Our analysis of results shows TBP easily beat Angela Merkel’s party

Brexit Facts4EU.Org can now report that not only did the Brexit Party win in the UK, it will become the largest single political party in the new EU Parliament.

Our in-depth research of the raw data from the EU Parliament in respect of the EU elections has thrown up some interesting facts.

The Brexit Party is a single party, not a coalition

Some of the mainstream media are reporting that the Brexit Party has the joint-highest number of MEPs of any of the other winning parties in any EU country.

In fact the other party they refer to is a coalition. This is Angela Merkel’s CDU/CSU coalition in Germany, which has looked very fragile in the last couple of years. According to the German Federal Returning Officer, Angela Merkel’s party received just 22.6% of the vote and achieved just 23 seats, compared to the Brexit Party’s 29 seats.

We look at official information

The British media are reporting results which combine Angela Merkel’s party with its partner in Bavaria, the CSU, which won 6.3% of the vote and 6 seats.

Even if you were to combine these two results, the vote share of 28.9% is still less than the 31.7% vote share of the Brexit Party.

Combining the results is not what the German Federal Returning Officer does. He counts the CDU and CSU as two separate parties, because that’s what they are. If it’s good enough for the Bundeswahlleiter, it’s good enough for us.

It is clear from our analysis that the Brexit Party did not only win the elections in the UK, but it will also be the largest political party in the entire EU Parliament.

The second-biggest political party behind the Brexit Party will be Matteo Salvini’s La Lega (The League) from Italy. Like the Brexit Party, La Lega is firmly Eurosceptic.

The balance of power

In the EU Parliament, ‘blocks’ or ‘groups’ are everything. These are formal groupings of the myriad of political parties represented by MEPs.

These groupings determine the allocation of funding, and they also determine speaking time in debates. In effect, the EU Parliament’s rules force coalitions, sometimes of the unwilling.

This is one issue that seems to have been ignored by the mainstream media, as they seldom stray into the world of EU Parliamentary politics.

The big question ahead is : “Who will Nigel form alliances with?”

I must admit, I am really, *really* looking forward to Nigel's return to Brussels at the head of the new, enlarged, Brexit pack, if only for a short while. His first speech will be a doozy -- as our real friends across the pond say.

The UK media and pro-EU Parties do not report on the functioning of the European Parliament, probably in ignorance. Its all rather dull and not eye catching stuff. It is the approval forum for the work of the Commissions bureaucrats. It only comes to life when Nigel has his occasional spat with Vorhofstadt and Juckner.
It is questionable why the UK Political Parties want to be in the European Union and its Parliament, their MEP's have no influence, we are just rule takers.
A coalition of the Populists, and Visegard group may well change the dominant groupings, sparks may yet fly in Strasbourg
The real influence is effected through the back door at the Berlaymont. Why does big business like EU membership? Why do they have large teams of lobbyists in Brussels.
If I want to know what is going on in Europe I have to read Breitbart.

Thank you to pro-Brexit Facts4EU.org for this article which I've emailed to my staunch remainer MP whose party, among other party's, continue to attempt to try and subvert our democratic 2016 referendum.
It is a sad reflection on our elected Member's of Parliament when they have the audacity to ignore the majority democratic result. They have lost our trust, and it will take some time to rebuild that trust?
They will say we need another vote - I say we do not, we've had the vote, and it's been reaffirmed several times throughout this process. It is the job of Government and MPs to implement the majority vote, just as they do with all other elections/referenda.
As for the Official Opposition in the House of Commons, it should be remembered their 'glorious' leader has been against the EEC onwards for all his political life - until he became Labour leader (make of that what you will, but my thoughts are unprintable!). Also remember many of his MPs resigned from his opposition front benches because they wanted rid of him, and some resigned their party.
I was proud to vote for The Brexit Party in the interests of future generations, so they can grow up in a free independent self governing nation, and all that goes with it. There are some things in life better than roaming charges! This is our country, and we will not be governed by a foreign power.

Its all so stupid. We had a referendum, it was a clear victory for leave. However just like in America, the organised communists cannot accept they lost, so they create mayhem. Lets face it they couldn't care less about the country, Christianity, Marriage or anything else that is decent.
This is why the Conservatives are losing. The other side fights as dirty as one get, and the Conservatives remain like gentlemen in the glare of headlights unable to move/think/apply common sense. It is very clear the remoanians are well funded from various places including the eu itself.
Why are the Conservatives so shocked at their failure?

Why are all the contenders, with the exception of Esther McVey, saying they would negotiate deals before leaving the EU? Have they not read the Terms of the Extension to the Withdrawal Agreement, signed by PM Theresa May in April this year? (See link and Point No. 4 above). They have not done their homework, or done due diligence. Even the newest contender, James Cleverly, has been telling his Constituents that Britain is not joining up to an EU Army. 'Oh yes we are, it's in May's Agreement!' Has he not read it? Even a 14 year old student would do more research for homework than these grown ups applying to be Leader of this country! The only suitable candidate so far, I would venture, is Esther McVey.

