UK’s average growth rate has fallen since the Single Market started

If membership of the Single Market is great for jobs and the economy, then it should be possible to see increased growth after it started. We measured it over a suitably long period - 50 years – using ONS data.

I wonder when the majority of UK Members of Parliament are going to finally accept the truth as set out by Facts4EU.org, and endosed by the above leave groups. These are official FACTS which cannot be challenged (sources are at the end of every article).
One has to wonder why MPs treat the electorate with utter contempt for daring to vote Leave. Do they think we're all mindless idiots?
The matter is clear enough to anyone - MPs voted in favour of holding the referendum and the outcome could have gone either way, so they KNEW what they voted for in parliament - didn't they!!
Due only to the arrogance of anti-democratic MPs failing to accept the eventual majority LEAVE instruction, do they understand why the MAJORITY electorate hold them in absolute contempt for their failure to deliver as promised?
I only refer to MPs who insist on keeping us tied to the EU quasi-dictatorship in some respect, whilst other MPs do actually know what "Leave the European Union" means.
It is my view the reason opposition party's refuse a General Election is because they know the electorate will kick them out of power without mercy for trying to subvert Brexit, just because they didn't like the outcome. POWER HAS GONE TO THEIR HEADS?

This is an emotional issue and each side will interpret the same facts in a different way. Remain and Leave each represent complex positions. Some Leavers are liberal internationalists; some Remainers are protectionists. The converse is also true. Many Leavers are nationalistic. The labour movement ought to be supporting Hard Brexit, instead they are supporting Remain. These complexities resonate on the ground in rich chord notes that are hard to define. Brexit seems to be provincial: small towns, the countryside; small businesses; a bottom-up 'rough and ready' society in which we do our own thing but at the same time have a government that looks after British people. Remain is more metropolitan and is about the elitist understanding of things; big cities, urban politics, and cultural Leftism. Rather like the civil wars of the past, this is a battle between two different nations, each a complex in its own right.
In theory, a political democracy works through 'loser consent': you lose a vote and accept the result and adapt. This is essential for social cohesion. Due to mass immigration, we've lost cohesion. Instead of being a indigenous British complex of nations, localities, social classes and vested interests, Britain has become (or is becoming) a confused mixed-racial mass without direction, without a coherent culture or a shared understanding of things like law and politics. The result is that the civic culture that held society together is no longer respected. It's becoming a spoils system between competing identity groups, in which great reliance is placed on befuddling the indigenous white British majority into a state of 'guilt'. A very small but influential minority of the people are fanatically attached to this meta-agenda and are refusing to give 'loser consent'. They won't be persuaded by your facts and figures.

Off topic. If we are faced with a second referendum at some point where the question is Remain vs whatever 'deal' is negotiated, will the Government be sending every household in the UK a hard copy of full legal text of the agreement and in what languages? If not, why not?
Furthermore, will the Government be providing legal advice on the text?
How much will this cost and will the taxpayer bear the burden?
I wouldn't want to vote without knowing the facts.

Comment 3, Patrick F, your comment particularly "I wouldn't want to vote without knowing the facts." made me smile! Is the voter given the whole picture ever with regard to election material? I often have seen 'loaded' vote questions where if you vote for it, you really are voting against it.
If the voting material has to be translated into so many languages that exist in the UK, God help the taxpayer!

3-Patrick F: Idealistic, yes & I myself tend to be of that inclination so no criticism on your comment from me. Don't suppose we will receive anything like you suggest however but I agree, so far we have absolutely no idea what is going to be in this revised 'deal' should it exist or ever come to pass. I fear we might end up with the same scenario of 'this is the best & only' offer at what will be very short notice. We've all been ground down over time, the intention by many I'm sure and likely there will be the expectation that we'll all just keel over & accept whatever it is through frustration, boredom, apathy or whatever ! I await the next instalment as long as it's not from the BBC website which I find increasingly provocative, looking at one of this morning's headlines on future registration / settlement / deportation for EU citizens & the rabid comments by posters. I digress …… apologies. Thanks again Facts4eu for your very informative & eye opening pieces.

I stand by the research I did prior to the 2016 referendum. I only found Facts4eu after I'd cast my leave vote. It would have saved me a lot of time!
I still haven't found one reason for remaining in the EU. Those who believe we should haven't provided any evidence.
My original point is the utter disingenousness of the second referendum argument. Leave voters,having being smeared as ignorant are now expected to be 'experts' in international law. It's a given that the sentient Remainers are, whilst not explaining what are the tangible benefits of the UK remaining in the EU.
Thank goodness for people like Facts4eu and Martin Howe QC who are here to read and comment! Experts. Not MPs.

Tom, comment 2, good analysis. Delivering the Brexiteer in my area helps reinforce my understanding. Definitely a countryside versus metropolitan divide; but also a class divide. Like you say "The labour movement ought to be supporting Hard Brexit, instead they are supporting Remain."
Remain is the oppression by the professional Middle Class over the Working Class, particularly the despised white working class and their assumed values - where those who are less educated, who cannot afford to holiday independently in Europe, and who experience less of European food and wine, are thus denigrated by these smug middle-classes as being thick, bigoted, racist and generally lacking in sophistication - rather than, as should be, being regarded as people who are proud of their history and nation, with a strong sense of identity (people from 'somewhere').
Remain is nothing more than snobbery - the tyranny of snobs - otherwise it has little real argument to offer as to why it is beneficial to remain in their Euro-club.
Brendan O'Neill and Rod Liddle are good on this subject.
