Reject the Gilet Jaunes approach and leave the EU peacefully

In today’s The Scotsman newspaper friend of Brexit Facts4EU.Org Brian Monteith, Director of Communications at Global Britain, has written a cautionary piece, outlining the risks being run by our MPs in Westminster, as they continue to try to overturn the result of the EU Referendum.

“Let us be under no illusions, no denial of reality. The next two weeks could be the most important for the future of our country in the 21st Century. Yes, that is a big claim, and it is only the beginning of 2019, but the vote on Theresa May’s Withdrawal Agreement and the response she gives a week today, as she must, is likely to determine the continued existence of the UK, the laws it operates under and how we behave as a society.

“If the Prime Minister plays it badly, and in particular gets her response wrong, the traditional acceptance of evolutionary social and economic change may perish in bonfires, demonstrations and mutual mistrust in all politicians and the democracy we cherish.”

He goes on to describe what could be on the way if Mrs May and the MPs at Westminster continue to get things so badly wrong.

“[To] repeatedly betray promises and overturn the referendum result will no doubt bring on mass demonstrations in the disguise of Gilet Jaunes, infiltrated I expect by anarchists looking for a fight, the extremes of left and right and a hydra-headed unaccountable extra-parliamentary leadership that cannot easily be tamed.

“Our MPs must vote down the “deal” that is not a deal and then move to leave on 29 March. Anything less will see the repudiation of our democracy end peaceful change as we have known it.”

We share Brian’s concerns. We really don’t think that those in Westminster have the first idea of the strength of feeling across the country at large.

Lets see if our mp's really have what it takes to free our country,our friends,our family,and each one of us.
Of all the attributes of a person,the freedom to decide your own destiny is the greatest gift.

I take some exception to Brian calling the Gilets Jaunes demonstrations 'a disguise' Hundreds of thousands of absolutely desperate French people have been driven to these extreme lengths, some losing their lives for goodness sake, because they were ignored, trampled on and dismissed by an arrogant and dictatorial Establishment and the elite. Yes, some extremists will infiltrate the movement, but the significance of possibly the longest and most sustained protests ever should not be dismissed, underestimated or trivialised.
The same contemptuous behaviour referred to has been shamefully exhibited by our very own Parliamentarians, who
are indeed playing a very dangerous game and testing the limits of tolerance amongst the betrayed electorate and has already resulted in yellow vests protests in London, Sheffield, Dublin and on a small scale in Bristol.
Whether Politicians choose to behave with integrity and honour, or not, will decide whether these demonstrations become more widespread as people become increasingly frustrated and angry.
