'Twas the Friday ere Christmas at Facts4EU

Strange tidings were being heard

Today there’s no Facts4EU report. We did not have the resource to do it, after all the effort that went into the report on benefit claimants and why Rachel Reeves needed to raise taxes once again. It is only possible with a larger team and we no longer have that, due to cutting back as a result of donation levels dropping.

For many years we published seven days-a-week, before reluctantly having to drop to five days in the last couple of years. Now, we are having to consider publishing four days-a-week. This still means we will be the most prolific publisher of all the independence and pro-Brexit groups in the country. It is ironic that one or two of the big names who attract large annual donations publish only sporadically, and even then their work doesn’t make it into the media each week the way ours does.

To be very clear with our readers, the level of donations we receive barely covers the cost of one day’s operation a week. The shortfall is made up by our Chairman. We are now having to cut back further and our future is uncertain. If you can help, now is the time to do it!

Below are yet another couple of examples from Facts4EU in the media again this week.

The first is GB News' coverage of our report yesterday, on the increase in benefits payments.

We have been working with GB News for 18 months now, which makes us one of their longest-serving providers of articles and interviews.

As you can see to the right, their article covering our report was the lead story on the Politics and Money pages yesterday, as well as being on their homepage and other lead pages.

The second is an ‘op-ed’ - an opinion piece short for ‘opposite the editorial’ - on the Government’s sudden announcement that the UK is joining the EU’s Erasmus+ scheme.

It was commissioned from our Chairman by GB News at the last minute, but thanks to our encyclopaedic library of reports on all aspects of independence, sovereignty, democracy and freedoms, we were able to step in and produce an article at very short notice.

As you can see to the right, our Chairman's op-ed was the lead story on the Opinion and Politics pages yesterday, as well as being on their homepage.

Whilst we can reach tens of thousands – and for some reports over half-a-million – we are sure readers will agree that collaborating with ‘Britain’s News Channel’ helps our well-researched work reach a large number of people who would otherwise not see it.

Please do your bit by clicking on the GBN images for both articles to increase page views (which they monitor) and keep us flying high! Please note: It doesn't matter if it asks you to become a member and you don't want to - it still counts!

Could you join the team?

We know we have highly knowledgeable readers because of the emails we receive. It would be wonderful to have some new people join our informal little team. Are you retired, or otherwise have time on your hands? Could you write articles? Could you research them, perhaps?

You do not need to have any qualifications other than an interest in current affairs. You do not need to commit to a full-time job. If you can devote some time each week to researching and writing articles, we would love to hear from you.

You can write to the 'editors' at facts4eu.org or use our contact form to make an informal enquiry, without in any way committing yourself. Unfortunately, given the current state of our finances we can't pay you, so you would be doing it for the love of your country! Please do consider it.

What we really need is funding

People sometimes ask us "How much do you need?" to which we give a hollow laugh, because we know no-one has that kind of money except the seriously rich. The simple answer is that we need a minimum of £15,000 per month on top of the donations and fees we already receive.

The more complete answer is that either we find a patriotic billionaire or a good number of rich people prepared to donate £500 or £1,000 per month. Ideally of course, if more than 1% of our readers who read us for free each day were to donate a small amount each month we would be home and dry!

What we really need is funding. We rely wholly on patriotic members of the public to survive. Please donate today if you would like to continue reading us tomorrow, next week, and the weeks after.
