The latest news that Britain's increase in defence spending puts us in 26th position out of 30 NATO countries for percentage increases, some 12 places below Montenegro, is a national disgrace that President Trump will surely not miss when he next targets Britain's decline.

Without dramatically increasing Britain's inadequate defences, the country will be an easy target for Russian and Iranian missiles. Drastic and urgent action is required NOW.

Brexit Britain will be forced to work closely with its European allies on defense … once Trump pulls the USA out of NATO. Trump does not like it that NATO is only a defense organisation.

1, Sceptic "forced" ? We already are !
Britain is already working with Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Norway, ROI, as well as with USA, Japan, Australia, South Korea and others. It's not "Brexit Britain" it's "Global Britain" !

Following the collapse the the German / French fighter jet program Fredrick Merz stated "European Countries do not always have the same defence requirements". Germany is now considering joining the UK / Japan / Italian "Global Combat Aircraft Program". Germany is also collaborating with other non-EU nations such as South Korea, Japan and Australia as are most EU countries.

The problem for Kier Starmer is how to pay for defence. He has just increased welfare payments above inflation (making UK more attractive to migrants), and is desperate to give UK money to Malaysia, France and the EU, for no return, I am not optimistic. He seems to be completely oblivious about the upcoming Global Economic crisis, maybe he is just preparing more excuses.

Brexitears hoped we could turn away from Europe towards the USA. It’s clear now that we have more interest in working with Europe to counter any future threat.

Without Brexit we would have been in a stronger position to benefit from the increased defence spending in Europe.

3 G. You need to look again at history. Have a closer look at Blenheim, Waterloo for the role of British forces. Look at casualties by country for WWI. Look at how reliant we were on USA in WWII. Or the mess of following USA into Iraq.

According to Independent Military Research Since 2022 EU defence purchases from other EU members has declined from 62% to 44% of the total with major defence purchases increasing from Brazil, South Korea, Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States. It seems to be the EU that's turning away from the EU.

You seem to be blissfully unaware that Britain only entered the first world war in order to defend Belgian neutrality, and was able to put fewer than 100,000 men into the field.
Germany had an army of a million
France had an army of a million

If you look at history again you may discover that Britain's involvement in the "Spanish war of succession" of which Blenheim was a part, was on behalf of the "Grand Alliance".
Marlborough marched his army 250 miles to Blenheim and defeat the Franco/Bavarian army and ensure the safety of Vienna.The
