Facts4EU.Org provides official facts on the chronic mismanagement of the country

The day after the Office for National Statistics revealed that net UK immigration in the year to June 2022 totalled a record 504,000, Facts4EU.Org and CIBUK.Org can expose the astonishing rise in the number of people registered at GP practices in England alone.

The number of people registered with a GP in England rose by 854,707 in the year to June 2022. In the last five years it has risen by more than 2.5 million.

Is it any wonder people can’t get a doctor's appointment?

From a dearth… to a deluge… to deaths

There are days when official announcements and releases of official data are thin on the ground. On other days there is a deluge, and so it proved yesterday in the United Kingdom.

On the same day the ONS revealed that annual net immigration into the UK had gone over 0.5 million for the first time, NHS England also released its latest data on GPs and appointments.

In today’s report Facts4EU.Org pulls together two separate – but related – sets of official data. For ordinary people the connection between the two will be obvious, even if the Government prefers voters not to make that connection.

It is simply not possible to accept a huge number of additional residents (504,000) without them needing all the (increasingly scarce) resources and services which the existing population is using. The impacts are felt across everything from the transport network to housing to welfare to schools to healthcare.

With NHS waiting lists now topping seven million and growing, and excess mortality rising alarmingly, Facts4EU.Org felt it appropriate to look at how the numbers of people registered with a GP practice in England have risen in the last five years.

Half a million more residents, 850,000 more patients for GPs

For a great many readers, access to health services is a basic and vital requirement and should be a given in the fifth-largest economy in the world. This usually starts with your local GP.

Observations

Facts4EU.Org has published detailed reports on immigration on a regular basis over the past seven years. We will produce another such report on the latest ONS figures soon. However today we have focused on one of the impacts.

As a result of devolution, there are no summary figures on GPs available for the whole of the UK. We can only present the figures for NHS England. We must also provide the caveat that despite them employing tens of thousands of bureaucrats and despite having a CEO being paid over a quarter of a million pounds a year, they cannot say how many people have been double-counted. This can occur when someone moves to a different area and registers with a new GP practice without informing the previous one.

That said, we suggest the official data we have analysed above makes for sobering reading.

This is not party-political

Both Facts4EU.Org and CIBUK.Org are non-partisan. The chronic increase in net immigration started under Tony Blair's 'New Labour' government. Whilst it has continued and increased under Conservative administrations, we do not believe either party is capable of tackling the problem. North of the border things are worse, as it is SNP policy to increase immigration.

There still seems to be little appreciation in Westminster of the strength of feeling in large parts of the country about the impact of mass immigration on the services ordinary people are trying to access. Quite where this will lead is uncertain but there is no doubt that this is set to become a very serious issue for the United Kingdom as a whole.

We must get reports like this out there

Reports like the one above take far longer to research, write and produce than many people realise. If they were easy, readers would see other organisations also producing these daily.

However, there’s little point in the Facts4EU.Org team working long hours, seven days-a-week, if we lack the resources to promote them effectively – to the public, to MPs, and to the media. This is where you come in, dear reader.

Facts4EU.Org needs you today

We are a 'not for profit' team (we make a loss) and any payment goes towards the actual work, not plush London offices, lunch or taxi expenses, or other luxuries of some organisations.
