If you’re bored with this, imagine how Joe and Jane Public feel?

Nevertheless we look at one positive from last night’s Parliamentary shambles

Boris got over the line with Labour votes

Sometimes even the team at Brexit Facts4EU.Org gets fed up, so goodness knows what Joe and Jane Public think. We’re talking about ordinary people who don’t eat, breathe and sleep Brexit.

If you are reading this you are one of the tens of thousands of our readers who are engaged in securing Brexit and independence for the United Kingdom. Thank heavens for you all.

Nonetheless we all know that most of the public don’t have time for the daily – or even the weekly – ins and outs of this tortuous Brexit process. For many, they will watch the news today and say to themselves “What a surprise, Brexit delayed again.”

Instead of wasting hours on last night’s continuing shenanigans in the House of Commons, we will just make one positive observation.

More Labour MPs are starting to back a form of Brexit

Regular readers will know that we have long focused on MPs as being the blockage to Brexit. People can sign as many petitions as they like but these make no difference. What matters is threatening MPs’ jobs.

This is why we started our letters (not emails) campaign directed at Remainer MPs in Leave constituencies. Last night there was an indication that some Labour MPs are starting to think about the next General Election.

The Prime Minister would have lost the first vote without Labour rebels

If the 19 Labour MPs who voted for the new Withdrawal Agreement Bill followed Jeremy Corbyn’s instructions and had followed the Labour whip, Mr Johnson would have lost by eight votes.

Let’s not get too excited

Does this mean all the 19 Labour MPs who voted for the new Withdrawal Agreement Bill now believe in Brexit? Of course not. Some voted thoroughly disingenuously, planning to try to re-impose the Customs Union and Single Market during the Committee stage of the Bill which was planned for today.

What it does mean is that they can now claim to their Leave-voting constituents that they ‘backed Brexit’.

We do, however, sense an increasing mood amongst Labour MPs in staunchly Leave areas that they need to start thinking of their electoral prospects.

Finally, what of the proposed Withdrawal Treaty itself?

Our views on this have not changed.

We will continue to prepare the next two one-pagers in our ‘Brexit Fightback Initiative’. Whatever happens in the coming days and weeks, MPs and the public must have some simple, up-to-date, and easily-digestible facts about Brexit. Our one-pagers do this, using official and incontrovertible facts, most of which come from the EU Commission itself.

We also continue to work with other Brexit organisations, even though some now have different views on the best way to achieve Brexit.

Apologies for being as boring as Parliament, but we must ask readers something again. We desperately need to apply more resources to this fight. We can bring more resource back in, but we need funding to do so. Quick and secure donation options are below this article, as ever. Thank you to those readers who have contributed in recent days and weeks.
