How can the EU discuss the Channel migrant crisis without the UK?

If the French and the EU won't even discuss solutions with the UK, what does this say about them?

Tomorrow, Sunday 28 Nov 2021, the 'Ministers of the Interior' (Home Secretaries) of France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany will convene in Calais for an emergency meeting with EU Commission officials to discuss the Channel crossing crisis. They will do so without the presence of the UK Home Secretary.

This meeting has been provoked by the tragic loss of life on Wednesday, when at least 27 illegal migrants lost their lives in French waters attempting to cross the Channel from the safe country of France to the equally safe country of the United Kingdom.

Is this credible to the World?

There is a great deal that can be written about the transit of tens of thousands of illegal migrants from French shores to the UK, in perilous conditions.

What must scarcely be credible to the rest of the World is that an EU meeting is taking place tomorrow to discuss an urgent humanitarian crisis, without the presence of a representative of one of the two countries involved.

When does a French fit of pique become an international outrage?

The World has already witnessed 'la Belle France' acting like a primadonna, after the French government's over-reaction to Australia's decision to form the 'AUKUS' pact with the United Kingdom and the United States. Australia cancelled its plans to buy French submarines in what the French government had previously labelled "the contract of the century". Instead they chose to ally with Brexit Britain and the USA.

The latest fit of French pique makes this pale into insignificance. Yesterday the government of Monsieur Emmanuel Macron - a President up for re-election in just over four months' time - went into overdrive.

It seems that a perfectly reasonable letter written by the UK Prime Minister to the French President ruffled the feathers of the French 'coq'. Following the tragedy in the English Channel, Boris Johnson sent the letter shown below.

What is already clear is that the politicisation of France's inability to control its own borders, and its President's need to shore up electoral support ahead of his re-election attempt next year, is impacting and preventing pragmatic solutions to a situation which should transcend politics.

Stop funding Macron's Govt to curb illegal migrants entering the UK. Instead, for every illegal migrant entering the UK from France, withdraw a fishing licence that allows French Trawlers acces to fish in UK Waters. It'll soon stop this charade.

Yes, agree. Just like the Nation's health.
Japan, and most of India, have wiped out Covid-19 within weeks of its introduction by using Ivermectin. (see my comments 20 to 23 on the Nov 21st article 'Dutch police shoot protesters). The vaccines don't work; this is the most pragmatic solution, but the government refuse to allow doctors to prescribe ivermectin in the UK.

The government now wish to scare you about a new variant, so they can bring in their Plan B and introduce vaccine passports - which are nothing to do with Health, but are all about Control (particularly when they then link it to your savings and income through a digital currency).
They saw how stupidly compliant people were with mask-wearing (do not work, and damage user's health in many ways) so they now know they can put out any old garbage and the majority will go along with it, and allow them to steal your freedom and wealth.. The latest garbage is this New variant.
They first called it Nu, so you might think it was NEW. They've now changed that embarrassing name to the omicron variant (an anagram of 'mor onic' in case you don't realise how they regard you). And IT IS NOT NEW. It was 'discovered' back in July according to an article on the World Economic Forum website.

It shows only one thing, the sheer hatred of the U.K. by the EU.

Its obvious that the most effective way to resolve this issue is for France to agree to take back all illegal migrants immediately. That would end the criminal gangs financial model once and for all. I can understand why France would shiver at this option, as we are doing being at the receiving end of these illegal acts. But surely an agreement could be made over management costs including temporary accommodation and relocation to real homeland. We pay for them over here or we pay for them over there !
That is of course assuming that Micron wishes to be reasonable and compassionate .. unfortunately they aren't traits he's displayed to date.

Could the answer be that contrary to EU apparent alleged default position of having undocumented meetings in secret – he’s had a ‘fit’ that the UK want to deal transparently, with all that it might bring to light?

Treating this as an issue of people keeping to the rules, or fulfilling the agreements they have signed is pretty silly. Macron himself said yesterday that migrants want to go to the UK and they don't want to stay in France. There are two obvious reasons for this. One is that France has had unemployment rates of between 12% and 8% for more than a decade so migrants know where they are more likely to get a job. The other is that France is a deeply racist country, in ways most British people can't even imagine, so migrants, especially from North Africa know they will never be completely accepted in French society or given the opportunities they can get in the UK.
I think it is time to stop debating migrants in terms of how to send them back, and instead accept that they will come to the UK and they won't go back willingly at all.
In other words, it's time to stop pretending we can arrest the migration wave, and instead concentrate on how to integrate migrants with the least damage to ourselves, and second, how we can talk directly to the countries the migrants come from, to manage the flow, and stop worrying about France and what the French think.
The idea that we can somehow get the French or the EU to "help" is just idiotic. They are enjoying every minute of this, and so we have to fix this ourselves.

7. Have you wondered. I think you are completely right. He also threw a fit last month when Scott Morrison published messages from Macron that showed conclusively that Macron knew that the French submarine deal with Australia was in trouble, and that AUKUS wasn't a surprise.
Incidentally, if you read Johnson's letter to Macron, it is completely reasonable. In fact, what Johnson wrote isn't just reasonable, but obviously the right thing.

So, how did Poland succeed in stopping Iraqi economic immigrants at their border? Without help from any of the other EU countries? Perhaps the clue lies there. I suggest the British Government protect our Borders by erecting fences and patrolling the south coastal shores in the areas the immigrants come in on. Do not allow the dinghies to land, but tow them back out into the Channel and direct them to France. OK sounds harsh but this will stop them ever attempting to break our Laws on entering this country. And the end to the Privateers. 'You are NOT Welcome' must be the message, not come in, welcome, and here is the key to your free house, and you will get money, health care and free education. None of us would attempt to enter another country illegally. Isn't that right?
