EU’s indoctrination of British schoolchildren to continue, led from the EU's UK offices

British schools & youth groups to be offered schemes by EU Parliament’s London Office

Last week it was announced that - despite Brexit - the ‘communication programmes’ of the EU Parliament will be promoted from its London offices in Smith Square. Visits to Strasbourg and Brussels, workshops, online support, and course material will all be on offer.

Perhaps unsurprisingly the EU Parliament decided to keep its plush accommodation in a city which is still seen as one of the top postings in the world. (Even fanatical EU-federalist extremists such as Guy Verhofstadt MEP is an admitted Anglophile and can't stop coming to the UK.) On Monday the Bureau of Presidents of the EU Parliament went one step further and announced that the Parliament's 'communications programmes' would be offered in the UK - especially for young people.

Announcement from 'Bureau of Presidents' of EU youth programmes for UK children

“The Bureau of the Parliament (President Sassoli and Vice-Presidents) agreed on Monday night to adapt its communication programmes to ensure that UK citizens, in particular the younger generation and the millions of EU27 citizens residing in the country, are still able to participate.

“Opinion multiplier groups, youth groups and organisations will be able to participate in debates and events offered by the European Parliament like the European Youth Event, which brings together thousands of young Europeans every two years in Strasbourg and online.

UK schools will also be able to participate in Euroscola, an immersive experience that takes place in the Chamber of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, allowing secondary school students to learn about European integration by experiencing it first-hand.

“UK schools can also take part in the European Parliament Ambassador Schools Programme.”

Observations

"We'll take away your lorry drivers' cheese & ham sandwiches, but your kids can come over for some 'lessons'"

At a time when the EU institutions and many EU countries are trying to make things as petty and difficult as possible for Brexit Britain, it seems that they are nevertheless happy to engage very positively with the youth and the teachers of the UK.

A coordinated communications campaign will be run by the EU Parliament – one of the most extreme of all EU institutions – from its very attractive offices in London’s leafy Smith Square, just a few hundred yards from ‘the Mother of all Parliaments’. On offer will be a range of initiatives and support material, as well as the possibility of travel to Strasbourg or Brussels to ”learn about European integration”.

Shouldn’t our young people do exchanges like this?

The Brexit Facts4EU.Org team are all firm believers that “travel broadens the mind”. Unfortunately the problem here is two-fold.

Firstly, what you see on the various EU youth websites – and that of the ‘European Parliament Liaison Office in the United Kingdom’ – might look fairly innocuous. In years gone by we were able to publish what the EU really meant to achieve, because they made it very plain. These days, however, the EU are careful not to publish anything too incriminating online. This does NOT mean that the indoctrination agenda has diminished. Far from it.

The second problem is our children receiving a balanced education, where they can weigh up different opinions. The UK’s teachers and university lecturers voted overwhelmingly for Remain.

  • 75% of secondary school teachers backed Remain
  • Nearly 90% of university lecturers backed Remain

Above is how the teaching profession voted in the EU Referendum, according to the Times Educational Supplement survey at the time.

We rather think that the majority of them will be more than happy for children and young adults in their care to receive a full-on blast of the supposed benefits of “European integration”. Indeed they would probably favour what we consider to be a dystopian world.

How long before our reasonable and alternative opinions are barred from the EU?

Another way of describing European integration is “the subsuming of individual nationalities with rich cultures into one amorphous grey mass, governed from the capital of a dysfunctional country, and administered by an unelected technocracy.” This is certainly one of our descriptions. We would be happy to deliver a lecture like this, but we doubt that those who run the EU’s propaganda programmes would be very interested.

Incidentally, we would also be capable of delivering a perfectly balanced lecture, or a balanced set of school materials, illuminating all sides of the debate dispassionately and with official facts. If we were teachers we would do exactly that.

Unfortunately some people now think Brexit is "done" and not surprisingly the whole Covid thing has hit the level of donations we receive, which were already less than we needed to survive. We are most grateful to readers who have donated in recent days, but we badly need more readers to do the same. 10 readers donating £500 per month, or 50 readers donating £100 per month, or 1000 readers donating £5 per month - on top of the one-off donations and monthly donations we currently receive, this would just about keep us going.

Sadly, the challenges of seeing Brexit through are not the only concerns we face. Freedom of expression and the basic principles of democratic accountability are under attack as we have never seen before. We have far more to do in researching, publishing, campaigning and lobbying Parliament than we have in terms of the financial resources to fulfil these tasks. We rely 100% on public donations from readers like you. Unlike the Remain/Rejoin camp, we do not have foreign billionaires to subsidise our work.

If you believe in a fully-free, independent, and sovereign United Kingdom, please make a donation now. It’s quick, secure, and confidential, and you can use one of the links below or you can use our Donations page here. You will receive a personal, friendly ‘thank you’ from a member of our team within 24 hours. Thank you so much if you can help to keep us going in these critical months ahead.
