EU’s economy plunges by -15.3% because of Brexit, BEFORE Coronavirus
Latest GDP figures from EU make for shocking reading in Brussels and the EU27

The EU’s post-Brexit economy could tank by 30% this year
Yesterday, on Victory in Europe (VE) Day, the EU Commission published its GDP figures for 2019. They revealed the percentage which each member country allegedly contributed to the EU’s total GDP last year.
This publication forms yet another in the EU’s now-appalling series of official propaganda sheets this year. In this case the title was:
“Which EU countries had the highest GDP in 2019?”
This propaganda sheet was published via the EU’s official statistics agency which is called Eurostat – their equivalent of the UK’s Office for National Statistics. If the EU Commission were remotely interested in alerting its 447 million citizens to a massive drop of 15.3% in its economy, it completely failed to do so.
Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary
- Throughout 2019 the United Kingdom was a full member of the European Union
- Once again, the EU Commission airbrushed the United Kingdom out of the picture entirely
- The EU published a wholly misleading set of results
- The real story is that the EU’s economy has fallen by 15.3% - BEFORE the effects of the Coronavirus recession
Here is how the EU WRONGLY reported its GDP results

Once again the EU Commission lied blatantly – below we present the reality
Please note that when we use the word "lied", we do so reluctantly but feel compelled more and more to do so by the EU's actions, when faced with official information which simply is not true.
Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary
The truth about the EU’s economy last year
- The EU’s percentages are all wrong
- It does not matter that they put a little “Note” at the bottom of their publication
- The facts are wholly inaccurate and thoroughly misleading
Here is the true picture for 2019 – using the EU’s own figures but including the UK, which was an EU member throughout that year.
- The UK was the second-largest EU economy (above France)
- 15.34% of the EU’s total economy came from the UK
- Last year the UK represented €2.52 TRILLION of the EU’s total economy
- More than 1/7th of the EU’s economy has now gone – even BEFORE the effects of the COVID recession
- Brexit is worse for the EU economy than 18 EU countries leaving at once

Observations
For years we have argued that the EU is fundamentally a totalitarian organisation at its heart.
Staffed by extremist ideologues who are not elected by popular mandate, it brooks no dissent, is not interested in the citizens of its member countries, and ruthlessly pursues its own agenda to create a superstate as quickly as possible.
In so doing it has always cut corners and been cavalier with the truth. Since the British people voted in 2016 to leave this sclerotic edifice, it seems that the extremists in the EU’s Politburo have thrown any normal sense of reality to the winds.
The peoples of the EU27 countries should be told the truth. They should see a report showing the reality last year, in 2019. The United Kingdom was the second-largest EU economy, contributing 15.34% to the EU’s total. The peoples of the EU27 should be told that the EU is now a significantly smaller place.
All indications are that the EU's combined GDP will fall by 15% this year because of the Coronavirus lock-downs on their own. To this will have to be added the 15% drop as a result of the UK leaving the EU, as we have shown. That's a very, very big hit indeed.
Deutschland Uber Alles
The classic definition of a monopoly used by economists was always the test of whether a business had 25% of its market.
Looking at the GDP figures for the EU27 (without the UK) published yesterday, Germany is now at 24.7%. Given the massive impact which the Coronavirus lock-downs are having on the Club Med and smaller members of the EU, we are certain that the EU’s 2020 GDP figures will show Germany having more than 25% of the EU’s total economy.
This is not healthy for the EU and neither – we suggest – is it healthy for Germany.
We hope that the citizens of the other 26 countries of the EU take note. If they are ever told, of course…..
It's Saturday and we've had a hard week. We really wish we could all go back fully to our day jobs, but sadly it seems we still need to fight the battle for free speech and a free and fully-independent United Kingdom. Let's face it, where else did you read the important information above? Nowhere.
