Major new Brexit statement is launched today, backed by eight major groups

Brexit Facts4EU.Org is pleased to announce the launch today of a Brexit fightback involving a statement backed by eight Brexit organisations. The launch involves a simple 12-point statement, showing why ‘binning the Backstop’ on its own still won’t deliver Brexit.

The statement shows why only a complete tearing up of the Withdrawal Agreement - and a re-set of the terms of the UK’s departure from the EU - will deliver the clean-break Brexit which the British people expected when they voted to leave in 2016.

A combined Brexit effort

In a joint initiative led by Brexit Facts4EU.Org, these groups have come together to back a series of summaries showing why the Withdrawal Agreement minus the backstop is still “an existential threat to the United Kingdom”. Each group is acting individually.

Today we are publishing the first ‘one-pager’ - an easy-to-read 12-point summary of why a revised Withdrawal Agreement would still be a Surrender Treaty, if it only amends the Northern Ireland Backstop.

Removing the Backstop doesn’t even come close to being Brexit

All the groups backing this new statement are concerned that the Government seems focused only on amending the Backstop, rather than on tackling all the other major problems in a deal which the PM recently proclaimed as “dead”, such was the level of opposition to it – including the PM’s own opposition.

A spokesperson from Brexit Facts4EU.Org said:

“The majority of the British people voted to leave the EU. They did not vote for BRINO - ‘Brexit In Name Only’. They voted to leave the EU.

“Any attempt by the Government to pass a re-hashed ‘May 2.0’ Surrender Treaty through Parliament will be seen for what it is by the public. If it is presented and if it should get through, they’ll be hammered in the next general election.”

A Fishing for Leave spokesperson added:

“The ‘Withdrawal Agreement’ – even without the Backstop - obliges us to re-obey the Common Fisheries Policy after leaving, with no say or escape. The EU can impose any detrimental rules which we must obey under ‘good faith’, to cull what’s left of our fleet.”

Tom Bohills, co-founder of the Alliance of British Entrepreneurs commented:

“The WA is a worst of all worlds fudge that suits no-one.

“In a fast paced, globally competitive corporate landscape, UK business must have the ability to innovate and thrive away from the sclerotic influence of the EU. Brexit is the chance for UK businesses to work hand in glove with the Government to make this country the best place in the world to be an entrepreneur. We must not squander that by committing our brilliant business community to the eternal servitude of EU dictats.”

All the groups have vowed to oppose any watered-down version of Theresa May’s Withdrawal Agreement, as they say it would only deliver ‘Brexit in name only’ - BRINO.

The damning 12-point summary of any new ‘deal’ based on what Mrs May agreed

The 12-point one-pager from the Brexit groups clearly shows that any revised version of Mrs May’s Withdrawal Agreement will put the UK under the de facto jurisdiction of a group of 27 foreign powers, leaving the UK powerless to veto laws or procedures affecting the UK and its citizens.

It goes on to cover the UK’s inability to do trade deals to reduce the prices of goods, the continued loss of control of fishing waters, the increasing EU integration of our military and intelligence capabilities, as well as what the paper calls “the biggest divorce settlement in history”.

This paper is the first salvo in an initiative which will see further one-pagers on all key Brexit topics, as well as a ranking of MPs based on how they have voted on Brexit and how well they have respected Leave majorities in their constituencies.

Observations

For Brexit groups to come together like this - and agree a common statement - shows the level of concern that exists amongst the majority who voted to leave the EU.

Currently there is no proposal from the Government which involves a re-worded ‘May 2.0’ Withdrawal Agreement and Political Declaration. However the reason for the concern lies in two simple facts:

1. Almost all the Government’s statements have only referred to removing the Backstop, and the Home Secretary Priti Patel – once an ardent Brexiteer – told the BBC at the weekend that she would back the deal if the backstop were removed.

2. There is insufficient time to negotiate a fundamentally-new separation agreement before 31 October. This must mean a clean-break Brexit.

Given the above we felt it prudent to act now, to ensure that the Government understands that the British people will not be fooled into thinking that a modified ‘May 2.0’ Withdrawal Agreement would represent Brexit.

