We present the GB News video, plus more information about the Swiss independence movement

On Friday Martin Daubney, presenter on GB News and former Brexit Party MEP, interviewed one of our international colleagues from Switzerland about leaving the ECHR. This came about after our report on Thursday about the ECHR ruling against Switzerland on 'climate change', which will affect the UK. The Brexit Facts4EU.Org team made this happen and the five-minute video is below.

Firstly, who are ‘Pro Schweiz’ and what do they believe in?

The GB News interviewee is Stephan Rieteker, the President of Pro Schweiz, a Swiss independence movement which has successfully combined three organisations into one and and created a powerful voice for ordinary Swiss people who value their traditional freedoms.

Brexit Facts4EU.Org and CIBUK.Org have worked with this Swiss movement for some time and are delighted to have secured this GB News platform to inform the British public about the act of the Court of the ECHR to rule against this sovereign, non-EU country. Martin Daubney is fair-minded and covers stories the BBC will not touch.

Once again we must stress that this ECHR ruling about climate change against Switzerland affects the UK which will now be subject to claims for damages. This arises because the UK still follows ECHR case law, no matter how dubious the grounds for their judgements might be, nor by how much they are extending their remit so far beyond what was envisaged in the original treaty last century.

Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary

The threats to the Swiss way of life from the EU and others, as Pro Schweiz sees them

  • “Serious efforts by the country’s political elite to surrender our independence and align ourself with centralized supra-organizations like the EU and NATO
  • “The strong centralist tendencies of international organizations wanting to bring countries around the world into line with each other
  • “Ever-increasing efforts by a small domestic minority to erode the freedoms of our citizens and to indoctrinate and dictate to them”

The organisation goes on to say:

  • “Pro Switzerland wants to put a stop to this! Pro Switzerland respects Swiss tradition. Pro Switzerland is not politically affiliated. It is not interested in ideologies and party political bickering, but purely and simply in the best solutions for our country and our people, for freedom, peace, independence, safety and prosperity.
  • “Pro Switzerland wants to create framework conditions and opportunities for young people in particular to thrive.”

Observations

Firstly, thank goodness for GB News. At least there is one mainstream broadcaster that will cover important stories like this. We are grateful to Martin Daubney for picking up our story, understanding its importance, and interviewing our Swiss colleague.

We would love to be proved wrong but we simply can’t imagine the BBC or Sky News or ITN inviting Dr Rieteker on to their channels.

Switzerland’s neutrality and NATO

Many British and international readers will identify with the concerns of Pro Swizerland and the Swiss people.

The only area of difference for British readers may be the principle of the centuries-old tradition of Swiss neutrality, which means they will not join NATO. Now that previously-neutral Sweden has joined NATO, we believe there is value in one European country maintaining its neutrality. This is not always seen by the public but it has great diplomatic value in times of conflict, as a place where antogonists can negotiate peace on neutral soil.

Finally, we ARE getting the messages out there. Please support us in doing far more.

We must get reports like this out there

Reports like the one above take far longer to research, write and produce than many people realise. If they were easy, readers would see other organisations also producing these daily. However, there’s little point in the Facts4EU.Org team working long hours, seven days-a-week, if we lack the resources to promote them effectively – to the public, to MPs, and to the media. This is where you come in, dear reader.

Facts4EU.Org needs you today

We are a 'not for profit' team (we make a loss) and any payment goes towards the actual work, not plush London offices, lunch or taxi expenses, or other luxuries of some organisations.

We badly need more of our thousands of readers to become members, to support this work. Could this be you, today? It's quick and easy, we give you a choice of two highly secure payment providers, and we do NOT ask you for further support if you pay once. We just hope you keep supporting us. Your membership stays anonymous unless you tell us otherwise.

Please don't assume that other people will keep us going - we don't receive enough to survive and we need your help today. Could you help us? We rely 100% on public contributions from readers like you.

If you believe in a fully-free, independent, and sovereign United Kingdom, please join now by clicking on one of the links below or you can use our Support page here. You will receive a personal, friendly ‘thank you’ from a member of our team within 48 hours. Thank you.