'Vince Cable now wields more power and influence in Brussels than Theresa May', would not be difficult!
Does he really? I didn't know he was an MEP.
16 MEP's is an improvement in numbers on 1 but not in influence, for a few months.
Hasn't Cable learnt, MEP's hold no power in the European Parliament. They are there to rubber stamp the Brussels Commission's legislation.

if the Brexit Party wants to be the future & not the past like UKIP or LIBLABCON then it must come up with a Manifesto that is not for the Globalists Big Business or the Backward Trade Unions campaign for a change to our Outdated Voting System raising it to 20 Years Old the only thing I ever agreed with Clegg on was in 2011 when He wanted to change the voting System of course the Tories & Labour want to keep the FPTP system so it keeps alive their arrogant belief in a God given right to rule get rid of the BBC Royals License Fee House of Lords

Adam - precisely.
Electoral reform is clearly very high on TBP agenda so if "the people" get behind this at the next GE, I think we can finally make it happen. After seeing where our flawed two-party system has now brought us, I feel certain that there is finally widespread support for change -- if only on the grounds that "there has to be a better way than this".
As for the manifesto itself, I suspect we'll see a very middle-of-the-road, common sense offering. It will probable aim mostly at current main issues such as housing, education and law enforcement. There will very likely be a very firm commitment made to the NHS (and specific plans to tackle the staff shortages), specifically to counter anti-Farage personal hate spam based on views he expressed a number of years ago but which even he admits is not the majority view in this country. Rightly or wrongly, we love our NHS and we are proud of it, and no party serious about aiming for government in this country can hope to succeed unless it recognises and supports the national feeling.
There will also likely be plans to reduce political correctness and repeal certain laws which currently restrict individual rights and the definitions of freedom of speech.
Mostly it will be about business growth after being freed from the extremely costly burden of many thousands of EU rules & regulations (and aimed at helping SMEs more than big EU corporates), promoting international trade, and attracting investment -- and of course the jobs and prosperity which stems from all of this.
Farage & Co. haven't made many mistakes so far. I don't expect them to start now.

I’m afraid your information here isn’t really correct. The CDU/CSU are to all intents and purposes the same party since they are ALWAYS in unison with each other in government and in opposition in the Bundestag hence why German politicians and the German public refer to them as ‘the Union’. Were the Ulster Unionists effectively not a part of the Conservative and Unionist Party before the globalist Ted Heath ended his term of office in 1974?
Adam Hiley, unfortunately Clegg agreed to the Tory Party’s insistence that the only other option on the ballot paper in that referendum was the very flawed Alternative Vote which was PREFERENTIAL voting in SINGLE MEMBER constituencies and NOT a form (even a mild one) of PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION as even some journalists (who SHOULD have known better) described it as,. Sadly, NO British government in history has ever had the courage, let alone a commitment to basic democratic values or common decency to allow us mere common plebs, serfs and oiks a proper national debate and referendum to change our present archaic system to a form of PR.
I think the Lib Dem’s were very mistaken as the referendum result proved that if they got the public to agree with a change to AV in SINGLE MEMBER constituencies they could then, a few years later, obtain public backing for this PREFERENTIAL system to be upgraded to its MULTI- MEMBER CONSTITUENCY version (which IS a form of PR) called the SINGLE TRANSFERABLE VOTE. The LIb Dems have very firmly, and in my view mistakenly, had an obsession with this one particular and very distinctive form of PR rather than just supporting the principle of PR elections.
Australia has used the Alternative Vote system for about a century now and there is no great movement there to change to a PR system for their lower house( they do use the STV PR system for their pretty powerful Senate though). Once you have AV for your lower house you are pretty much stuck with it.

Adam, the Brexit Party MUST be a party committed to GENUINE democratic reform and thus should offer a manifesto commitment to either legislate for a PR system to be brought into being or, at least, offer the public a choice of various PR systems in a national referendum.
My own strong preference would be for Britain to dump the archaic joke of FPTP and have instead the German system of Mixed Member Proportional Representation. It doesn’t have to be an exact copy of the present German system ie we could vary the PR list element of Germany’s system and have a lower level of these PR ‘top-up’ seats ie about 40%to Germany’s perfect 50% list ratio versus the 50% First Past The Post constituency seats this would still make the overall system very proportional and give a small built-in ‘kink’ to the system thus meaning a party could obtain an overall majority on its own without needing to have 50% or more of the national vote.
Also, unlike Germany, we could use ‘open’ regional lists instead of ‘closed’ ones so that the voters could give an individual preference vote to their favourite candidate within a party’s list. This could avoid the situation where a very objectionable and evil candidate such as the Brexit Party’s IRA supporter Claire Fox MEP would be elected merely for being in a prominent position on a party’s PR list.
The Brexit Party could then be renamed the Brexit and Political Reform Party and have TWO issues to campaign on with the second one able to obtain much more wide ranging support.
