Remain MPs have some explaining to do

The figures released by the ONS yesterday clearly show that Brexit Britain continues to be an attractive destination for EU27 workers. An increase of almost 100,000 is significant. This is nearly three times the increase of non-EU nationals working in the UK, in the same period.

Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary

The fundamental fact is that the UK has an expanding economy. ONS figures show that :

  • UK employment rate was estimated at 76.1%, the joint highest on record in the last 48 years
  • UK unemployment rate was estimated at 3.9%, lower than a year earlier (4.0%)
  • UK economic inactivity rate was estimated at 20.7%, the joint lowest in the last 48 years
  • Wages continue to rise faster than inflation

It must be remembered that all of this has been taking place against a background of severe business uncertainty due to the incompetence of the Theresa May administration over the delivery of Brexit, and the actions of anti-democratic MPs in attempting to block Brexit completely.

Meanwhile in the Eurozone, things have not been going so well

Yesterday Brexit Facts4EU.Org published research aimed at young people. We showed how the employment prospects for young people are far worse than in the UK.

Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary

A young British person is:

  • Almost four times more likely to be unemployed in Greece
  • Three times more likely to be unemployed in Spain and Italy
  • And almost twice as likely to be unemployed in our nearest neighbour, France

The figures from the ONS yesterday merely reinforce the weight of evidence that has been accumulating since the British people voted to leave the European Union. The United Kingdom will be far better off out of the dysfunctional and ideologically-driven mire that is the EU.

Miserable, has-been politicians such as Philip Hammond continue to talk down the prospects of the UK outside the EU. The data shows a different story.

People from the EU27 continue to vote with their feet, uprooting themselves and their families, and seeing better prospects from making a new life in an independent United Kingdom.

We think that ordinary people are much smarter than some politicians think.
