The UK must be unshackled from ECHR’s chains to recover democratic control
ECHR was a good idea gone badly wrong and is long past its sell-by date

Our Podcast Editor provides a withering critique on the ECHR—its background, what it has become, and how to rid ourselves of it.
The ECHR was conceived in response to the Nazi jackboot stamping out democracy and crushing human rights in 1930's Germany that led to the horrors of WWII and 60 million dead.
We in the United Kingdom were never in fear of the midnight hammering on the door and of being hauled out of bed to be shot or consigned to a concentration camp. Yet it was Winston Churchill (who else?) who conceived of the ECHR to try to ensure that Europe would be freed of such future tyranny.
Tyranny, of sorts, now sadly resides in the ECHR where the democratic will of the British people is dismissed and ignored. For example, criminals convicted of all manner of serious crimes can't be deported as the ECHR was wholly incorporated into British law by Tony Blair's disastrous Human Rights Act where the rights of criminals are now given preference to the rights of law abiding citizens.
In Episode VI of the Facts4EU Podcast Series III Graham comments why Britain should withdraw from the ECHR and what would be the difficulties involved.
Readers should note that our policy continues to be non-partisan and that this podcast reflects the views of one member speaking personally
Our podcast editor opines on the problems of democratic accountability caused by the ECHR and why and how Britain should withdraw from the Convention.
The Facts4EU Sovereignty Podcasts Season III, Episode VI
Britain must be unshackled from the chains of the European Convention on Human Rights to recover essential democratic control of our country.
The ECHR was a good idea gone badly wrong over time and is long passed its sell-by date.

Observations
Could you volunteer to help us in some way? Graham joined as a volunteer at the end of last year.
With Brexit itself under threat, now more than ever we need your support to counter the Rejoin arguments that are being made on a daily basis.
You can be as part-time as you wish and you don't need to make any commitment merely to offer assistance when you can.
It could be anything, from a simple bit of Google research, to summarising some key points from a government document, to writing a full-blown report, to coding up a piece for the website, to posting on social media, or to any other manner of activity.
We work collaboratively so we fit in help wherever and whenever we can find it in order to produce the finished result. Why not get in touch?
And "Please, please help us to carry on our vital work in defence of independence, sovereignty, democracy and freedom by donating today." Thank you.
