‘If they can carpet-bomb Australia’s countryside, Mr Miliband can do the same to the UK’

A must-watch film of how Net Zero policies are destroying Australia’s livelihoods and landscape

What you are about to see – if you decide to watch it - is a very troubling documentary made in Australia. It concerns the impact of Net Zero policies on people rather than on the climate, in a country that is ahead of the UK in the implementation of these policies.

With the UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Ed Miliband, having now embarked on an aggressive policy of approving – effectively by executive order - applications to build wind and solar farms in the United Kingdom, the question after watching the movie must be :

“If they can carpet-bomb Australia’s countryside and coastlines like this,
how long will it be before Mr Miliband does the same to the UK?”

Ed Miliband and the road to (green) power

The new Labour Government announced its intent within days of winning the 2024 general election and has proceeded apace since then, launching its ‘Action Plan’ containing many major changes, including giving the power of approval for more renewables projects to ministers. Driving all of this is of course the Net Zero Secretary, Ed Miliband, whose views could be described as being on the extreme end of climate change thinking.

Last month we saw these moves in action, with ministerial approval by Mr Miliband of a huge solar farm in Lincolnshire owned by Labour’s largest donor. A second solar farm in the county was also waived through at the same time.

These two solar farms alone will carpet a combined area of more than 2,500 acres of farmland in Lincolnshire, turning them into fields of dark grey solar panels. They are just a small part of what is needed if Mr Miliband is to reach his Net Zero targets in five years’ time.

What this film is all about

The film shows in stark terms what is happening to vast swathes of Australia’s beautiful land and of its glorious coastline. The film features footage which is both stunning and shocking in equal measure, showing what has already taken place as well as testimony from ordinary people affected by these developments.

The documentary does not deal with the ‘science’ of Net Zero, but rather the effect of government policies on people’s lives and on the environments in which they live. Notably these people do not live in Australia’s cities, such as Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Darwin, Hobart, or the country’s capital Canberra.

The policies and plans drawn up and supported by politicians and energy company bosses do not affect city dwellers, which they typically are. Instead the film focuses on rural and coastal Australia, where the developments have been taking place, with many more planned.
