What the heads of Irish Customs said :-

“We have absolutely no plans for anything along the Border at this stage”

“There would not be customs stops on the Border such as applied until 1992 [before the Good Friday Agreement] as described by the Deputy.”

No hard border required, say Irish Customs

Customs to be handled electronically, as largely done at present, and this is now EU policy
Only 2% of goods are currently checked and this won’t change
Irish goods can continue to pass through UK to continent using ‘common transit arrangement’
EU prevents negotiations or discussions taking place between the two sides who can solve the issue

Not only do the Irish Customs believe there effectively isn’t an Irish border problem, they confirm that the British and Irish customs organisations have been prevented by the EU Commission from meeting to agree the new arrangements.

In other words, there are clear solutions to the border issues which both sides agree upon, which:-

Do not require a hard border
Do not require Northern Ireland to stay in a Customs Union with the EU
Do not require Mrs May’s ‘Backstop’ in the Withdrawal Agreement
And which could be implemented if needed

The EU might dream about taking the whole globe over, but let's face it, that won't happen. Therefore it will always have borders just like it has currently. The BBC and other outlets of the media treats the Irish border 'problem' as tapping into some never seen before, therefore highly scary uncharted territory. This obsession - together with many others they have - is absurd.

I think you need to forward this article to the Express and the Sun, in order to fully expose the EU lies on this issue (and the complicit behaviour of May). Such is the explosive nature of the facts presented, they definitely would publish it.

Now you see it, now you don't!!! The legality/illegality of the backstop Irish Customs Border. The red herring, the pretext that the backstop preserves the integrity of the GFA is a misnomer. The withdrawal agreement by PM's choice places the EEA border on the physical Irish border, the Customs border is invisible as long as the UK is kept in the Customs Union. - unless and until both the EU and UK agree that it is no longer necessary. The illegality of the backstop in WE is that it restrains the UK from leaving the European Community (EAA & CU), which Article 50 was supposed to process.
Placing the Customs Border in the Irish Sea immediately activates the EEA border and closes it to smugglers and to maintain alignment between an EU and Non-EU state.
I think Parliament could insist on where border goes. in order to pass the WE.
