAT & measurements.
The shambles regarding NI is due to activist snivel serpents advising complicit EU Govt & MPs to overturn their instructions to leave the EU, by fair or foul means. NI is being used as a back door method of control of the UK by the EU. Sadly, our Govt are fully complicit in this insidious deception.

France's credit rating has been downgraded by Fitch to negative AA - a consequence of the sustained explosion of debt and the current societal crisis.

6 JL. And that is why the WF effectively keeps NI in the single market
7 CT. Yes there has always been objections to border posts. When UK and RoI both agreed to the Maastricht Treaty effectively removing borders this started to diffuse border issues and GF followed a few years later.
8 NL. The BSE period is not relevant. The mess of NI in relation to Brexit is to preserve peace, an established principal very early in Brexit negotiations and maintained by Johnson (slang version). Farage and Hoey suggested a solution even recently, that the RoI should leave the EU, rediculous.
