On Wednesday (25 Mar 2020) the EU released its latest trade information for the year 2019. The results show just how dependent the EU is on the UK market.

  • The EU27 only bought €193.7 billion of products from the UK

The United Kingdom is a great, outward-looking, trading nation with a truly fabulous history.
Its custom is vital to the EU.

The EU's airbrushing of the UK out of the picture backfires on the EU

The EU Commission seems to be so desperate to rid itself of any notion that the UK has ever been involved in the European Union for the last 47 years, it no longer publishes reports showing the UK as a member.

This happens even when the years it is reporting on are years when the UK was a full member of the EU. Such as last year (2019) for instance.

Unfortunately for the EU Commission, this airbrushing of history can have unintended consequences.

Around 10 days ago we reported on the January 2020 versus January 2019 trade figures from the EU, and many Remainers were quick to dismiss our report because it related to the most recent month reported.

Today we bring you the full 2019 trade figures from the EU Commission’s official statistics agency, Eurostat

For years we have been extracting UK data out of Eurostat releases in order to show just how important the UK was to the EU. Now we don’t have to.

The EU has just released its trade data for 2019 (when the UK was still a member) showing the UK as being a ‘third country’.

The result is that all the world can now see that the UK is the EU27’s second-largest market.

Observations

With the Eurozone once again teetering on the verge of collapse as the Coronavirus scare starts to bite in EU economies, the importance of massive global economies such as the UK will start to rise up the agenda.

Last year the UK bought 15% of all exported products from the EU. This means that more than 1 in 7 of products exported from the EU27 (by value) were bought by the British. And when we say British, that’s now the “Brexit-British”. The same British who the EU Commission are infuriating more and more each week, as people in the UK realise just how bad this undemocratic and totalitarian organisation really is.

For years it has been exasperating for the Brexit Facts4EU.Org team – and for many readers we’re sure – to have watched as the globalists, UK-critiquers, and the ‘miserati’ in the upper echelons of the Civil Service and the British Establishment have done our country down on an incessant basis.

Out with the old

It must be said that we would still take a stiff broom to many areas of public life. The country would be so much better for it in our opinion and we think a spring clean to the London ‘elites’ would be welcomed across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom.

The majority of the people on the receiving end of this hard broom actually reside and work in London, of course. It’s our impression that most of them still “don’t get it” despite the result of the 2019 General Election. They would probably be shocked if they knew what so many people think of them.

On a positive note this Saturday, we invite readers to glance again at our chart above. Soak it in.
This is your country and it’s a great one.

The United Kingdom is a vibrant, outward-looking, trading nation with a truly fabulous history.
Its business is vital to the EU.
