Trump backs Eurosceptic parties against the EU machine at mass rally in Madrid
“A small number of bureaucrats in Brussels think they can create Europe,” says Polish PM

Stars of EU Euroscepticism turn out at Madrid’s “Vox 22” to condemn EU Commission
A two-day rally in Madrid organised by Spain’s Eurosceptic Vox party saw tens of thousands mass to hear speeches by the leading lights of the Eurosceptic movement.
They were joined by President Donald Trump via video from his aircraft in the US, where he is campaigning ahead of the mid-term elections next month.
Italy’s Meloni, Hungary’s Orban, Poland’s Morawiecki, France’s Le Pen, Spain’s Abascal – and the Donald
Whilst none of the parties represented at this rally are openly advocating leaving the EU, they are all nonetheless strongly Eurosceptic and against the formation of the EU superstate dreamt of by the unelected bureaucrats plotting in the corridors of Brussels.
One of the star turns was of course the surprise guest appearance by the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, who addressed the leader of the Vox party and the many thousands present by video from his plane where he is criss-crossing America.
“We have to make sure that we protect our borders and do lots of very good conservative things. Spain is a great country and we want to keep it a great country.”
The following video is in English.
Vox’s leader Santiago Abascal returned the compliment, saying:
“My thanks to President Donald Trump, a visionary in the fight for sovereign nations.”
“Io sono Giorgia”
One of the other star turns was of course the newly elected Giorgia Meloni, leader of the victorious Brothers of Italy party in last month’s Italian elections. She joined by video link saying :-
“Only by winning in our countries can Europe become a political giant that we want, and not a bureaucratic giant.
"We are not monsters, the people understand that. Long live Vox, long live Spain, long live Italy, long live Europe patriots.”

Another well-known act joined the line-up in the form of Hungary’s Viktor Orban who has the largest democratic mandate of any EU leader, having secured over 50% of the vote at the last election.
Another ‘bad boy of Europe’, Poland’s Mateusz Morawiecki, also took to the stage, telling the crowd:-“The train from Rome has just arrived in Brussels; the one from Madrid, led by my friend Santiago Abascal, is about to leave.”
”A small number of bureaucrats in Brussels think they can create Europe but they are wrong. Europe is made of nations. Free and sovereign nations.”
The rapid rise of Vox in Spain echoes Meloni’s rise to power in Italy
The Brussels bureaucrats referred to by the Polish Prime Minister must be eyeing the growth in support for Eurosceptic parties with some alarm.
Below we show the rise to power of Meloni’s Brother of Italy, followed by the increasing electoral success of Spain’s Vox party.

Spain’s next election is next year. Barring slip-ups, it seems perfectly possible that they will enter government for the first time, in coalition with the PP party.
Observations
It will come as no surprise to readers that the BBC has chosen not to mention this large event in Spain, involving so many international leaders and including a strong message from President Trump.
As usual, Facts4EU.Org is pleased to put this right. The UK might now be outside the EU but that doesn’t mean British people have no interest in what is going on with our close neighbours.
