Facts4EU.Org looks at one key metric in the Covid-19 crisis

For more than a year the public has been presented with a bewildering array of figures on a daily basis relating to the Covid-19 pandemic. To make things even more confusing, the figures quoted in the press conferences have changed, the criteria for defining them has changed, and often highly dubious numbers arising out of ‘modelling’ have been used rather than actual facts.

It now seems clear that the Government will be pressing ahead with its plans for a ‘Covid passport’, without which citizens will be prevented from doing all manner of normal things.

Facts4EU.Org has therefore decided to present a snapshot of one key – if morbid – statistic which shines a very bright light on the proportionality of measures such as vaccines passports and any other curtailments of individual liberty proposed by Government.

What is the average number of deaths per million ‘related to’ Covid-19?

The simple figures we are presenting below might be considered by many people to be a key factor in deciding whether Covid-19 is indeed still a justification for draconian and totalitarian measures. We have shown the figure for the UK as well as the figures for the five largest EU27 countries as a comparison. Those five countries represent two-thirds of the total EU27 population.

Brexit Facts4EU.Org Summary

7-day rolling average of deaths per day per million, ‘related to’ Covid-19

  • United Kingdom: 0.45
  • Germany: 1.46
  • Spain: 1.85
  • France: 4.06
  • Italy: 6.78
  • Poland: 10.09

In the UK each day, less than one person per two million in the total population is dying from a cause where Coronavirus is mentioned on the death certificate.

On any given day you are now three times more likely to die (of a cause where Coronavirus is mentioned) in Germany, nine times more likely to die in France, and 22 times more likely to die in Poland.

Total deaths

For the last two weeks, the total number of deaths from all causes in the UK has fallen significantly below the five-year rolling average, according to the Office for National Statistics. In the last two weeks there has been no 'excess mortality' as a result of Covid-19. In fact fewer people are now dying from all causes in the UK than would be expected, based on the last five years' figures.

We shouldn’t have to say this, but…

To avoid being banned by social media, Facts4EU.Org reminds all UK readers to follow the official Coronavirus health advice published by the UK Government. The information we have presented is just that – information – and it comes from official sources.

Observations

This is our sixth year of researching and analysing detailed data on a seven day-a-week basis. Wherever possible we aim to focus in on official, up-to-date facts which tell a simple story and which inform readers’ views in an intelligent way.

We often receive messages from people (usually anti-Brexit and seemingly anti-UK) talking about other facts than those which relate to the specific article they are commenting on. They miss the point. It is by condensing our articles and keeping them to a single topic that our readership has grown. In our experience not many people have the time or the inclination to read 3,000 word essays.

In our latest report above we saw a key figure in the whole Covid debate as being deaths per million per day. In the United Kingdom this is now so low that it must raise some serious questions about the continuation of oppressive and totalitarian denials of individual liberties by Government.

In our view it most certainly raises questions about the proposed ‘vaccine passport’, which we cannot support on the grounds that it would be another nail in the coffin of a supposedly free society. In this, we agree with a large and growing number of MPs.

Where would we be without you, our readers?

Producing reports like the one above take time and they are unique. No-one at the BBC seems to be the least bit interested in investigating and revealing information like this to the public. If fighting for British sovereignty and freedom is important to you, please read on.

We are most grateful to readers who have donated so far this year, but we badly need more readers to do the same if we are to continue in our sixth year - researching facts, scrutinising, publishing, and lobbying MPs. Quick, secure, and confidential donation links are below this article, or you can use our Donations page here. 10 readers donating £500 per month, or 50 readers donating £100 per month, or 1000 readers donating £5 per month - on top of the one-off donations and monthly donations we currently receive, this would just about keep us going. If you have never donated before, please, please, keep us going with a donation now. Thank you so much. You will receive a personal 'thank you' email from a member of the team, but you will not be badgered by us for more funds, unlike some organisations!