In undertaking this initiative, the Brexit groups involved propose to ensure that voters are fully informed - and to ensure that the Government will take notice. They will each do so in their own way.

Congratulations to everyone involved with this new initiative. The WA agreement is and always was a surrender document, probably written entirely by the EU, and rubber stamped by that woman. Not having left after over 3 years is a national humiliation and disgrace of the entire political and judicial establishment.
This after the largest democratic exercise and result in British history.

The 12 point leaflet is an excellent summary:
Readers should note that it takes about 1 hour to deliver 100 leaflets.
If you can afford it, then thicker paper/card is easier to put through letterboxes.

The big mouths in the Labour and SNP parties plus Tory Federalists have assembled a majority of weak kneed MP's frightened to leave the EU without an agreement. They will never vote for the abhorrent WA, not because they dislike it, but because they seek the easy life of remaining.
The reality is the Council backs Barnier's insistence on the backstop, which is their means of creating an invisible EU border (EEA) on Ireland.
Neither the Cooper- Letwin nor the Benn Acts propose any solution to the backstop. They are not going anywhere, as they cannot carry out their supposed purpose of further negotiation. The current extension and the Benn one yet to be granted, specifically prohibit the reopening of the Withdrawal Agreement and discussion of the Political Declaration.
The 19th October will come and go and the PM does not have to request an extension that has no purpose.
Michel Barnier has reaffirmed yesterday, 18th September 2019 that the Withdrawal Agreement cannot be reopened. The UK and EU "should not pretend to be negotiating" a Brexit deal if there are no new proposals on the table, the EU's chief negotiator said.
31st October we leave by default, the only means of getting out.

What is the credible alternative the Labour Party want to put to the Public. The public made their choice in 1916.
The two acts brokered by Labour MP's are stymied because the EU will not reopen the WA.
The credible alternative appears to include a Customs Union.
Brussels have made it clear the Customs Union is in the Political Declaration, entry to which is achieved by ratifying the WA.
On past performance Parliament shows no intention of ever voting through the WA. End of story.

I've obtained a quote from a local printer (too, maybe you can form groups to fund this; too, to offset the cost you can be paid by other companies to distribute their leaflets at the same time although this weakens the advertising message and can irritate householders - for example, I was offered £150 by a tradesman to distribute 3,000 leaflets = about £5 per hour - but best not to do this if you can afford not to). Quote as follows (A4):

May I congratulate all six groups mentioned above for working together to achieve our common aim. These are the facts, and no remoaner MP can challenge actual official facts.
The ranting mobs who continue to protest and shame our country, probably don't know the first thing about the EU, and probably know nothing about how business works.
It would be interesting to know which MPs have not read the entire WA and what it gives away - and if they have, do they understand what they're trying to sell the UK population.
Do remain-voting MPs understand they wish to place our country into the hands of a foreign power forever, despite the largest majority vote in British history [on a very high turnout] saying otherwise.
Do MPs understand we wish to hand our young people a fully independent sovereign nation state where they will become masters, and will not be governed by a foreign land, just as our forebears handed to us.
On that matter, it is laughable the first Minister's of Scotland and Wales should talk of independence when THEY KNOW they're lying to the people. You CANNOT be independent as a member of the EU, and that's a simple matter of fact remoaners dare not suggest.
MPs have had decades to discuss EEC/EC/EU matters, but now they're actually forced into discussion at the last moments, they're panicking, as are the EU.
It should never be forgotten the Heath government massively lied to the country in the 1970's and covered it up (see FCO 30/1048). This was overturned in June 2016.
I again congratulate all groups for working together at this important time, and I'm certain more groups will hop on board.
I refuse to be governed by a foreign entity.
One only needs to look back over the decades and view the policies of most political party's who were against joining the EEC, which now make them look like fools and hypocrites?

Just when I thought politicians could get any lower and anymore dishonourable-along comes David Cameron who committs an act of treason-he tells everyone about confidential conversations he with the queen during the Scottish referendum-and all make more money selling his grubby book-we really need to clear out that cesspit at westminster
