Jobs are up, earnings are up, and the EU still looks like the poor relation
On Tuesday (17 May 2022) the latest labour market figures were released, showing that unemployment in Brexit Britain has continued to fall since the EU Referendum in June 2016.
In this Facts4EU.Org Sunday Summary we present the official facts, researched from the figures issued by the Office for National Statistics last week.
Global inflation is rising but at least more of us in Brexit Britain have jobs
We may be facing a cost of living crisis caused by global events, but at least the independent United Kingdom has a buoyant jobs market. As readers will remember, this contrasts starkly with the mass unemployment predicted by the Government of David Cameron prior to the EU Referendum.

Observations
The Rejoiners' world of make believe
Imagine for a moment if the above figures were reversed. Imagine the delighted crowing from Rejoiners, blaming Brexit for the UK having an unemployment rate nearly double that of the Eurozone.
The reality is the polar opposite. The independent United Kingdom continues to put the European Union to shame when it comes to jobs.
We have turbulent times ahead, as the impacts of the massive printing of money during the Covid crisis and the hugely damaging effects of the Government’s policies on climate change, plus the effects of Putin’s war in Ukraine, are felt.
All countries are now experiencing very high inflationary pressures. But at least in Brexit Britain far more of us are in gainful employment than in the average EU member country.
