EXCLUSIVE – Dominic Grieve confronted by Brexit Facts4EU.Org leafleters
Yesterday: Leader of Arch-Remoaners ambushed in his own constituency
Perhaps the Rt Hon Dominic Grieve QC MP thought he would be safe in his own constituency of leafy Beaconsfield yesterday. If so, he was in for wake-up call.
The Brexit commando operation
One of the extended Brexit Facts4EU.Org team and a colleague from his local group decided it was time for this former Attorney-General (and arch-Remoaner) to come face to face with some of the views of the 17.4 million who voted to free the United Kingdom from EU serfdom.
Yesterday our team member managed to track Mr Grieve down to a fund-raiser being held by the Marlow branch of his constituency party. Our intrepid co-worker and a colleague from the Brighton Brexiteers decided to set up stall outside the venue, helpfully giving out our ‘Go WTO’ leaflets to those attending the event, as well as to passers-by.
When the senior Remain plotter eventually arrived, our co-worker offered him our ‘Go WTO’ leaflet and our ‘Epic’ leaflet, plus another which they had designed, all of which he accepted. A short and polite debate then took place before Mr Grieve went in to address the party faithful.
Once the event was under way, the team moved on to Beaconsfield's shopping area, following the main shopping streets on foot and giving leaflets to people as they passed.
Mr Grieve might be interested to know that our leaflets were very well received and many people were genuinely pleased to have the opportunity to speak to someone face to face about Brexit. Dressed in eye-catching attire(!) they even had drivers beeping their horns and giving them the thumbs-up as they passed.
Observations
Last week the prissy and anti-democratic Dominic Grieve was in his preferred habitat of the House of Commons, plotting like a boy from the Lower Fourth with his little gang of co-conspirators. In this, he was able to secure the help of the School Head Boy, the pompous and self-important Bercow.
It was Grieve's amendment that the Speaker allowed to the Government’s 'un-amendable' business bill, which cut Theresa May's time to respond to any parliamentary defeat of her abominable 'Brexit Deal' from twenty-one days to only three.
This was an unprecedented move, against all historical protocols, and against the advice of the Commons' own staff. It broke all the rules, but then it seems that Remoaners like Grieve and Bercow will do anything to thwart the democratic decision of the British people.
Democracy and free speech
At least yesterday Mr Grieve found out that some people are prepared to go to great lengths to ensure he knows his views are unacceptable. He came face-to-face with true democrats who are not prepared to put up with his lawyerly nonsense in Parliament.
Finally we would stress that the conversation was entirely civilised on both sides. Sadly this is in sharp contrast to the vitriolic and foul-mouthed abuse that we have received from the Remain side ever since we started our ‘Go WTO’ campaign.
