“Never mind the Hancocks” - All the world’s political 'elites' seem to be at it

WATCH: Macron’s mask-less and repeated ‘heavy patting’ of President Biden in Cornwall

Facts4EU.Org presents the ‘home videos’ of the French President’s stay on the Cornish Riviera

The last few days have been full of stories about the (now former) British Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, being filmed while kissing and groping a colleague in his office and ignoring the Covid guidance and rules that he was telling the rest of us to follow.

Facts4EU.Org now presents the ‘home videos’ and pictures of French President Emmanuel Macron during his three-day stay on the Cornish Riviera for the G7 Summit two weeks ago.

Macron effectively bans all but double-vaccinated holiday-makers from Brexit Britain

We are publishing this information in light of the French government's effective ban on British holiday-makers - except those who are fully vaccinated with two doses of the vaccine.

This week the French government will once again urge other EU countries such as Spain, Greece, Italy and Portugal to adopt an EU-wide ban.

French President: ‘touchy-feely’ with President Biden, only ‘elbow-bumpy’ with Boris

At the time of the G7 summit (11-13 June 2021), masks were obligatory in France both indoors and in the open air, social distancing had to be practised, and there was a night-time curfew on all citizens.

Below we present photos and videos of President Macron with the US President, with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and with Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa. The majority of these come from President Macron’s own self-promotional activities, filmed by his staff or by tv crews.

Intimate gallic charm for the US President, rather more bumpy for Boris and Carrie

In the videos that Facts4EU.Org has seen, it seems that President Macron took every possible opportunity to sidle up to the elderly US President and engage in close physical contact – patting him, wrapping his arm around him, and speaking literally face-to-face at a distance of approximately one foot away. It seems that Monsieur Macron couldn’t keep his hands or eyes off the American President.

Conversely the British Prime Minister generally managed to keep his distance from his French counterpart. The only physical contact we observed was ‘elbow-bumping’. Boris Johnson’s wife Carrie behaved in the same way with President Macron and his wife.

What surprised us most of all about President Macron’s behaviour, however, was when Cyril Ramaphosa flew in from Africa.

Macron bear-hugs South African President, both mask-less

President Macron was seemingly delighted to see President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa from South Africa, home of the supposedly deadly South African (‘Beta’) variant of Covid-19 and by then rampant with the new Indian ('Delta') variant. He had just jetted in and was fresh off the plane from his homeland.

Below are photos of the first meeting of the French and South African Presidents at the G7.

In South Africa at that time, official average daily deaths ‘with Covid’ were running at 111 per day – over 12 times higher than the UK and almost double the rate in France. It is believed that in fact the true figures from South Africa are much higher, as the recording of these is unreliable in many parts of that country.

Indeed yesterday (Sun 27 Jun 2021) President Ramaphosa addressed the nation, announcing the re-imposition of the highest state of lockdown including a curfew, and saying:

"Twelve days ago, I addressed you to warn that a new and deadly third wave of infections had begun in a number of our provinces, and was spreading. The average number of daily new infections was more than doubling, hospital admissions were rising, and deaths from COVID-19 were increasing by nearly 50 percent. As I address you this evening, the situation has gotten worse."

- South African President, two weeks after Monsieur Macron embraced him strongly, with neither of them wearing masks.

South Africa's problems are caused by the new 'Delta' variant from India. "The evidence we have is that the Delta variant is rapidly displacing the Beta variant, which has been dominant in our country until now," said President Ramaphosa yesterday. This was already known when President Macron was so intimate with him at the G7 summit in Cornwall, and this is precisely the same variant cited by President Macron and Chancellor Merkel as the reason now being used to persuade the whole of the EU to ban holidaymakers from Brexit Britain this summer.

The ‘official’ photos of the G7 Summit

In contrast to the evidence we have shown above, the official picture presented to the world was rather different. Below are two of the official G7 Summit photos, showing everyone suitably socially-distanced.

As an aside, and as Facts4EU.Org has pointed out before, these ‘G7’ summits contain an anomaly. The official photo on the right above contains nine people, not seven. The disparity in the number is caused by the presence of two EU Presidents: EU Council President Charles Michel and EU Commssion President Ursula von der Leyen. Neither of these two individuals represents a country.

Finally, we understand that Covid testing was taking place daily at the G7 meeting.

To the right is a photo of the facility that was in place.

Observations

‘Never mind the Hancocks’

It should be said that we have no idea whether any official Covid guidance was issued by the UK Government to the G7 leaders, nor to other leaders such as the two EU Presidents who were inexplicably invited, as ever.

Was it ‘anything goes’ or were the controls which the rest of the country were following supposed to be adhered to? After all, this event took place on English soil and it was therefore subject to the Covid laws, rules, and guidance in England at that time.

Two things are abundantly clear, however.

  1. Whilst most of the leaders observed some basic Covid measures for part of the time, these seem to have gone by the wayside when the politicians were in relaxed mode, and
  2. While President Macron’s fellow countrymen and women in France were prevented from even leaving their house at night and were having to wear face-masks everywhere, he saw nothing wrong with having the closest, unmasked physical contact with others.

Just about the only thing we did not observe at the G7 Summit was the kind of intensive mouth-to-mouth Covid attention administered to one of his colleagues by the former Health Secretary in his office at the Dept of Health.

The ‘Napoleon complex’ and the French President

Some readers may think we have singled out the French President unfairly. Our response is that he seems to have been the most cavalier of all the leaders, flouting any semblance of the Covid guidance – let alone the rules – throughout his attendance at the Summit.

Perhaps it might help the Anglo-French ‘entente cordiale’ if French government ministers were not so relentless in their continual anti-British statements. We know they are desperate for Brexit Britain to fail, but there ARE limits. And perhaps it was not overly helpful when the French President effectively banned most British holidaymakers entering France at the suggestion of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, only some days after he returned from having enjoyed English hospitality.

Inconsistency, hypocrisy, and ‘rules for the common people’

If the public had been told that this G7 event was so important that Covid measures would not apply in full – but that certain basic precautions would still be followed – then this might have been understood. What we simply can’t abide is the pretence and the hypocrisy.

Why pose for the press for photos and video opportunities showing obedience to the rules, and then spend the rest of the time obeying the rules sometimes and flagrantly flouting them at all other times?

The public are not stupid and should not be treated as such. Our message to politicians is simple: Either follow the rules or don’t, but please don’t take us for idiots.

We can always make our views known at the next election…

… Unless of course the next general election is cancelled because of a new ‘Omega variant’ which suddenly appears and is ready to be pressed into action just in time to see British democracy put on hold indefinitely.
